Thanks April, the link helps a lot! I do also want to mention that your calendar looks very nice–awesome work with the customizations. 🙂

Yeah, it does looks as though your archive is working:
    https://cvm.ncsu.edu/events/list/?tribe_paged=1&tribe_event_display=past

That means the events are still accessible on the front end of the site–which is a good thing because it means the events are not missing once they’ve “passed.”

had been posted and featured on our home page in the events feed: cvm.ncsu.edu for several months. (Scroll down to see calendar), then today- the day of the event, the item no longer appeared as an item.

That’s certainly odd behavior behavior because the widget you have on the homepage (by default) looks for the end time of an event before determining whether an event has past or not.

So, for example, your next event takes place tonight at 6:30pm. I see it in the feed right now and, once it starts, it should stay in the feed until the event has reached it’s end time, at 8:00pm.

If it doesn’t continue to display up until the end time of the event, then I’m wondering if perhaps there is something else at play, whether it’s a timezone issue or perhaps a conflict with a customization.

I see you’ve already tried the following:
    <ul class=”meta”>
<li class=”troubleshoot_plugins”>Deactivated all other plugins? Yes
    <li class=”troubleshoot_theme”>Switched to a default theme? Yes

Did you notice any difference in either of those conditions? How about when you deactivate all other plugins and switch to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Fifteen)? Does that change anything?

It might be hard to test this in a live environment, so it would be ideal if you could set this up on a test site so we have more events to to test.

Thanks for your cooperation so far as we try to figure this out!

    Hi Sylvain,

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry for the trouble here with Map View–let’s see if we can figure this out together!

I see what you mean. The List View displays events, but nothing displays in Map View.

I have seen this happen before and it’s usually because the Google Maps API does not fully recognize the address of the event. Will you please try heading to Events > Settings and scroll down to the Map Settings section? There is an option to “Fix venue data” and clicking that should correct any geolocation issues with any of the venues on the site.

Let me know if that helps do the trick. If it doesn’t we can try something else. 🙂

    Thanks!

    Hi April,

    Thanks for getting in touch!

Can you elaborate on this a little more? All events should be archived and accessible even after they have passed. Do you have a link you can point me to where I can see you calendar to make sure your past events archive is active?

    Thanks!

Hey Mike and thanks for getting in touch!

Good question. Events Calendar PRO does not include WooCommerce Tickets. They are two separate plugins with their own features. Also, you do not need PRO in order to use WooCommerce Tickets.

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

    Hey @flaws72,

Sorry for trouble here with List View! Let’s see if we can get this back on track.

First off, will you please check and make sure the latest versions of The Events Calendar (3.12.3), Events Calendar PRO (3.12.5) and Community Events (3.12) are installed? I just want to make sure we’re looking at the same versions together.

From there, it would also be nice to see your system information. Will you please snag it at the bottom of the Events > Settings > Help screen and paste it here as a private reply? That will help me spot any red flags and try to replicate the issue myself on a test site.

Lastly, will you please follow the steps outlined in this troubleshooting guide? It will help us determine if there are any conflicts between The Events Calendar and your theme or possible another installed plugin.

Let’s start here and see what we find. 🙂

    Thanks!

Thanks for the extra info! This helps a lot.

It looks like you are currently running:

    • The Events Calendar 3.10.1
    • Events Calendar PRO 3.10.1
    • WooCommerce Ticket 3.10

This missing navigation was indeed an issue back then that has since been resolved in new versions. These are what are currently available:

    • The Events Calendar 3.12.3
    • Events Calendar PRO 3.10.5
    • WooCommerce Ticket 3.12

I would recommend updating to fix the issue. At the same time, I do want to caution that there have been some significant other updates to the plugins since 3.10. Please be sure to read through our release notes and I would high suggest testing the updates in a development environment (and backing up your work) before pushing anything to production, as you would with any other WordPress update, especially if you’ve made any customizations to the calendar.

I hope this helps shed some light on the issue!

Hey there, Alex! Thanks for following up.

I tried importing the events onto my test site and everything appears to be correct. Just to confirm, which event are you specifically referring to that stretching longer than it should? Is it the “C Our Story” Event? I see it is scheduled for 10/1-10/28. I have a feeling there are others you are referring to based on looking at your calendar, but let’s start with one example and see if we can trace it from there.

What happens if you delete all of your existing events and only import the events from today forward?

Thanks for your patience as we work on this together!

Shoot, that’s a bummer to hear. Thanks for following up and letting us know–it’s good for us to have on our radar, for sure.

    Hi Kevin,

I can give you step-by-step instructions but I’ll have to leave the actual work of making it happen to you.

    Here’s how I would proceed:

    • Register a new sidebar area. WordPress has good documentation on how to do this. You may even be able to leverage a another plugin to help, like this one, though I have not used it personally or tested it with The Events Calendar.
    • Make a copy of the default-template.php file. It is located in The Events Calendar’s plugin folder under /src/views/default-template.php.
    • Make a new folder in your theme directory called tribe-events
    • Drop the copied version of the <i>default-template.php</i> file in that folder
    • Add the widget area you created to the template. Again, WordPress has solid documentation including how to do this with a custom widget area.
    • Change your calendar settings to use the default events template. You can do this under Events > Settings > Display.

I hope this helps get you started!
