ParticipantHi,
I’m having a problem whereby the Event Search Bar is toggled collapsed and I can’t open/activate it. I’ve already resolved a couple of issues just to get the Event Calendar Pro Map view working which were plugin conflicts or script ordering clashes.
The URL of the Events Calendar is here: http://www.warlordgames.com/events/
I’ve used the free version of Events Calendar on other sites so I know how it should look/work, but for some reason I can’t get it to display correctly here. I’m hoping you can clarify why it is a collapsed state and anything obvious I’ve missed before I start looking to replace the bar with a theme specific version. I’ve checked for plugin conflicts and have no javascript issues on this page. It is not feasible at this stage to revert to the Twenty Fourteen theme as this is a live site and a heavily modified theme that I don’t think will just swtich off and on again without some issues. I’m not looking for a fix as much as an idea of where the issue might lie, given that this collapsed mode presumably has some purpose I’m not aware of.
I hope that makes sense,
Thanks,

MemberHi Simon
My first guess is really a theme conflict. I do see one Javascript error on the page as well.
Since you aren’t wanting to test on a live site, I’d suggest duplicating the whole site to a staging server, or at least duplicating to a private subdirectory on your server and testing it there.
Please let me know how you progress. After basic conflicts testing, we can move on to more thorough testing if needed.
Thanks

ParticipantHi Courtney,
thanks for your response. What Javascript error are you seeing on the warlordgames.com/events page – can you let me know? I’ve checked in both Chrome and Firefox/Firebug and am seeing nothing. There is some javascript in the theme that other pages require which seems to cause problems, but I have specifically removed them from this page and can no longer see any errors here.

MemberHello Richard
I’m seeing 1 warning and 1 error

ParticipantHi,
thanks for clarifying. Neither of those issues are website errors; one is something deprecated in your browser but that other, older browsers might still need. The other is an element of google analytics that your browser (or adblocker) is blocking – which is fair enough, of course, but not an issue on the webpage.
The actual issue I’m seeing when the page loads is that the search bar loads up briefly, but is then hidden behind a toggle (see attached image); this toggle does not work, presumably because of some kind of conflict as you say. It would be really helpful to understand under what circumstances the search bar would normally be toggled closed like this. Is that something that you or someone else could perhaps shed some light on?
Thanks,
Richard

MemberHi Simon
The only way I can forward this thread on for additional support is if you’ve first tested if this issue happens with a default theme, such as Twenty Seventeen https://wordpress.org/themes/twentyseventeen/. Can you please try a staging server or duplicate the site into a private sub-directory if you aren’t able to test this live?
Thanks

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
