ParticipantI am so angry right now I have just lost an important client as well as losing the money invested in buying a theme from dawnthemes and the £299 it cost for the recommended plugins from you to find that none of it worked on the live site- to then be told that what is a theme for use by ‘non programmers’ actually needs a programmer to work it and to get the plugins to do what they are supposed to do also requires a programmer and issues are not your problem or the solution is so complicated I would need to be a software programmer .. i even got a poor response blaming godaddy who I have to say tried to help more than yourselves or modern tribe events calendar. I am now another £300 down because I had to pay a programmer to try and fix the apparent php errors in the code or the conflicts or whatever the hell the problem is. The truth being everyone is blaming everyone else for the problems which all means I do not have any resolution nor a working website and a very unhappy client. I am so frustrated and angry about the lack of support and assumptions everyone is a programmer. The themes are bought for a reason because many designers have no wish or inclination to learn programming as are the plugins which I might add are not a cheap investment so maybe at some someone can decide who is responsible for the errors that have cost me a small fortune and now my client. Also it is now telling me I cannot download the plugins to try on another hosting site as I have installed them too many times.. I cannot believe what is supposed to be a simple process has turned out to be a complete and utter nightmare with no resolution in sight.

MemberHello Nicola
I’m very sorry to hear you are having difficulties. We really do want your site working and looking great.
I reviewed your account and could only find one other thread: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/none-of-the-event-plugins-are-working-frontend/. I see the @cliff asked you to test for conflicts and get a debug log. Have you had a chance to do that yet?
If the issue is a theme conflict, ultimately we aren’t able to support it. We do aim for our plugins to work with as many themes as possible. As you are discovering, not all themes are developed the same way. Not every theme developer sticks to good standards, nor do they always support plugin integrations.
I do hope that is not the case in your situation.
Can you provide me with additional threads if you logged in on your client’s behalf? I’d like to look through the rest of your experience with us to see what can be done.
Thanks
Courtney 🙂July 28, 2017 at 7:58 am #1327417Nicola Slater

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
