MemberHi there, Neha. Thanks for getting in touch and I’d glad to hear you’re interested in going PRO!
Purchasing a license gives you access to download the plugin and receive updates and support for the entire year. At the end of the year, you still get to keep the plugin, but will no longer have access to updates or support. In other words, you do get to keep the plugin at the end and do not need to renew each you if you do not choose to. 🙂
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know.
Cheers!

MemberHey there, Felicia! Thanks for getting in touch.
Just to confirm, do you have Events Calendar PRO or one of our other add-ons installed? Or are you using The Events Calendar on its own?
There unfortunately is no option to select three specific events and have them display on the homepage, though PRO does include a countdown widget that could be used to do something similar. If you have PRO, you can also use the Advanced List Widget and filter it down to show three events from specific categories. So, for example, you could categorize those events in a category called “Featured” set the list widget to only display three events from that category.
Cheers!

MemberHello @bloom360,
A couple quick things to check:
- Recurring Event Instances. Do you have the setting selected to show only the first recurrence in a series (Events > Settings > General) (screenshot). It should only affect list views and it doesn’t appear you have it selected, but want to confirm.
- Create Events in Advance For. This is a setting just a couple of options down from the first last one (screenshot). Do you have this set for a specific number of months?
It would also be helpful to see your system information so I can try to recreate the issue on my own test site. You can grab that at Events > Settings > Help at the bottom of the screen and paste it here as a private reply.
Let’s start here and see what we find!

@staglabel, you’re totally welcome to follow along with the recommendations in this thread. If you’d like direct support, please feel free to hit us up with a new thread and we’ll help you there. 🙂Geoff
MemberHey there, Alex!
That’s a really odd issue and definitely want to check that out with you.
Before we get too deep, will you make sure the latest version of iCal Importer is installed? It looks like you have 3.12 in there now and there is a 3.12.2 available. Let’s see if updating has any impact since it’s possible that one of the last two releases patched up any related bugs.
You may need to remove the events you’ve already imported and try re-importing from there to see if the events continue to import in a weird way. If you have a test or development site where you can test, that might be ideal.
Also, if you want to send me the URL of the iCal feed you’re using, I’d be happy to try it out on my site as well just to cover our bases.
Cheers!

MemberHello Lin,
Thanks for getting back in touch! Sorry the issue is still popping up here, but let’s see if we can piggyback off of the thread you and George worked on together and figure out what’s happening.
First off, will you please provide me with your system information? You provided it in the last thread, but I’d like to see it now that the plugins have been updated just to make sure I have the latest info. The information can be found at Events > Settings > Help. Copy the data at the bottom of the screen and paste it here as a private reply.
In the meantime, I do want to note that there are newer versions of the plugins since you and George last chatted. Please make sure you have the following installed:
- The Events Calendar 3.12.3
- Events Calendar PRO 3.12.4
- Filter Bar 3.12.1
- Community Events 3.12
Let’s start here and see what we find!

MemberHi Laura, and thanks for following up!
I’m afraid the shortcode is the best way to go about it for the time being. That said, you can alter the pieces in the snippet to include the custom work you’ve done. The query in the snippet I linked to is an example and can be modified to suit your needs.

MemberHi Bob,
Thanks a ton for the kind words. 🙂 It does indeed take a team here that puts thousands of hours into each release and knowing that you appreciate that effort makes us smile. Thanks!
I do totally understand and appreciate the need for a specific header that would cater to a specific audience. That would be a possibility with custom development. While I don’t have a tutorial on hand, we do have a Themer’s Guide that outlines the process for creating custom layouts with the calendar as well as a collection of handy functions that are available for reference.
The specific area you will likely want to work with is referred to as the “bar” which is the very top navigation of the calendar. There is a template available that can be used to override the default “bar” and is located in the plugin files at: /src/views/modules/bar.php.
Note that the file is available and ready in the free version of the plugin and PRO is not needed at all to work on that. In fact, if you hit any questions while working on it, please do feel free to hit us up in the open source forum and we’d be happy to help as best we can on our next pass.
Cheers!

MemberHi Jamie!
Just to be clear: you do not need Events Calendar PRO to sell tickets and the additional ticket fields will be part of a different and new plugin altogether.
The Events Calendar (free) and WooCommerce Tickets is all you will need to start creating events and selling tickets for them in the meantime.
You’re exactly right: I personally am unsure if there are any 3rd party plugins that will help achieve the additional fields for products you’re looking for with tickets. However, I do know that WooCommerce has a pretty generous refund policy if things do not work out, as do we.
Does this help clarify things a little further? Let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHi Bob,
The navigation for Month View is actually the same between The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO. While there are no dropdown menus for months and years, there is a datepicker included in the search bar that allows visitors to navigate through time.
Cheers!

MemberIt’s possible the function itself may not work after an update, but it won’t break the calendar itself.
Thanks,

MemberHey Matt, and sorry for the issue here!
I think that snippet is a little dated because it’s missing some name-spacing that we’ve introduced in newer versions. Try this snippet instead and let me know if that makes a difference instead.
Thanks!
GeoffOctober 26, 2015 at 5:23 pm in reply to: Can events display in a lightbox vs. a separate page? #1018732Geoff
MemberHey David,
Good question. I believe that would be possible, but it would take a fair mount of custom work to make it happen.
For example, you might want to change the link to an event to call a modal and then inject the single event template (or elements from it) into the modal.
There may be other ways to go about it as well, but it will ultimately depend on what tools you use for the lightbox/modal and go from there. Note that events are posts at the end of the day, so you can also grab the post attributes and use them wherever you would like. See our documentation for more info. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHello @ibhifn, and welcome to the forums!
If I’m understanding correctly then, yes, the page from The Events Calendar should take the place of any other page that uses the same /events slug.
You can change the slug for either the calendar or the other page–whichever one you do not want to be at /events.
If you happen to change it for the calendar, you can do so at Events > Settings.
Let me know if any other questions pop up when you make that change.
Thanks!
