Oh ok, cool, so that means the plugins are installed and active, just no licenses at the moment.

We do indeed have a tutorial for inputting the license keys, though I would certainly not pin any of this on being mentally challenged — it can be confusing!

Finding and Inputting Your License Key

Please let me know if I can help clarify anything further and I’d be happy to. 🙂

Hi Gabi and welcome back. 🙂

iCal Importer can import events from any calendar with an iCal URL. So, for example, if the Outlook calendar is hosted online, then it likely does have a URL that can be entered into the iCal Importer settings and used to import events.

To be honest, I do not have an Outlook calendar myself, but I did find this article that explains how to set up an iCal URL in Outlook. That might be a good place to start.

I should also note that I’ve heard about some Outlook quirks in the past, related to the way that Outlook sets up its iCal feed. I am not aware of any issues at the moment, but thought I’d mention it anyway and also point out that we have a nice refund policy, should anything not wind up working the way you would expect it to.

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers,

    Hi Bruce,

First off, thanks for using the bundle! That’s awesome and I hope you enjoy it — of course, once things get smoothed out here.

Is the issue that the license key is unable to validate?

If so, that will not affect the overall functionality of the plugins. Activating the license will register your site to the plugins and enable you to see when new versions of the plugin are available, but they will still work on the site with or without the license being added.

Is that the case, or are you totally unable to activate the plugins once they’ve been installed?

    Thanks!

    Hello Franck,

Good question. I’m afraid that Event Tickets Plus does not allow you to create product options for tickets. It creates tickets as Products and allows folks to add a ticket to the cart, but everything else after that is handled by the ecommerce plugin you are using for the checkout functionality.

So, if you are using WooCommerce as your ecommerce plugin, then it might offer a way to cross-sell products that have been added to the cart. In fact, I was able to find a WooCommerce extension that does that.

Sorry for the bad news, but I hope the WooCommerce extension will do the trick.

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

Hi Tom and thanks for reaching out!

Community Events itself does not allow you to charge folks for submitting events to the calendar. However, I have heard success stories from others who have tried using Restrict Content PRO on top of Community Events. That would allow you to add a paywall in front of the submission form and charge a fee for posting events.

Does this sound like what you’re looking for? Please let me know and I’d be happy to help answer any other questions you have.

Hey Fred and thanks for getting in touch!

Good question. As you know, Events Calendar PRO includes a Photo View right out of the box. There’s a lot of components that go into it to make it work the way it does and creating your own version of it will take a fair amount of custom development.

To get started, however, I wold suggest checking out this article. It explains how the tribe_get_events() function works and you could use that to construct your own query of events. From there, you can start building the functionality you need.

Will this help you get started? Please let me know. 🙂

    Hey Michael,

Are there five upcoming events in the current month? If not, then the mini calendar will only show the remaining events for the month, rather than also showing events for the next month.

Looking at the screenshot, it appears there are three dates with events in June, so that would explain it.

Is that the case? Please let me know.

    Cheers!

Hey Stephen and welcome to the forums!

Adding code to a theme’s functions file can be pretty tricky, so I went ahead and packaged that snippet up as a mini-plugin for you to install on your site.

You can download the ZIP file here, then head to Plugins > Add New in your WordPress admin then upload and activate it directly from that screen. When you do, the link to the Facebook event will appear in the event’s content (screenshot).

Will this work for you? Please let me know. 🙂

    Hello Kataroek,

We have a plugin called Community Tickets that will allow your client to create events on the front end. It basically takes the admin editor and places it on the front end so that anyone can submit an event to The Events Calendar without logging into WordPress.

Events Calendar PRO also includes custom fields for events. You can set up as many custom fields as you would like for events.

It’s certainly possible that ACF fields will work for events as well, but it might require some custom development to get it working just right.

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

Hi Frank and thanks for getting in touch!

I’m afraid that Event Tickets Plus does not yet support creating tickets for recurring events. Well, it does allow you to create tickets for them, but each ticket sold on any of the recurring event instances will count towards the same event — which is probably not ideal.

The good news is that we are working on this and hope to have it in our 4.3 release. We’re in the process of releasing 4.2 and 4.3 will follow later in the summer, if all goes according to plan. I don’t have a concrete date for when that is, but you can add your vote to the feature request and it will subscribe you to receive a notification when then feature has been released.

Another option I would like is to clone events, create a copy that I can then edit, does the system have this functionality?

The Events Calendar doesn’t have a cloning feature, but I have used the Post Duplicator plugin successfully with The Events Calendar before and that seems to do the trick.

Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. 🙂

in reply to: How to customize CSS style for filter bar #1121263

    Hi Nobuko,

So sorry for the confusion here! I do know that there are a lot of templates in the plugin and various ways to customize them, os  it’s definitely easy to find yourself heading down a rabbit hole — I can help though!

I see our Themer’s Guide is a little outdated specifically for Filter Bar styles. We’re in the process of updating the guide, so I’ll be sure to make a note to fix this at the same time.

    Here’s how it should work:

    • Make a new file called filter-view.css
    • Make a new folder in your theme directory called tribe-events
    • Make a new folder in that one called filterbar
    • Drop the filter-view.css file in that last folder

Now that the stylesheet is in your theme, it will load alongside the other Filter Bar stylesheet and override the default styles with your custom styles.

    For example, adding this:

    #tribe_events_filters_wrapper.tribe-events-filters-horizontal {
    background: orange;
    }

…will change the background color of the Filter Bar wrapper to orange (screenshot).

Does that work for you as well? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers!

Howdy Stacey and thanks for getting in touch!

This is a great question. I think this will be the right combination of plugins for you:

    • The Events Calendar (free) – This plugin provides the core calendar functionality, allowing you to publish and manage events on your site.
    • Event Tickets (free) – This allows you to create RSVPs for those events and sets the stage for the next plugin, which is…
    • Event Tickets Plus – This allows you to create and sell tickets for the events on your calendar and creates those tickets as products in the ecommerce system of your choice (e.g. WooCommerce).

This will definitely allow you to create as many tickets and ticket types for your events as you see fit. Plus, it allows you to collect the additional information you are looking for from those who purchase the tickets, including the purcahse of multiple tickets in the same transaction.

Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers,
    Geoff
