ParticipantHello it’s me again! It’s now been over two months since I was forced to upgrade to this non-working plugin, and two weeks since I turned in the database. I really love The Events Calendar when it’s working and my site is slowly dying here while I wait for some word from you guys. Can you please let me know what’s happening on your end? Is someone working on this? Your sales page for The Event Aggregator states that it comes with one year of excellent support …..

MemberHi Denise,
I’m really sorry to hear you’ve had such a bumpy experience with Event Aggregator.
Since our last update, we’ve been able to make some progress on this problem and a further set of fixes that should help with this issue are currently undergoing testing. Although I can’t promise anything, because there are lots of variables to deal with, we’re going to do our best to ship those in next week’s release.
In the meantime, here are some practical tips that might help:
- Visit Events ‣ Settings ‣ Import ‣ Global Import Settings and review the import limit settings
- If you are limiting by date range, try reducing the time (for example, from two months to one month)
- If you are limiting by the number of events, try reducing this instead (for example, from 200 to 100)
- Visit Events ‣ Imports ‣ Scheduled Imports … how many imports are listed here and when were they created? Though I appreciate this takes some amount of work, clearing them out and recreating them has helped some users to workaround this problem
Beyond that, I’d recommend we wait for the next update to The Events Calendar and see if that helps. Again, we’re really sorry it’s been a choppy experience: but real progress has been made to improve the reliability of Event Aggregator and though there are some parts that clearly still need refining, I’m confident we’ll get there 🙂

ParticipantThanks so much for your response Barry! I have done those things multiple times. Most of my scheduled imports are daily, changing them to monthly or every two months will not work for my site. Deleting all of the imports then restarting them has helped for short periods but doesn’t last, that’s why I was asked to submit my database because I was told you guys needed to delve into it like you have for someone else, that it fixed their issue. Is anyone looking at my database? I’m having to do ALL imports manually and I didn’t have to do that with your previous plugin. Extremely frustrating!!!

MemberI fully understand how frustrating it must be. I do want to clarify something, though, as I think you may have misunderstood one of the steps that I recommended:
Most of my scheduled imports are daily, changing them to monthly or every two months will not work for my site.
I’m not suggesting you change daily imports to run once every month or once every two months — I realize that would be unworkable.
What I’m recommending is that, if at all possible, you visit Events ‣ Settings ‣ Import ‣ Global Import Settings and change the import limit settings.
If these are currently configured to import by date range, then please consider reducing the timespan from whatever it is now to something lower (so, if it is currently set to two months try reducing it to one month, etc).
This does not mean that a daily import will stop running daily: it just increases the chances of success by reducing the number of events it will try to handle each time.
Does that clarify things?

ParticipantThank you so much for that clarification, I was confusing the issue. I’ve done as you suggested and am hoping it helps, however since my plugin isn’t importing AT ALL I’m not sure how changing how far into the future it checks for records to import will help anything. Fingers crossed anyway!
Do you have an answer on the remainder of my question?
“Deleting all of the imports then restarting them has helped for short periods but doesn’t last, that’s why I was asked to submit my database because I was told you guys needed to delve into it like you have for someone else, that it fixed their issue. Is anyone looking at my database?”

MemberHi Denise
Just checking in to say that yes, our developers have used the db backup you sent along. I can’t make an official promise on this, but I believe our next round of fixes will ship on Wednesday of this week, or by Thursday. Right now, this bug is in what we call “pending smoketest” – meaning, we’ve spent time on it thoroughly, a dev has found a solution, and is awaiting the team to finish testing that it works for them as well.
Thank you for sticking it out with us. This is one very unusual glitch.
Thanks

MemberHey there @emzmllc
Could you please open a new thread with your error? We’d like to provide better support for your issue and will need your System Info https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Thanks

ParticipantOops – I thought you were asking me to start a new thread so I’ve just done so as Event Aggregator still isn’t working after the latest update. It’s getting further than it was before as scheduled imports now say “Import Pending” and they weren’t getting that far before the update, but still no events are actually being imported.

MemberHey Denise – no worries. Another user popped in with a private reply on this thread, which is why you aren’t seeing it.
We like each person to open their own thread about issues, and reserve clients commenting on each other’s thread for helping each other vs reporting their own issues.Normally I’d want to keep you in this thread specifically, but have asked a team member that can see this through to step in. I’m about to head out for maternity leave, and want to be sure we get this all cleared up. It looks like Patricia will be the main person handling the new thread you started from here, and occasionally developers may pop in. I definitely don’t want you to feel like we’re passing you around too much, but I also don’t want to leave any of my long-standing threads open while I’ll be out for a while.
Thanks
