ParticipantHey Brandon,
Sorry you’re having these same issues here. Can you start by posting your system information? Here’s how to do so โ https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Thank you!

ParticipantThanks for your information Alex, and explaining a bit more about your problems here.
I unfortunately do have to bear the news that this is a bug we do not have a fix for at this time, but are working on โย it is tied to the way WPML works and the way AJAX in general works ๐
I’m sorry to bear that news, Alex. Please let me know what you think and if I can help in any other way.

ParticipantThanks for sharing all of this Thomas. This unfortunately may be a WPML issue that we cannot work around at this time. ๐ This is because you are right about what you wrote it here:
I donโt realy understand why the AJAX call is send to the German domain, perhaps it may be it is in WPML configuered as standard domain.
This is not something The Events Calendar is built to work around and the only solution I can think of might be to use WPML to still offer translations but only on one domain, using the “sub-directory” method where a page in English might be at example.com/en/page but in German at example.com/de/page
There must be some kind of workaround to allow just that scenario a AJAX call from the en-domain to the de-domain.
This might indeed be possible…you might be able to filter WordPress’ built-in admin_url() function, which is used by plugins to point to the admin-ajax.php file to run ajax requests. You could theoretically “hijack” this function via its filter to force the domain name to always be the English one or something, but this is something I do not recommend because it could have far-reaching effects.
You can learn about this function and find out where it is located within WordPress so that you can read it and see how its filter works checking out its WP Codex page here โ https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/admin_url
Let me know what you think about all of this!
Sincerely,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Phil,
Thanks for clarifying things a bit, I think the essence of your goals are summarized nicely by what you said here:
I want her to have complete control over her own events, but not have access to anyone elseโs events, nor access to the admin functions of the WP site.
This is unfortunately a tricky thing to do. First off, it’s not something dictated by any of our plugins; there are no settings within The Events Calendar or any of its add-ons that would enable this functionality. It is a general WordPress question/thing.
You can definitely allow users to sign up for accounts on your site; as for limiting their access from there, you can set their accounts to certain “user roles” like “Editor” or “Author”, but not “Admin”. This will let them edit some content like events, but not change admin settings, access the Plugins or Themes page, etc.
But as for letting them only access their own events, that is unfortunately not possible with WordPress core at this time. The only things you could do are use custom coding to wire up some custom system for this; or maybe there is a plugin out there that does something similar to what you want. I unfortunately do not know of such a plugin, but it’s possible โ there are a ton of plugins out there! ๐
I’m sorry for some of the disappointing news in my reply here, but hope it is helpful nonetheless. Let me know what you think!

ParticipantDefinitely okay to share that Phil, and thank you for doing so!
One thing to note is that errors on the main month view arise for a number of reasons, because it is not a single event view. The event data is stored in a different way to render the JavaScript popups, for one thing, and for the Demo page specifically, there are indeed some “all-day” events that just have one date and thus might cause issues with the testing tool.
If you go to a Single Event that has its date data all properly filled out, however, then the Structured Data testing tool shouldn’t report any issues.
I hope this information helps!

ParticipantHey Vera,
If your testing showed that simply activating a default theme resolved your problem, then your custom MentalPress theme is the culprit here. I’m sorry about the bad news that this is, but we do not offer support for software that is not our own and so cannot troubleshoot the theme much.
I did take a look at your site and see one JavaScript error, which is this one:
You have included the Google Maps API multiple times on this page. This may cause unexpected errors.
I’ve seen that error on other sites where it didn’t create bugs like the one you reported, but it could be the problem here. With this information, you can go to your theme support and tell them about the problem. They may have a simple recommendation for dequeueing their own loaded version of the Google Maps API.
If all of this information is still not helpful, and you would like a refund, then if you purchased your Events Calendar Pro license within the last 30 days we can absolutely give you a full refund.
To do that, just email [email protected] with a copy to your original order receipt โ not a PayPal receipt, it’s an order receipt from this website itself with the Order Number at the top of the email and such.
Let me know what you think about all of thisย โย I’m sorry if the way I originally addressed your problem didn’t seem like I cared or something; I genuinely hope the best for your site but just wanted to be clear that we cannot offer support for themes or other software that isn’t ours ๐ I hope you can troubleshoot a bit based on what I reported here in this reply, but if not, I totally understand and can issue a refund promptly.
Thank you,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantI appreciate it Lisa, and am genuinely sorry about the inconvenience caused by all of this!
Keep us posted on things, even if it’s the weekend I will be checking this thread often so that I can act quickly once the site is visible again. (and P.S. โย Fridays and the weekends are generally low-traffic times on the Internet…might be a good window for activating the site!)
Sincerely,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantThanks Alan, and likewise โย we appreciate the feedback! ๐

ParticipantThank you for updating Nigel!
1. Just to be certain, do you mean November and December of 2015? or 2016? Or even beyond?
2. Can you create a new Recurring Event that has this issue, and then take a screenshot of its recurrence settings and share it with us? You can do this by uploading the screenshot to imgur.com and then sharing a link to that Imgur image here in your response.
Thank you!
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantNo worries Hans-Gerd, thank you for the update โย keep us posted on things whenever you have the time to test, and let us know what you find!

ParticipantAwesome! Thanks for the update here. I’m glad you got things working a bit and wish you the best of luck with your site and your customizations ๐
Cheers,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantNice! I’m sorry that it required such a relatively-involved customization to do that, but am glad you got it working for now.
Best of luck with your site! ๐
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantThanks for reporting that! I hope you’re able to find an alternative, or even just a way to disable the plugin from affecting scripts from The Events Calendar….
I’ll close up this thread for now, but if anything else arises that we can help with, post a new thread any time! ๐

ParticipantHey Charles,
I’m glad that you found out the theme was the culprit here, or at least the primary one. When it comes to “other options to fix it”, there unfortunately is not a whole lot we can do here. If our plugin works fine, then simply activating your theme breaks things, then the best step is contact your theme developer for support and some insight as to what’s going wrong.
It could be an issue with theme JavaScript, or with a template-level issue in its PHP.
The only further insight I can think of gaining here from our perspective is to see if any errors pop up on your site if you head to your site’s wp-config.php file and change this line of code:
define('WP_DEBUG', false);to this:
define('WP_DEBUG', true); That will display PHP errors if any exist, which might be quite useful here.
Based on those errors, I might indeed be able to offer some more insight as to the source of the problem (and hopefully, then, some steps towards a solution).
Let me know what you think about all this; if you do the wp-config.php steps above, let me know what errors you find if any; and if you contact your theme support and hear back from them, let me know how it goes.
Sincerely,
George -
