MemberHi Giorgio, thanks for getting in touch!
Yes, our plugins will do everything you noted. This is the combination of plugins you will want to check out:
- The Events Calendar (free) – This is our core plugin that allows you to create events posts on your site in a calendar format.
- Event Tickets (free) – This plugin enables you to create RSVPs for events and sets the framework for selling tickets.
- Event Tickets Plus – This plugin connects Event Tickets to WooCommerce so that you can create and sell tickets.
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers,
GeoffGeoff
MemberHi Michael,
Oh shoot, so sorry for the trouble! I know there are a lot of plugins available and choosing the right combination of things can get confusing — I’ve totally been there and am happy to help.
First off, yes, Community Tickets does require a few other plugins:
- The Events Calendar (free) – This is our core plugin that allows you to create events posts on your site in a calendar format.
- Event Tickets (free) – This plugin enables you to create RSVPs for events and sets the framework for selling tickets.
- Event Tickets Plus – This plugin connects Event Tickets to WooCommerce so that you can create and sell tickets.
- Community Events – This plugin allows guests to submit events to your calendar without logging into WordPress dashboard.
And where does Community Tickets fit in? It’s the bridge that closes the gap between Community Events and Event Tickets Plus that allows your guests to create and sell tickets for the events they submit to your calendar.
We do offer a bundle called the Community Manager Bundle that packages the premium plugins together at a steep discount. I know you’ve already purchased Community Events, but I would be happy to help you refund that purchase so that you can save with the bundle. Let me know and I can help make that happen.
I am also confused what is the difference between Events Calendar PRO and Events Calendar Community and if I need to make an additional purchase as well for the filter bar plugin?
Good news is that the Community Manager Bundle includes Filter Bar, so you may be totally covered in the single purchase.
Events Calendar PRO is an extension to The Events Calendar (again, our free core calendar plugin) that adds additional views and features such as recurring events, advanced widgets, custom fields, and other goodies. It does not include Filter Bar; in other words, they are two separate plugins with different functionalities. There is a handy chart at the very bottom of this page that shows the PRO features.
So sorry again for the confusion! Does this help clarify things a bit? Please let me know if you have any other questions and I’d be happy to help as best I can.
Cheers,
GeoffGeoff
MemberNo worries at all, Lain! I’m happy to help. 🙂
Would you be willing to send me a link to that event? I was trying to find a event on your site with tickets but had no luck. If I can see the event, then that will allow me to mess with the CSS a bit and hopefully provide you with a snippet you can use to style the form so that it doesn’t break like that.
Or, if you’d prefer, we do have a tutorial on how to do exactly what I’m going to do, which is inspect the CSS in the browser.
Thanks so much!

MemberHey Shannon,
I head up support here for Modern Tribe and just wanted to chime into this thread because Cliff brought it to my attention.
First off, It’s clear you’re frustrated that we haven’t been able to deliver the answer you are looking for. I can assure you we are committed to getting to the bottom of both the country name and the update issues you’ve experienced.
It’s also worth keeping in mind that this is the first we have heard either of these reports. They may be completely valid and correct but, because of the fact that we have not encountered these issues in the past, it will certainly take some work on both our parts to pin down exactly what’s happening. I realize that testing for conflicts, screenshots and debugging methods can be both cumbersome and time-consuming, but it’s important we cover all our bases here so that we can replicate the issue for the sake of being able to correct it for all people. As it currently stands, we have been unable to replicate either issue and, while that suggests the issue may be in your configuration, we’re still interested in working with you to see if the issue is truly localized and how to resolve it–whether that is something we need to do on our end or if the issue is stemming from something else completely.
To that end, let’s address these issues one at a time:
All the location and organizer information is missing now from Photo View, which is the default view for my site. This information was visible before, and now isn’t. Please tell me how to revert back to the presentation I expect.
We have dug back several versions of the plugin dating to early last year, read through the release notes and confirmed with developers who have worked on the plugin throughout that time but have simply been unable to find any reference to showing either Organizer or Venue information in the calendar’s Photo view.
That doesn’t mean you’re wrong; it just means we are unable to (1) trace when that feature was available and (2) pinpoint what code would have changed that.
What would be helpful is knowing what version of the plugins you were using and what you updated to when you noticed the change. That will give us a concrete starting point to re-install those versions, compare the release notes, and patch it up in an upcoming release.
At the very least, we are able (and happy) to help you create a template override for the Photo View that would show that information, regardless of the outcome of what we find (or don’t find).
Additionally, when I try to upgrade my PRO plugin, it sometimes does not ‘activate’ after upgrading. When this happens, my PRO settings are wiped out, including defaulting to Photo View, and I have to reset them after I activate the plugin again.
Please, I would very much appreciate less pain when I update the plugins I have paid for. No surprises or changes to presentation without notice.
That is awful to hear and I’m sorry for the trouble! We only introduce “breaking” changes to the plugins on major releases. For example, we are currently at The Events Calendar 4.1.3. The next release, 4.1.4, will be a minor one without breaking changes. 4.2 is coming up and may introduce a few breaking changes and, if so, we do our best to note those in our blog and our email newsletter. For example, here is our last notice of breaking changes for 4.1. The next major release,5.0, will certainly introduce breaking changes and we will be sure to document those thoroughly.
We are always cautious about breaking changes and, in most cases, an update will not break an installation or change any settings. In fact, we do not touch a customer’s database during any update and would be unable to change those settings since that is where they are stored. Where we see issues like that pop up is when there have been customizations to the plugins. If you’ve modified core code, then that will certainly be lost on update. And, as you already know, we recommend using template overrides in a child theme to prevent lost changes on theme updates — so nice work on that!
I really am truly sorry for the frustrations up to this point. I do hope that this helps clarify why Cliff has asked the questions he has so far and helps frame the conversation for more questions to come as we continue to dig into this together. Also, know that while Cliff is responding to you directly, he is talking with me and others on the team as we all put our eyes on this together with you.
Sincerely,
GeoffGeoff
MemberMy pleasure! I’ll keep this thread open for now in case any other questions pop up.
I do want to point out that we have a pretty great return policy and you have a full month to give any of our plugins a try to make sure they will work with your exact configuration. It’s a great way to test drive things without getting locked in.
Cheers!

MemberHey Miro, welcome to the forums. 🙂
I’m afraid there is no setting to disable the options or post types for Venues and Organizers. However, it os one of those things that you can decide to use or not use and are not required for actually publishing events.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know.
Thanks,
GeoffGeoff
MemberGreat questions.
So, what does it cost to sell “tickets” on a calendar and accept paypal payments?
The cost of selling products depends on the payment gateway being used. PayPal charges a fee for every transaction but our plugin will never charge a dime.
Here’s more information on how to set up PayPal with WooCommerce: https://docs.woothemes.com/document/paypal-standard/
What plugin’s do I need and what’s the total price?
To start selling tickets, there are two plugins you need from us:
- Event Tickets (free). This provides the ability to create RSVPs and sets the framework for selling tickets.
- Event Tickets Plus ($89). This connects Event Tickets with WooCommerce so that customers can check out using a shopping cart and you can accept payments using PayPal.
From there, you can grab WooCommerce for free, configure it for PayPal and start selling!
We need to register people for classes and have them pay online.
That’s exactly what Event Tickets Plus will help do People can choose how many tickets, then complete information to to register for the event during checkout.
Oops – and have a calendar for them to see when the classes are available, click on class, then register
Great! We have a free calendar plugin called The Events Calendar that will do exactly that.
Does this help clarify things a bit more and answer your questions?
Cheers!

MemberYou bet, happy to help! I know that can be confusing, so kudos to you for checking with us first! We’re always happy to help as best we can.
Speaking of which, definitely let us know if any other questions pop up or if there is anything else you are looking for in the plugins. We have a whole set of additional features that can be added to the calendar, if you ever need anything in addition to what the theme includes. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberThanks Kevin!
The approach we’re taking is going to be an overhaul of our calendar shortcodes. We’re working on that now and, when done, you would be able to embed your main calendar view anywhere you would like.
I see you marked this thread as Resolved, so I’ll go ahead and close it. Thanks again for reaching out and definitely let us know if any other questions come up–we’d be happy to help. 🙂

MemberHey Emily,
I know exactly what you mean! This comes up every so often — it’s so hard to integrate with all the various themes out there. 🙂
One thing that often works is to head to Events > Settings > Display and change the calendar template to use one of your theme templates instead of the default event template (screenshot). This will at least put your theme’s template to use and, if you have a sidebar area registered to that template, then it will render on the page.
Does this make sense and will it work for you? Please let me know.
Cheers!

MemberAh, gotcha! Then, yes, it seems like there may be more work needed to create posting packages like that. I wish I had some recommendations to make, but nothing is jumping out at me.
I love the idea though and will be sure to share it with the team — you may also want to consider adding it to our feature request forum. I can definitely see how that would be helpful.
Cheers,
GeoffGeoff
MemberThanks for doing that, Sergio!
Themes conflicts are very tough for us since we are not familiar with the theme codebase. In these kinds of circumstances, reaching out to the theme author is going to be your best bet for getting a solid answer.
One thing to check for is whether the theme also uses the Google Maps API. If it does, then that can certainly lead to conflicts since the API is being called twice. In that case, the theme author might be able to provide you with a snippet to dequeue the theme’s Google Maps API call on events posts/pages.
Sorry I don’t have a concrete answer for you here, but I hop this at least helps get the ball rolling in the right direction. And, of course, I’m happy to leave this thread open in case the theme author has any questions I can help with.
Thanks,
GeoffGeoff
MemberMy pleasure! Thanks for following up and confirming!
We are always looking for new ideas to make the plugins more awesome than they already are — definitely feel welcome to add any ideas to our feature request forum and we’d love to see them.
In the meantime, cheers and thanks again for reaching out!

MemberHey Melissa,
Great question! While we do allow you to accept event submissions in Community Events, we actually not offer the ability to charge for those payments.
One idea, though, might be to use the Restrict Content plugin. That will allow you to block the submission form for non-logged in users and then there is a Pro version of the plugin that will allow you to take payments to access the content.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know.
Thanks,
GeoffGeoff
MemberHey there!
Good question. Event Tickets Plus does integrate with WooCommerce, which has a payment gateway for PayPal.
I am afraid, though, that your client will need to create a ticket for each class. While that can be a bit repetitive, Event Tickets Plus does allow you to save fieldsets for collecting attendee information so that you do not need to re-create it time and again.
Does this help answer your questions? Let me know and I’d be happy to help with any others you might have. 🙂
Cheers,
