MemberHowdy Doug!
Looks like this thread is a duplicate. I’ve already replied to the other thread, so I’ll go ahead and close this one so we can keep the conversation going over there instead. ๐

MemberHi Dan,
My name is Geoff and I wanted to chime in because I’ve been following the conversation here and wanted to help clear up a couple of things where I think there have been miscommunication on both sides.
First off, though, I do want to apologize for the issue that was causing our plugins to disable comments. That was indeed a legitimate bug and one that was affected a good number of customers. Thankfully, the issue was reported to us early on and we were able to get a fix out pretty quickly, though we wish the issue had never come up at all, of course.
That said, am I correct in understanding that the most recent maintenance release did not resolve the issue for you? We have received confirmations from many of the customers who had reported this issue that updating to The Events Calendar 4.4.1 and Community Events 4.4.1 cleared things up. If that’s not the case for you, then we absolutely want to keep digging into this with you to see what makes this issue different and how we can patch it up as well.
Here’s what would be super helpful for us as a next step toward confirming the issue still exists and helping us isolate it to a point where we can investigate further:
* Deactivate Disqus and confirm whether default WordPress comments function correctly on your site. You can reactivate Disqus once you have tested.
* Navigate to Events > Help, copy the System Information at the bottom of the screen and paste it here as a private reply. If the default WordPress comments work as expected, then we know that there is a true plugin conflict and we can look into this as a conflict with Disqus. On the flip side, if default WordPress comments do not work as expected, then we will want to do some additional troubleshooting with you and we’d be happy to walk you through that, as long as you are still interested in working with us to isolate the issue so our developers have the information they need to work on it.
Please know that we are genuinely interested in getting of the bottom of this. I can absolutely see, based on your exchange here, how we’ve given you the impression that “it’s your problem, not ours” and I can only assure you that is far from the truth. At the end of the day, we can only guarantee that our plugins are fully compatible with default WordPress, but you can bet that we have an interest in being compatible with as many third-party themes and plugins as possible and, as a result, will still happily look into conflicts with them, though with admittedly less priority than tickets where default WordPress functionality is involved.
Please let us know if you are able to test default WordPress comments for us and provide your System Information in a private reply and we’d be happy to keep looking into this with you from there.
Thanks,
GeoffGeoff
MemberHi @Stuart’s,
Nice work hiding the “Events From” option! Were you able to fix the top spacing as well? I visited your site and it looks like you were able to clear that up as well (screenshot).
Let me know if you still need help with the spacing and I’d be happy to check it out. ๐
Cheers,

MemberOh gosh, I totally missed the first part of your question, which is changing the blue box. You can do that with the following:
.tribe-events-list .tribe-events-loop .tribe-event-featured { background-color: #333; /* or whatever color you would like */ }I hope this helps as well. ๐

MemberHi Annette,
Thanks for getting in touch — your calendar looks great, by the way! Awesome job. ๐
Ah yes, looks like there’s a wrapping issue. Will you please try adding this to your your theme’sย style.css file, or by heading to Appearance > Customize > Advanced CSS:
.tribe-events-list .tribe-events-loop .tribe-event-featured .tribe-events-event-meta { display: none; }Here’s a screenshot of how that looks when I tested it out on your site. Let me know if it does the trick for you as well. ๐
Cheers!

MemberHi Doug,
Sure thing! This is the snippet I shared in the previous thread:
https://gist.github.com/niconerd/466453697713a569dcc97d924340fa01#file-tribe_limit_tickets-php
You can add that to your theme’sย functions.php file. You may or may not need to remove the opening PHP tag based on how your functions file is organized, but the snippet should otherwise work. ๐
Cheers!

MemberHey Emily,
Thanks for reaching out and so sorry about the trouble here with creating recurring events!
I was looking at your System Information (thanks for providing that!) and it looks like you are running The Events Calendar 4.4.0.1 with Events Calendar PRO 4.4.1. Will you please try updating The Events Calendar to 4.4.1 to see if that fixes the issue?
The reason I want to start there is because those two plugins rely on one another and keeping them synced to the same versions often ensures that the functionality of both are in tact.
Hopefully that does the trick but, if not, will you please let mw know and provide me with your updated System Information in a private reply?
Thanks so much!

MemberRight on! I’m so glad to hear everything is working smoothly and I appreciate you following up to let us know. Definitely keep us posted if any other questions come up and we’d be happy to help. ๐

MemberHowdy William,
Yes! You are absolutely correct: Event Series is the correct option forย creating a recurring event.
I know it’s subtle change, but we recently updated that in Version 4.4 because it’s setting the stage for a entire restructure we are doing around recurring events that will make managing a series of related events way cool and very flexible.
We talked about this a little bit in our 4.4 release notes, in case you’re interested. ๐
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know.
Cheers!

MemberHi Kathy,
Thanks for getting in touch! Sounds like you’re working on a pretty awesome project and I really hope our plugins will help.
First off, yes,ย Event Ticketsย is required forย Event Tickets Plus. Event Ticket Plus extends the free version to add more features. ๐
I’ll try to answer each question one-by-one:
1. Selling Bus tours with limited # of seats per tour.
Yes, you can absolutely set a maximum number of tickets per “event” in Event Tickets Plus. That will prevent you from overselling.
2. Each tour will have multiple pick up locations for passengers to board.
Event Tickets Plus does not include location management. However, it does have a feature that allows you to make custom registration fields that customers complete when purchasing their tickets and you could use that to ask riders which location they would like to board.
3. One person needs to be able to purchase multiple tickets and we need to collect a name and pickup location for each ticket.
Yes, this is absolutely supported in Event Tickets Plus. A person can purchase multiple tickets and will be prompted to complete registration fields for each ticket individually.
4. Need to print reports for each tour that will sort by passenger pickup location primarily and then alphabetically by passenger name secondarily. Reports need to include: Passenger Name, Pickup Location, Phone Number, Special Notes, Ticket Number .
There are attendee reports in Event Tickets Plus. Those reports can also be exported in CSV format, which would then allow you to sort the list any way you would like. The reports include all of the custom fields that you create for the tickets.
5. Some bus tours will also include overnight accommodations which will vary the per ticket price based on how many people are sharing 1 room (up to 4) .
This is definitely a tricky thing and I’m not sure that Event Tickets Plus will do exactly what you are looking for here. That said, you can create as many tickets as you would like per event and you can set your tickets at different price points. So, for example, one ticket for a single passenger at $75 and another ticket for 3 passengers at $150.
However, that would require you to be a little creative with how you take tickets to board since a ticket priced for 3 passengers would only generate a single ticket. You can use the custom fields to collect the names of each passenger from there, but there still would only be one sold ticket on record. Like I said, this is where Event Tickets Plus might not be the best fit for you.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. ๐
Cheers!

MemberHi Andy,
Sure thing! You are absolutely correct that Event Tickets Plus is the correct plugin for ticketing.
I do want to note, however, that Event Tickets Plus does not include a feature to limit the number of tickets per purchase. You can, however, use this snippet that one of our technicians wrote in your theme’sย functions.php file and that should set the maximum number of tickets to one:
https://gist.github.com/niconerd/466453697713a569dcc97d924340fa01
Iโve gone ahead and deactivated your license for Events Calendar PRO and exchanged it for a Event Tickets Plus license.
You can access the new license key by logging into your account on our site and navigating to My Account > License Keys. You will also be able to access a download of Event Tickets Plus by navigating to the Downloads screen from there.
Please let me know if you have any questions about your exchanged license and I’d be happy to help!
Cheers,

MemberHi Michael,
So sorry to hear that Events Calendar PRO won’t do the trick for your project, but I’d be more than happy to help you out with a return.
I’ve gone ahead and issued a refund forย your order (#1221134) and the funds should be back in your account within 5-10 business days.
Again, we’re sorry to see you go, but I do hope you keep us in mind on any future sites you work on — we’d love to see you again. ๐
Cheers and have a great weekend!
