October 3, 2017 at 6:13 am in reply to: Add on needs a valid license of events calendar pro? #1358238
Courtney
MemberHi Joan
Filter Bar will integrate with The Events Calendar (free). You’ll need to first install The Events Calendar. Filter Bar will then appear at the top of the /events page. At this time, it cannot be used on any other page/post, etc.
Does this answer your question? Is there anything else I can help you with?
Thanks

MemberHey Scott,
I also noticed that this thread started with WordPress v 4.8.1. We’ve since shipped some bug fixes since WP 4.8.2 was released. Can you confirm that The Events Calendar and WordPress core are updated, and see if that impacts the functionality?
Thanks

MemberHello Nolin
I’m not completely sure, but this does sound like the bug introduced recently with updates to WordPress core. WordPress updated to v4.8.2 and retroactively updated earlier versions as well to patch a security issue. As such, all previous versions of The Events Calendar were impacted. We have resolved the issue in 4.5.12.3 and higher. Can you please update to a newer version of The Events Calendar?
Also, it helps us greatly to be more sure what the issues could be when you send in your System Info https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/.
Let me know if this resolves the issue.
Thanks

MemberHi Barry
1. Yes, Event Aggregator will no longer work after one year. Unlike our other plugins, this plugin relies upon our servers to process importing events. When the license expires, support and access to that process expires as well.
2. Can you share the link you are trying to import? The Other URL is limited at this time to only other sites running WordPress with The Events Calendar v4.5 or higher. However, I believe Outlook can provide a .ics link that should work.
3. We do offer Calendar View Shortcodes and Widget Shortcodes for embedding the calendar, however, these are limited to Events Calendar Pro users.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
Thanks

MemberHi there Daniel
Can you please send in your System Info https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/ for the developers working on fixing this issue? It will help them to troubleshoot it further.
I’m sorry the snippet isn’t working for you.
I will flag this as pending fix so you are notified as soon as a solution is available.
Thanks

MemberHey Jonathan
When you go to Events ยป Settings ยป General ยป Events URL slug, what do you have listed? Do you have any other redirect plugins installed?
Thanks

MemberHey Scott
Just touching base to let you know our devs are looking into this. While we wait, can you see if either of these options help?
1) Go to Events โฃ Settings โฃ Imports and scrolling to the Global Import Settings section then ‘dialling down’ the import limit to a smaller date range or smaller number
2) If you don’t have so many scheduled imports that this would be impractical, could you try deleting and recreating them? (I realize this option may not be practical).
I’ll keep you posted.
Thanks

October 2, 2017 at 1:51 pm in reply to: The iCal importer is exporting events to our Outlook calendar in Eastern Time. #1357969Courtney
MemberHi Grace
I was able to get someone with Outlook to give this a test. It looks like Microsoft isn’t reading some of the data correctly upon import. The easier solution here might be to go to your WordPress dashboard – Settings ยป General and change the timezone from Chicago to UTC. However, this will need attention when daylight saving time changes. https://24timezones.com/world_directory/current_chicago_time.php
Please let me know if this method works. The other solution involves manually editing that export file before bringing it into Outlook.
Thanks

MemberHi Denise
Just checking in to say that yes, our developers have used the db backup you sent along. I can’t make an official promise on this, but I believe our next round of fixes will ship on Wednesday of this week, or by Thursday. Right now, this bug is in what we call “pending smoketest” – meaning, we’ve spent time on it thoroughly, a dev has found a solution, and is awaiting the team to finish testing that it works for them as well.
Thank you for sticking it out with us. This is one very unusual glitch.
Thanks

MemberHey Jonathan
We’re a bit limited in what we can support in the pre-sales forum. I’ll take a quick look, but do encourage you to also post on https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/the-events-calendar.
Can you share a link to your website?
Thanks

MemberHi Jason
Can you send us the error messages when hovering over the red exclamation mark.
Also can you share the iCal URL to make some tests ourselves.
And finally to check the Event Aggregator System Status in Events > Help. Let me know what that says.
I’m hoping to get this narrowed down for you soon.
Thanks

MemberLet’s move that to email Robert.
Can you share the link to this thread when emailing:
support [at] theeventscalendar [.] com
Thank you! I’ll be sure they know to expect you.

MemberHi Simon
The only way I can forward this thread on for additional support is if you’ve first tested if this issue happens with a default theme, such as Twenty Seventeen https://wordpress.org/themes/twentyseventeen/. Can you please try a staging server or duplicate the site into a private sub-directory if you aren’t able to test this live?
Thanks
