The only prerequisite for Event Tickets Plus is that you install Event Tickets. You can use these plugins entirely separately from The Events Calendar even if that works for your needs.
Similarly, Events Calendar Pro requires The Events Calendar to work.

In Using One License for Live and Dev Sites https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-one-license-live-dev-sites/, we do specify which domain structures that we currently support for staging sites.ย
If your site doesn’t match the criteria, you can still use the plugin.ย You will need to manually run updates by downloading the plugin from My Account ยป Downloads, the license may not register (or you could register it there while building and later Move Your License Key https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/moving-your-license-keys/.ย If you need to contact support during that time, please manually send in your System Info.

I suspect you are right about the key. With the site offline, it doesn’t really know how to fetch updates. Are you experiencing that with other plugins as well?
You can download the plugin and manually install it again as a way to get the updates. Just go to My Account ยป Downloads to get it again.

Also, double check for any other updates available (Dashboard ยป Updates).ย

I’d actually suggest instead of blocking the updates that you check out the Themer’s Guide. We actually recommend rather than updating the plugin’s code that you can copy the relevant code to a folder in your child theme. This will preserve your customizations, while not conflicting with plugin updates.
Would this method work for you? Take a look at our preferred customization route and give it a shot. I’d hate to see the client be vulnerable OR not get the functionality you want.

There are a few interesting things happening here. Let’s see what we can fix.
1. Even when the event isn’t shown as a “featured event” I notice that it crops the image in- namely that text is missing. Is this an issue for you? ย It is determined by what you have selected in Settings ยป Media as the medium image size. You can upload images larger than whatever the medium image size is set to, so long as they scale proportionally. I suspect that your current medium size is set to 200 x 200 px and your featured images are at a different aspect ratio, leading to the weird cropping.
Note, if you change this, then the images you have already uploaded will not automatically change. They will remain the same. A plugin lineย Regenerate Thumbnailsย might be of help here, but I didnโt test it.
2. For the Featured Event Featured Image: can you start by going through our Testing for Conflicts Guide https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/?ย I am wondering if you might have a plugin or theme conflict.ย Begin by deactivating all other plugins, using a theme such as Twenty Seventeen https://wordpress.org/themes/twentyseventeen/, and see if the issue still persists. Can you clarify, which licenses are showing as invalid and on which sites?
I see 2 Event Aggregator licenses for you and 2 Events Calendar Pro.
Have you tried to remove the licenses and readd them?
When you view https://theeventscalendar.com/license-keys/, do you see any domains assigned that should not be?

Yes, Event Aggregator can import images. For example, it would take a Facebook event image and assign it as an event post featured image.

I’m very sorry to hear you are having difficulties. We really do want your site working and looking great.
I reviewed your account and could only find one other thread: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/none-of-the-event-plugins-are-working-frontend/. I see the @cliff asked you to test for conflicts and get a debug log. Have you had a chance to do that yet?
If the issue is a theme conflict, ultimately we aren’t able to support it. We do aim for our plugins to work with as many themes as possible. As you are discovering, not all themes are developed the same way. Not every theme developer sticks to good standards, nor do they always support plugin integrations.
I do hope that is not the case in your situation.
Can you provide me with additional threads if you logged in on your client’s behalf? I’d like to look through the rest of your experience with us to see what can be done.
