Good evening Tim and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products. It’s truly appreciated.

However, please note we do not offer support for our free plugin in this forum.
Normally I would suggest to please repost your question over here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/the-events-calendar .

However, in your specific case, this is not a bug, but rather some kind of conflict caused either by your theme, one of your plugins or your version of WordPress. Although I can replicate this issue on your website, the youtube video works great on a default clean WordPress install with a built-in WordPress theme.

The best I can do is to suggest that you go through our testing for conflicts procedure (preferably in a staging/dev environment or local install of your WordPress website).

Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists.

For now I will then close this thread. Thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Hello again Jonathan,

Thank you again for your questions.

Is it possible to create tickets for each individual instance of the event automatically?

At the current time it is unfortunately not possible 🙁
I totally agree with you and with many of our users, this feature would be huge and great!

But, on the plus side, you are absolutely correct in your understanding of the planned feature.
Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date at this point. But stay tuned!

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Jonathan and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
We will gladly try to assist you on this topic.

As a first step, I would recommend reading my colleague Geoff’s great post on a related topic.

To make a long story short, I would really advise against trying to modify the date format within the plugin itself. This is likely to cause some pretty serious issues.

But, as the post suggests, you can absolutely customize things, including the format of certain values in a very specific context (leaving other views and context untouched) using the instructions contained in our Themer’s guide.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,

Good evening Ciaran and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the issue you have been experiencing.
We will gladly try to assist you on this topic.

Based on the information you have provided, I would also try deactivating the Event Rocket plugin to see if that makes any difference.

The reason I am saying this is because although it could still work, this plugin is no longer supported since version 4.0 of the Events Calendar. In fact, it has been the known cause of some odd behaviour for some of our users.

Secondly, it looks like your theme might contain some template customizations as explained in our Themer’s guide. To make a long story short, can you take a look at your theme’s folder and look for a folder called tribe-events.

If there is such a folder, try temporarily renaming it and make sure you comment out any related function calls in your functions.php file. This will allow us to establish if the theme itself is incompatible or if, on the other hand, the issue is caused by some template customization.

Let me know how that goes,

    Have a great day!

Good evening Andy and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us with your suggestion.

    This is a great idea.
In fact, you can suggest it or cast your vote on other features in our User Voice forum.

is it possible to add an new Admin-Option by a theme function?

Absolutely! To do that, you might want to read our Themer’s guide which details how to go about it.

To make a long story short, any template customizations done in this way will have priority over the plugin’s code.

And, if you don’t mind, you are always welcome to share any snippets you come up with. I am sure other people might be interested in such a feature.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Dermot and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear about your out of memory error message.
We will gladly try to assist you on this topic.

First and foremost, I would actually advise against rolling back on the Events Calendar Pro version (since the latest updates provide important security patches).

That being said, as you can see in my colleague George’s post, there have been times where the version of the Events Calendar bundled with Avada (and any template customization they provide) have been known to not play nicely with our updates.

To make a long story short, I would follow is suggestion and get rid of the bundled version of the Events Calendar AND temporarily switch to a default WordPress theme (e.g.: Twenty-fifteen) to see if the issue is still there.

Let me know how that goes.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Angela and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about your banners still displaying even after deletion!
We will gladly try to assist you on this topic.

By the looks of it, it sounds like you might have some sort of caching issue (either through a plugin or with your browser).

In any case, as a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your system information as well as the site’s URL in a private reply ?

Good evening Neal and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the stock issues your client has been experiencing.
We will gladly try to assist you on this topic.

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your client’s system information in a private reply ?

The reason I am asking is because although there has been some stock related issues late last year, these were corrected in a patch released in December.

Second of all, based on the scenario you provided, here’s what the expected behaviour is:

    1. You sell 5 tickets of an Event that has no stock
    2. You add stock to the Event (12 in this case)
    3. Your stock information will show as 5 of 17 tickets sold

In other words, when you add stock after selling some tickets, the previously sold tickets are added to that stock number. That means that if you are looking to sell only 12 tickets in the scenario above, you should add a stock of 7, not 12.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Dear Dave,

I am sorry you are not having a great day 🙁
On the plus side, I will gladly help you get to the bottom of this.

Based on your last Gist excerpt, I believe I might have miscommunicated. I apologize if I did create more confusion than clarity.

If you don’t mind, I’d like to recap how this is supposed to work, just to make sure we are on the same page:

    1. Your WordPress theme displays things based on the information based on the rules it contains. Depending on what it’s trying to display, it will call different files (archive.php, single.php, etc..).
    2. If you want to modify a rule or add new ones, you have a couple of options: edit the said file directly (archive.php, single.php, etc..) OR take a look at what that file is doing and define rules pertaining to that file’s elements straight in the functions.php of that file (which is what we are doing)

In other words, there is no need to include a complete page template in your functions.php file. That will unfortunately not work.

The only part that should be in functions.php (on top what was already there prior to your edits) should be the IF conditions (lines 82 – 110) of your last snippet. Everything else does not belong there.

Furthermore, I would recommend something more along the lines of $title = get_the_title(); for your events conditional.

Once again, sorry about all the confusion.

Let me know how that goes and hang in there!

    Good evening Fero,

I’m glad to see this works for you. Kudos!

To answer your question, overrides usually have priority over the built-in functions. But to prevent these functions from being erased upon theme updates, I would recommend using a child theme.

Something else to keep in mind is that we do not officially support customization which means that if there is an important change in the way the Event Tickets Plus code works, it might break the snippet.

This is why, you are always better off testing any updates prior to applying them (just to be sure). Or at the very least do a backup of your plugins, theme and Database before you do 🙂

    Have a great day!

    Bonsoir Yohann,

    Geoff B.

    Good afternoon Oscar,

Thank you for trying things out. I am sorry to see none of these solutions worked out for you.
You did not mention any test results with using a default WordPress theme (e.g.: twenty-fifteen)

It is a bit odd however that the snippets would display HTML code on your page. Perhaps this is due to the <?php tag (you probably already had one in your functions.php file, which means you wouldn’t need the one from the snippet.

In any case, I am also noticing that you are using WPML, was the problem gone after disabling WPML ?

The reason I am asking is because we do not provide official support for using WPML alongside the Community plugin. There is still a chance it might work though.

If you haven’t already I would make sure your settings match those suggested in the following Knowledge base article.

As an additional test, I would also make sure you are not translating the community slug with WPML (in the string translation settings).

I’m looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Have a great day!

    Good afternoon @Robin,

    Thank you for your question.

However, please note we do not offer support for our free plugin in this forum.
If you don’t mind, can you please repost your question over here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/the-events-calendar ?

    OR

If you are indeed one of our premium plugins, please open a separate support thread here (not in pre-sales).

This will ensure you get a timely response.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.
