MemberHello Diane,
Sorry for the trouble here! That’s definitely a strange issue and one I haven’t seen pop up before.
I see you tried deactivating all other plugins and switching to a default WordPress theme. Did you happen to notice any difference when doing that? How about when doing both of those together?
Also, please try the steps outlined here. They resolve most 404 issues in the calendar and are worth trying.
Let’s start here and see what we find. Hopefully it helps but, if not, I’ll want to try some deeper troubleshooting steps.
Thanks!

MemberHello Melissa–nice to see you again!
EDD Tickets itself only sends one email, which is actually the one customers get when receiving their purchased ticket. The rest come from Easy Digital Downloads directly.
I’m not sure how to disable those emails myself, but I did find this plugin that the EDD author wrote a while back to disable those notifications. It’s quite old, but certainly worth checking out. If it does the trick, great! If not, it might be worth reaching out directly to EDD support to see if there’s an updated way to do that.
Cheers!

MemberHey @webgrain,
I see what you mean! That’s definitely not expected behavior. In fact, I was unable to get the same thing to happen on my own test site when using a default WordPress installation.
I see you tried deactivated all other plugins. Did that have any effect? The next thing I would try is switching to a default WordPress theme–actually it would be a great idea to walk through the steps outlined in this troubleshooting guide in full. That will help explain why the search would reset on your site but not when I try it on my test site.
In the meantime, it would also be super handy to have your system information. If you head to Events > Settings > Help, you an copy the information at the bottom of the screen and paste it here as a private reply. That will help me look for possible red flags and go even deeper to try to recreate the issue myself.
Let’s start here and see what we find. 🙂
Thanks!

MemberHello @amy!
Thanks for chiming in–you’re totally welcome to follow along and use the solutions provided here. If you’d like direct support, I’d recommend opening a new thread and we’d be happy to help you there.
In the meantime, it appears as though your News section uses a different query than the page you linked me to. My hunch would be that the same technique I provided above will be sufficient if you change it from the main_query to the one being used on the News template. When you open your thread, it would be super helpful to provide the query that’s already being used for News–which you can find in either the News template or in your theme’s functions.php file.
Cheers!

MemberAre you able to list the ones that aren’t working–or is it all the ones you mentioned above? I may need to get in touch with George (who wrote that function for you) to see if there’s something tricky about the ones that are not working.
Thanks!
GeoffGeoff
MemberHey there and thanks for getting in touch!
That’s an interesting question–I’m afraid it is not possible for someone to do a front-end submission of a Facebook event.
It’s sort of a combination between our Facebook Events and Community Events plugins. Totally neat idea and one I’m not sure we’ve considered before.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know.
Cheers,

MemberHello Peter!
You can remove the sidebar by heading to Events > Settings > Display and switching your calendar template to the Default Events Template option. Save the setting using that and let me know if that helps do the trick. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHey Josh,
That’s an EXCELLENT idea. Thanks for sharing that here and for the examples as well. That’s pretty awesome.
Advanced Custom Fields might be a little easier than having to manage those in the code yourself. I still think this would be an excellent idea to share in our feature request forum though, so please do drop it in there if you have a moment. I can see how that would be super helpful to manage right out of the box rather than relying on custom code or third-party plugins.
Cheers!

MemberSorry, but no, it was not addressed in the latest version. The ticket is still open and we’ll be sure to follow-up when we have more to share.
Thanks for following up!
GeoffGeoff
MemberThanks for the link!
Do the ones that work happen to be the ones with the parentheses in the title? I’m wondering if the special characters are interfering in some way.
Cheers!
GeoffGeoff
MemberSure thing. Thanks and sorry again for the mixup at the start. 🙂
Cheers,
