ParticipantWe have some recurring events that end “Never”. The events themselves do have occurences already created for several years in the future. However, the Calendar view ends this year and for the life of me, cannot find if there is a setting for that?
Please see the screenshot: http://snag.gy/i4MHW.jpg
There is no link to move past December even though -as mentioned above- there are indeed events already for next year… and year after.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!

MemberHello @bloom360,
A couple quick things to check:
- Recurring Event Instances. Do you have the setting selected to show only the first recurrence in a series (Events > Settings > General) (screenshot). It should only affect list views and it doesn’t appear you have it selected, but want to confirm.
- Create Events in Advance For. This is a setting just a couple of options down from the first last one (screenshot). Do you have this set for a specific number of months?
It would also be helpful to see your system information so I can try to recreate the issue on my own test site. You can grab that atΒ Events > Settings > HelpΒ at the bottom of the screen and paste it here as a private reply.
Let’s start here and see what we find!

ParticipantHi Geoff,
To answer your questions:
1. Yes it is set to show all occurrences
2. It is also set to generate events 24 months in advance. In fact the events ARE there, I can see them in LIST mode. The issue is specifically the calendar view that ends with the current year. Many thanks

MemberThanks for the extra info! This helps a lot.
It looks like you are currently running:
- The Events Calendar 3.10.1
- Events Calendar PRO 3.10.1
- WooCommerce Ticket 3.10
This missing navigation was indeed an issue back then that has since been resolved in new versions. These are what are currently available:
- The Events Calendar 3.12.3
- Events Calendar PRO 3.10.5
- WooCommerce Ticket 3.12
I would recommend updating to fix the issue. At the same time, I do want to caution that there have been some significant other updates to the plugins since 3.10. Please be sure to read through our release notes and I would high suggest testing the updates in a development environment (and backing up your work) before pushing anything to production, as you would with any other WordPress update, especially if you’ve made any customizations to the calendar.
I hope this helps shed some light on the issue!
Geoff

ParticipantI had the same problem – until I adjusted the formatting of dates (for the first to options equally – currently I do not have access to the site, so I cannot tell exactly how they are named)
Try if it works for you

ParticipantI am having the same problem, calendar won’t go past December 2015
Using the latest version of WordPress and Events Calendar Pro
*nevemrind* it was because I didn’t have events created beyond December 2015
Is there a way to allow users to proceeding forward to months without events? Users may want to see where days fall in future months prior to an event being created?
I suppose I could create a dummy event far into the future

MemberHello @bloom360! Thanks a ton for updating the plugins and for providing the additional information–that help a lot and I appreciate it. π
It looks like the system information recognizes the “latest” date in the calendar as Dec. 28, 2015, at 11:59pm. Do you have a link to an event that is later than that you could link me to? That would be helpful.
One other thing I notice is that you have WordPress 3.9.3 installed. Is it at all possible to update WordPress, or is that not a possibility for you? Totally understand if it’s not.
Either way, it would be worth testing to see if an updated version of WordPress solves the issue. Before we go that route, will you please try the steps outlined in this guide? It will help us determine if there are any conflicts with the theme or any other plugins before we start looking at the WordPress level.
If we do need to test things at the WordPress level and are unable to update WordPress on your live site, do you happen to have a test site where we do that?
@mlcmm–thanks for chiming in here! Glad to see you were able to resolve the issue on your own there. There is no way to “fast forward” the calendar when there are no events in the future, but your idea of putting a dummy event in there would certainly do the trick. Please feel free to open up a new thread if you have additional questions about that and we’d be happy to help you there. πCheers!

ParticipantIt changed both the Date format settings of Date with year and Date without year to d/m/Y (e.g.)
With different setting I had the effect of the missing next year.October 29, 2015 at 3:22 pm #1020060Geoff
MemberThanks for chiming in, Marc! Perhaps that’s another route @bloom360 can try if the suggestions I offered above do not pan out.

ParticipantHi Marc. Many, many thanks for trying to help π
I tried changing it but no luck. I am not sure though if changing the date settings only takes effect when new events are generated or if it will retroactively change existing ones?
Geoff: Here’s a list of events that go well into 2017: http://www.swic.com.au/groupevent/tennis-ns/all/ (you will need to login with the credentials I sent privately)
I pulling my hair out :-/
