Good evening Adam and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

They need to be able to offer a limited number of places for online purchase – but the course could take place on multiple dates over the course of the year, is this possible with creating one event

If I understand your scenario correctly, you would need the following plugins:

    1. the Events Calendar free: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar/
    2. the Events Calendar Pro: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/
    3. Event Tickets free: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets/
    4. Event Tickets Plus: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets-plus/
    5. WooCommerce

Once you have all of that, your client can create recurring events with the rules of their choice: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-recurring-events/

In turn, that recurring event can have a ticket attached to it.
The only caveat is that for now, we only offer one set of tickets for the complete Event series.

In other words, each of the individual events in that series do not get their own ticket. They share from a global ticket.

If you need separate tickets for each of these events, you will need to “break the event from the series” after creating them. Once that is done you will be able to add a distinctive ticket in each of these events.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Nathan and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the recurring date issue you are experiencing on your site.
I would love to help you with this topic.

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

Secondly, would it be possible to have a specific example URL on your site ?

Finally, some redirection plugins tend to auto-create redirection rules (based on their settings or their very nature).

I believe that if you look into the redirection link lists, you might find that several redirection rules have “automatically” created.

    Hang in there!

Good evening Dani and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the event ticket quantities not being properly calculated on you site. Yikes!

I would love to help you with this topic.

This could be caused by a few things:

    1. Your WooCommerce settings on how stock is handled.
    2. What the order status of your tickets are. This is related to point 1. Sometimes, stock is not decreased until an order is marked as “Complete”
    3. Any customization made to WooCommerce or our plugins that your WordPress theme might be using
    4. The versions of WordPress and plugins you are using. It looks like you are several version behind on WordPress, WooCommerce and our plugins.

The next step would be to do a complete database and plugin backup.

When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.

Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors).

Try temporarily reverting back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if that helps.

If not, you will have to consider upgrading to the latest version of everything.

Let me know how that goes.

Good afternoon Jill and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

    1. I would like to build a page in the Divi Builder and then add the ticket function to that page.. Is that possible?

Yes, that is. You simply need to make sure that “Pages” are selected under Events -> Settings -> Tickets

2, I am getting a error from Divi builder since I installed the events calendar and Tickets Plus, is this a known error?

I have not heard of such an error.
Could you tell me which version of Divi you are using and what the error looks like ?

    3. I added two ticket levels to my event but only one is showing up? What might be the reason for that?

If the ticket is visible in the event’s “Edit Event” page, then this is typically caused by the fact that one of the tickets has not met its “Start sale date” yet.

    4. I have a team ticket: Where a team is 6 players. Is it possible to have each team member receive a ticket via email?

The short answer is yes, that is possible.

However, this will require some customization on your end.
Just to set expectations, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues.

We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.

With that in mind, I believe that if you capture each team member’s email as part of the “additional attendee info”, you should be able to use a custom function to send a copy of the ticket to the emails you captured that way.

Good afternoon Austin and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

    1. I want to be able to sell tickets to the public, but allow for members to purchase at a discount. I know that promo codes can be used, but then those promo codes can be abused, and given to non members. Is there a way to have members login to get their discount?

The answer is yes. You will simply need to make sure that your Members have a specific WordPress role.

Once that is done, you could use a role-based discount plugin for WooCommerce (there are many), such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-role-based-price/

    2. Is there an option to have different discount levels which could be tied to membership levels? So if there are Gold, Silver and Bronze level memberships, can tickets be offered at different prices for the different membership levels?

Absolutely, you will just need make sure each Membership level equates to a different WordPress role.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Jeff and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

I was having trouble submitting this on the WordPress forums, it wasn’t recognizing me as a user even though I was logged in

This is odd to say the least. Would you mind trying that again in a private browser window ?

However, please note that we do not offer support for our free plugin in this premium add-ons forum.

But, the good news is that you are still welcome to consult this forum to your liking and browse it for solutions, snippets and tutorials.

With that in mind, it looks like there are issues on your installation because a JQuery error message is displaying in Google Chrome’s Developer tools console on the events page of your site.

Try temporarily reverting back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen and making sure you are using the very latest version of our plugins. I believe this should fix both issues and help you know where to look next.

    Best regards,

in reply to: Event Tickets Plus for free events with QR Code #1312483

Good afternoon Xavier and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

1 – Can I use it with the regular plugin Event Calendar or do I need The Event Calendar PRO plugin?

You can use Event Tickets Plus with the Events Calendar. You do not need the Events Calendar Pro (although that works too).

2 – Do I have to use an e-commerce plugin if I use Event Ticket Plus? The main functionality that I’ll use for the Event Ticket Plus plugin is the QR Code in tickets. I don’t need the e-commerce plugin / selling tickets. All the tickets will be free.

No, you do not need to use an e-commerce plugin if all your tickets are free.

This means you will be using “boosted” RSVP tickets, thanks to Event Tickets Plus.

Another alternative would be to use something like WooCommerce (for its added benefits – reporting, tracking, etc…) and use products that have a cost of zero (free).

3 – If I just want the QR Code functionality, do I need to buy Event Ticket Plus? (I don’t find it in the regular Event Ticket plugin)

Yes, you need to get a copy of Event Tickets Plus to have QR code scanning abilities.

    Good evening and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing with the Community Add form.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.

Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.

Secondly, after a proper Database and plugin backup, would you mind trying to upgrade to the latest version of our plugins to see if the issue persists ?

    Best regards,

Good evening Kyle and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Basically, the simplest solution is a customization.

This would probably be done by customizing our views (you might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works).

You can read about that here: https://theeventscalendar.com/customizations/

If coding is not really your cup of tea, you could always hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.

More specifically you will be interested in the following articles:

    1. https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/how-to-replace-the-out-of-stock-text-on-my-woocommerce-site/
    2. https://snippets.webaware.com.au/snippets/customise-woocommerce-out-of-stock-message/

In other words, you will need to:

    • Check if a ticket is present on a page
    • Check the ticket stock
    • Provide conditionals to display things differently if the stock is zero

Let me know how that goes.

Good evening Jason and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the attendee data disappearing on you. Yikes!
I would love to help you with this topic.

By the sound of it, it looks like there is some type of conflict at play.
    This is usually because of:

    1. A conflict with another plugin (which you have tested)
    2. A conflict with your WordPress theme
    3. A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating

When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.

A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.

But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:

    1. Make a backup of your database
    2. Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)

If that is not possible, could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.

Good evening Arthur and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the experience you had while trying to combine WooCommerce Memberships with our plugins.

I would love to help you with this topic.

We do try our best to be compatible with the largest amount of plugins out there. Especially those related to WooCommerce.

As you can imagine, this is no small endeavour provided the sheer number of them out there.
Unfortunately, that also means that some plugins out there might require some customization in order to work hand-in-hand with ours.

WooCommerce Memberships seems to be one of them.

There is no doubt, that this would be a cool feature to have. I would encourage you to vote for it here: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/13391079-woocommerce-memberships-integration

With that in mind, I will totally report this to our Dev team.
Alas, I cannot guarantee when it will be fixed.

The good news is that you will be contacted as soon as a fix is available.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have unfortunately.

Secondly, I am guessing that the Event Tickets Plus version on  your installation might not be compatible with the latest version of our plugins and of WooCommerce.

This is because your license for Event Tickets Plus ended last February.
If you do not wish to renew a license, it will continue to work, but only as long as you “freeze” your installation (all of our plugins, WordPress  and WooCommerce) to versions that were out at the time of the latest version of your plugin.

    Best regards,

    Bonsoir Brigitte,

    Salutations,

Your developer is right for the most part: you will need to create your own templates to achieve what you are looking for.

So in short, if you want a year view in the short term, building it from scratch is alas the only way to go for now.

The good news however is that a year view is in the works. Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date at this point. But stay tuned!

Perhaps you could have a few different developers form one of our recommended customizers provide you with quotations for that project?

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have unfortunately.
