    Hello @Gunter,

Thanks for getting in touch and for your patience while the forums have been closed for the holidays. We’re still technically closed a few more days but I’m happy to help at least get started with you on this.

I just tried creating a recurring event with exclusions, then updating the series. The events that were excluded before were still excluded after updating the series.

That means we’re going to have to do a little more troubleshooting to see what is different on your site that might cause that to happen.

Would you be willing to provide a little more detail? If you could provide me a bulletpoint step-by-step process of the steps you are following from publishing the series to editing it and the steps in between, that will help me make sure I’m doing the same.

Secondly, will you please follow the steps outlined in this article? It will help us determine if there are any conflicts that might be getting in the way of things functioning properly.

Lastly, will you please share your system information with me? You can grab that at Events > Settings > Help, then paste it here as a private reply.

Let’s start there and see what we can find. 🙂

    Thanks!

    Hi @Adlava,

Thanks so much for your patience while the forums have been closed over the holidays! We’re still technically closed, but I’m happy to at least get the ball moving on this and help as best I can. 🙂

How strange! I’ve gone into my test site and checked the weekly recurring options and they all seem to be there (screenshot). The same is true when trying other recurring options as well, such as Daily and Monthly.

I see you tried the following:

    • Deactivated all other plugins? Yes
    • Switched to a default theme? Yes

Did you happen to notice anything different in those conditions? How about when plugins are deactivated and a default WordPress theme is activated at the same time?

Also, would you be willing to share your system information with me? You can snag that at Events > Settings > Help and paste it here as a private reply. That will help me review your settings and see if there’s something different from mine that would trigger that sort of behavior.

Let’s start there and see what we find. 🙂

    Thanks!

    Hi Peter,

Thanks for your patience while the forums have been closed over the holidays! We’re still technically closed for a few more days, but I’ll do my best to help you out here in the meantime to at least get things rolling. 🙂

I see what you mean! When importing events from the Google Calendar URL, I see both of those events listed twice. And, when opening the .ics file itself, I see that they are set to be recurring events that span more than two instances.

I’ve opened a ticket for this in our system so we can work on it. I don’t have a timeframe for when it will be patched, but I’ll mark this thread Pending Fix in the meantime and will be sure to follow-up with you when updates are available.

So sorry for the trouble, but thanks for bringing this up!

    Hello @rubypink,

Sorry for the delayed reply! The forums are closed for the holidays, though some of us are checking in from time-to-time.

I’m having a tough time getting the same issue with duplicate events. I’ve set up a recurring import for every 30 minutes and the correct events import each time, without re-importing any existing events or duplicating the events that are newly imported.

That doesn’t mean it’s not an issue–just that we’re going to have to do more troubleshooting to figure out what’s happening here.

First off, let’s make sure you’re on the latest versions. You have The Events Calendar 4.0.4 and iCal Importer 4.0.2 installed, correct? Will you please update (if needed) and then copy your system information (Events > Settings > Help) and paste it here as a private reply? That will give me info on your calendar settings so I can get a better view of what we’re working with.

Next, I see you have tried:

    • Deactivated all other plugins? Yes
    • Switched to a default theme? Yes

Did you happen to notice any difference in either of those conditions? How about when all over plugins are deactivated and a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Fifteen) are activated at the same time?

Thirdly, would you be willing to share the iCal address you are using to import? I’ll try that on my test site just to see if there could be something on that end.

Let’s start there and see what we find. If we’re unable to pinpoint anything from there, then I’ll want to try a deeper form of troubleshooting.

    Thanks for your help!

@eightgr, I also want to add that you are certainly welcome to follow along as Tommy and I continue to troubleshoot the issue together. If you’d prefer direct support, please do open a new thread and we’d be happy to help you there.

And, when you do, please be as descriptive as possible (including steps to replicate the issue) and provide your system information up front — those will go a long way in helping us. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hi Tommy,

I also showed you videos of the issues and Geoff you seem to be ignoring the issue i’ve showed you.

I can assure you I have not been ignoring the issue, Tommy. Where we currently stand, I (and others on the team) have been unable to replicate the issue as you’ve reported it and I have asked you questions in the last reply that was directed to you and am waiting for those to be answered. The video you showed me initially is great, but what you were showing me does not answer the questions I asked later in later responses.

By now, you and I have had a history of threads together and we should be at a much better place working together than to resort to harsh wording and accusations. You know that I am helping and will continue to help as best I can, but I will need you to please cooperate so this discussion can be as productive as possible.

So you guys need to completely ignore eigthgr’s issue as being apart of this issue in this thread

Our policy is always is support the person who opened the thread ahead of anyone else who has chimed in. Anyone who chimes–as is customary–will be acknowledged but are also encouraged to open a new thread if they would like direct support. You’ve chimed into other threads in this forum and have received that same level of service.

In other words, Tommy, you have our ears and you can be assured that you’re top priority in this thread.

Even the issue that eigthgr is mentioning should not be happening. We should not be doing this trick and that to trick to get the plugin to work properly. It should work right out of the box. If someone puts something in there cart, i don’t care, it should not drop the available ticket down until the API from PayPal states a ticket was paid for.

I hear that you believe that is not how things should work, but that is how the transaction process was designed to flow. A ticket in the cart is equal to a ticket taken out of inventory, at which time the transaction moves to Pending Payment. Canceling an order is not a “trick” in order for things to work properly, but we’d be happy to consider any ideas you have for revising the process if you want to drop those in our feature request forum. Any further discussion on this ought to be moved there since it is out of scope and distracting from the issue we’re trying to solve here in this thread.

I have 20 tickets for sale. For no reason it will show 16 tickets for sale. I go into the back end and manually change it back to 20 and it goes to 22….!? Then it changes back to 18 or some shit like that.

I think we need to hit a reset button to get back on the same page. In that spirit, the next thing I would like to try here is creating a fresh test site–this will avoid any disruption to your live site and ensure that we’ve effectively got a “clean canvas” to work with that’s separate from your existing staging site.

    • Please install a fresh copy of WordPress in a subdirectory
    • Don’t install anything except The Events Calendar 4.0.4, Events Calendar PRO 4.0.3, Event Tickets 4.0.4, and Event Tickets Plus 4.0.4
    • Please also stick to a default WordPress theme for the time being–again, there’s no need to install anything else just yet
    • Create a new event with tickets so we have some test data to work with
    • Can you replicate the same problem?
    • If you find you can replicate the problem under these conditions it would be awesome if you could stop right there and let us know so we can take a look while the site is still running under default conditions.

    Thanks for your help!

Yes, please! The theme folder would be perfect. 🙂

In the meantime, have you tried activating Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus when all other (non-Modern Tribe) plugins are deactivated?

    Thanks!

    Hi Robert,

One way to do this would be to use a template override (more on this in our themer’s guide) on the default-template.php file to wrap the calendar content in a conditional statement that only displays the calendar if a user is logged into your site.

Here is how the code would look for the template:

Does this help get you started? Please let me know. 🙂

Hey there and welcome to the forums!

Good question. The Events Calendar does indeed include an RSS feed (/events/feed) that can be used to feed content from one site to another, assuming the other site is set up to accept and display RSS feeds.

Another possibly, if the other site uses The Events Calendar, is to use our iCal Importer on the other site. That will allow you to automatically import events from the first site to the other on a scheduled basis. That does require that the other site is on WordPress and uses The Events Calendar though.

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know.

    Cheers!

    Hi Richard,

Sure! That would be possible by writing a custom filter for the events posts. I haven’t tested this thoroughly, but that could look something like this:

Does this help get you started? Please let me know if you have any pre-sales questions about the plugins and I’d be happy to help.

    Cheers,

Hello Kate and thanks for getting in touch!

Good question. The plugin should display only the date of the event if it is set to an all-day event (screenshot). Is that not the case for you?

In the meantime, please do reach out to us over on our contact page so we can help you regain access to your account–select the “help accessing my account” option. That will be the best way to make sure you get the technical support you need for questions like this.

    Thanks!
