December 22, 2015 at 8:07 am in reply to: Possible to limit total stock (across ticket types)? #1045402
Geoff
MemberThat is a great question, Fabian. Unfortunately, the plugin only allows to limit individual ticket stock at the moment rather than the global stock of all tickets for an event.
This is something we’ve started working on and has been a long-time wish list item for us and customers alike. We hope to have it in an upcoming release!
Sorry for the bad news, but does this help answer your question? Please let me know.
Thanks,
GeoffGeoff
MemberRight on! Nice work @dcantato! Thanks a ton for reaching out and sharing the solution–I’m certain this will help others as well. 🙂

MemberHi Simon,
The date format can be configured in Events > Settings > Display. You can refer to the WordPress date formatting guide to configure things exactly as you’d like them to display.
Did you have any pre-sales questions for us that I can help answer? If you’re looking for technical support, please hit us up in the PRO forums and we’d be happy to help you there. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHeck yeah! Nice work and thanks for the heads up, Sebastian! That would’ve stumped me on first glance, so it’s nice to know how that works.
@websource — I’m going to go ahead and close this thread since it was marked Resolved, but please feel free to hit us with a new thread if you would like or need more support here.Cheers!

MemberHey Adrian,
Good question! I really wish I could say that you could collect the information for multiple people in a single purchase, but I’m afraid that’s not the case. At the moment, the plugin will only collect information from the person purchasing those tickets.
We have started working on that feature, though, and plan to have it in a future release. I don’t have a target date for it, but if you add your vote to the link above then you will be notified when it ships. It’s been a long-time-a-comin’ and we’re really excited to finally be working on it.
Sorry for the bad news, but does this at least help answer your question? Please let me know.
Thanks!

MemberHey Wolfgang,
Man, I know…we’re actually talking about the idea of a subscribe button on threads and are hoping to add it in a future release to the site here. That would help both customers and the team here alike!
I actually do not have the CSS classes off hand, but we do have a great tutorial on how to locate them. You can use that then add the classes to your CSS plugin to hide those elements.
Cheers!

MemberHey Elizabeth,
No worries! Did you activate the plugin? You can check by heading to Plugins > Installed Plugins from the WordPress dashboard.
If it is active and the break is not there, then it’s likely that it is not doing what you are looking for.
Basically, it restores the ability for HTML (like bolding and italics)Â to display in excerpts the way default WordPress does.
The problem though is that I do not believe default WordPress displays horizontal rules in excerpts like you have in the content description.
Another way to test would be to add a custom excerpt to the event post. If you head to the event post editor, there should be a Excerpt meta box lower on the screen (screenshot) where you can add your custom text, including HTML. Add your horizontal rule there and see if it renders in the List View.
And, if that doesn’t work, then I’m afraid it will take some custom development which it sounds like you’ve been looking into.
Let me know what shakes out and hopefully it displays on its own.
Cheers!

MemberGotcha. Yes, we do have other Dutch translators contributing to the project, so it likely is a personal taste or interpretation.
You’re always welcome to add your personal taste or interpretation to the language files. And, if you do, please feel free to contribute them to the community–we’re always stoked to see those come in if you have time,

GeoffDecember 22, 2015 at 7:26 am in reply to: Change wording of text or string in other language #1045361Geoff
MemberHi Marcel,
Thanks for following up!
Does the snippet from the tutorial work if you start with the untranslated string rather than the translated one? So, for example, if you were translating “Venue” you would continue to use “Venue” as the starting point for the snippet as opposed to the translated version. Does that work?
If that does not work then, from what I understand, you have a few options:
- Update the translation files
- Manage translations in the Say What plugin
- Write a new function that handles the translation
I know you are opposed to the idea of using another plugin like Say What, but I really do think it is worth a try. It essentially does what the snippet in the tutorial does and what updating a language file does while keeping those updates isolated from your other theme functions and language files in order to prevent conflicts are overwriting changes when the theme and plugins are updated.

MemberHello Ananadamayi,
Thanks for reaching out!
Recurring events is a feature of Events Calendar PRO, so you would need to purchase that in order to enable them.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

MemberHowdy Dan,
Good question. You can create as many types of RSVPs for an event if you have Event Tickets installed with The Events Calendar.
If you want to sell tickets instead of doing RSVPs, then Event Tickets Plus would allow you to create as many ticket types as you’d like for an event. You would just need to install WooCommerce as well in order for people to check out and make a purchase.
does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

MemberHey Wolfgang,
Good question! While a date is required in order to publish an event, a workaround for you might be to hide those dates on the front end using CSS.
Would that be a fitting solution for you? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers,

MemberHi there, Guillaume!
Thanks so much for getting in touch. 🙂
Good question. You will only need to purchase one plugin, Event Tickets Plus.
From there, you can download these three plugins and you should be all set:
that will allow you to create events, make tickets, and sell tickets all from your site.
Does that help a bit? Please let me know.
Cheers!
