Payment to Submit Events to web

Do you have an example of various payment packages/options for allowing users to submit their events to your site and charging them to post their events on a website? Like $10 to submit an event, $50 for a recurring event, etc. How does that work ?

Hey Melissa,

Great question! While we do allow you to accept event submissions in Community Events, we actually not offer the ability to charge for those payments.

One idea, though, might be to use the Restrict Content plugin. That will allow you to block the submission form for non-logged in users and then there is a Pro version of the plugin that will allow you to take payments to access the content.

Thanks, Geoff, for the quick reply. I see where you are going…but even if I restrict the login, etc, the packages still aren’t already designed, so it’s a bit of work from where I am.

I was looking for more GeoDirectory, where we set the packages on the backend. These are all made up:

$10 – 1 image, one event, one category
$20 – 4 images, two categories, recurring
etc.

So, when the user submits the event, their submission options are restricted based on what I set on the backend for the packages. As you well know, if it were one form for all event submissions, they’d all take advantage and I don’t want to be undoing categories, recursions, deleting images, etc.

Ah, gotcha! Then, yes, it seems like there may be more work needed to create posting packages like that. I wish I had some recommendations to make, but nothing is jumping out at me.

I love the idea though and will be sure to share it with the team — you may also want to consider adding it to our feature request forum. I can definitely see how that would be helpful.
