I am trying to view my events by a category listing. I installed wp-page navi. I added the function for wp page-navi to my custom events template and I see the pagination. However, it seems that it doesn’t matter how many events I add… it still does not work and just shows “1 of 1”. I have gone into the settings of wp-page navi and set it up so that the pagination appears after two events. I feel like I am missing something and I am having trouble finding any documentation on this site.

    Hi there, Laura!

I looked into this and see there are a couple of rough spots where The Events Calendar and WP-PageNavi do not fully integrate with one another.

That said, we do have a tutorial that includes a snippet I thinkĀ might do the trick. Will you please give it a try and let me know if it helps fix the pagination issue?

    Thanks!

Thanks but the shortcode does not help me. I already have a full custom template built (which was not a small feat). I don’t want to rebuild everything to use this shortcode. The links that are being generated are the wrong links. Can you please look at this new URL? The page links at the bottom show the post and then /page/2 That page does not exist so the page just refreshes when you click. This happens wherever I use pagination. The pagination is not looking for the events, it is looking for further pages to each specific event. What am I missing in my query?

Hi Laura, and thanks for following up!

I’m afraid the shortcode is the best way to go about it for the time being. That said, you can alter the pieces in the snippet to include the custom work you’ve done. The query in the snippet I linked to is an example and can be modified to suit your needs.
