MemberHi, Luke.
You can go to the top-right corner of the wp-admin event edit screen, click “Screen Options”, and then check the “Author” box.
Then you can do the same when editing the other two post types (organizers and venues).
From then on, you’ll have the Author drop-down available when editing one of these three post types.
As far as custom permissions/capabilities go, you could use a plugin like User Role Editor (third-party, not guaranteed or supported by us) or one like it or custom coding. In other words, it’s not something we support.
If you need some coding help, you may want to ask your developer or reference our documentation and list of known customizers.
Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic.

MemberJon, thanks for bringing this inconsistency to our attention.
After confirming with management that this article’s statement was incorrect, I modified it to match the messaging regarding refunds throughout the rest of our site.
Although we do not fully support each theme, we do help where we can, so feel free to post that as a separate support question and we’ll let you know where we can and cannot assist. Make sure to include a link to where we can see this happening (specific URL) and how you expect it should appear.
Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this thread’s main topic.

MemberSean, please reference https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/database-error-unknown-column-eventstartdate-in-order-clause-for-query/#post-1295700 and also investigate a possible plugin conflict with the Business Directory Plugin – Enhanced Categories Module and/or the Business Directory Plugin.
Thank you.

MemberIf the only update you have outstanding is updating from WP 4.7.5 to WP 4.8, I doubt that’ll affect things here… but, referring to this other thread, here’s what you do not have in common:
- PHP 5.4.28 vs PHP 7.1.5
And here’s what you do have in common:
- Business Directory Plugin – Enhanced Categories Module (you have version 4.0.9dev2; they have 4.0)
- Business Directory Plugin (you have version 4.1.12.1; they have 4.0.5)
- WordPress 4.7.5
- Apache, SAPI, cgi-fcgi
- Server timezone is UTC
They have quite a few more active plugins than you do, but the fact that you both have these 2 plugins that I haven’t had experience with before — and that they’re the only 2 plugins you have in common besides ours — leads me to believe it may be at play here.
Please investigate regarding these 2 plugins.

MemberI’d guess not but am not certain. Regardless, it would affect our plugins’ performance/abilities in other areas of your site.
Here’s the full list of our recommended troubleshooting steps:
Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?
- Downloads / Version Numbers
- License Keys
- TEC Automatic Updates
- or TEC Manual Updates
- WordPress core updates
Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.
If it is, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Seventeen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.
Of course, we always recommend restorable database and file backups before modifying anything on your site.
If it doesn’t, please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG (which will create a file on your server at /wp-content/debug.log if there are any WP_DEBUG messages) and share any debug messages you see while trying to replicate this issue and doing other things on your site relevant to this ticket (such as visiting your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and anything else you can think to do).
Then, please share your System Information (while in Testing for Conflicts Mode) in a Private Reply. That will give me a lot of extra information to help troubleshoot this.
You might also see if you can spot any console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks.
Cliff
MemberHi, Derek.
Yup, unfortunately it’s just a blank white screen.
Therefore, I suggest you enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG (which will create a file on your server at /wp-content/debug.log if there are any WP_DEBUG messages) and share any debug messages you see while trying to replicate this issue and doing other things on your site relevant to this ticket (such as visiting your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and anything else you can think to do).

MemberHi, Pekka. Sorry you’re experiencing this.
Unfortunately, no, we don’t have the functionality you mentioned in #2.
For #1, no…. it’s likely not there at all.
There was a long-outstanding issue that was just fixed by this week’s release of the latest version of Event Tickets Plus. The issue was that the Attendee Information fields would not display at all if the user did not have JavaScript enabled. Do you think this could have been the case? For example, if you sold 55 tickets total and 50 did not have the Attendee Information, that high of a percentage of the overall tickets wouldn’t match up to the percentage of users who might have JavaScript disabled (few but some).
Also, please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions:
- Downloads / Version Numbers
- License Keys
- TEC Automatic Updates
- or TEC Manual Updates
- WordPress core updates
Please let me know your thoughts on this topic.

MemberHi, Brandon.
I’m guessing this is due to our changing to using the tribe() and tribe_singleton() functions.
Therefore, please replace
Tribe__Events__Tickets__Eventbrite__Main::instance()withtribe( 'eventbrite.main' )and see if that works. Please let me know how this goes for you.
Cliff
MemberHi, Lisa. I’m not very clear exactly what you’re trying to accomplish here, but maybe using PRO’s [tribe_event_inline] shortcode will come in handy here.
Cliff
MemberThanks for this detailed question, Robbie. Sorry you’re experiencing this.
Could you please screenshot your number of Events, Venues, and Organizers?
Also, how many rows does the optimized/reduced table have?
Cliff
MemberHi. Sorry you’re experiencing this.
I just tried replicating this issue on my localhost testing site but couldn’t.
Since it sounds like you’ve already tried most recommendations to get to the bottom of this, my best suggestion is to try to create a fresh WordPress installation and see if you can recreate the issue there as well.
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks.
Cliff
MemberHi, Thomas.
Could you please provide me a link to this event and a screenshot detailing all of the recurrence rules for this event?
Cliff
MemberHi, Sean.
I’ve handled all the threads that have been linked to here.
I haven’t been able to replicate the issue. If we can find out what situation causes this (e.g. specific URL or performing a specific action), then I’ll be able to try it. If it’s reproducible, then I can get the bug fixed. Until then, it’s hard to say…
Please let me know once you can detail how/when this is happening.
Thank you.
Cliff
MemberHi, Jeremy.
I tried recreating this using the latest versions of our plugins and the Twenty Seventeen theme.
Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?
Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.
Thank you.
June 8, 2017 at 8:48 pm in reply to: Configuring license keys for one domain, many servers and test sites #1295570Cliff
MemberI verified with the team that only multisite licenses can receive/perform automated updates in a multisite environment. (Personally, I’m interested in promoting the opinion internally that this restriction should be lifted.)
However, another thought is that a multisite license may need to be network activated and have the license key input at the network-level settings. If you’re really interested in finding this out, you might want to try that and report back your findings.
I’ve appreciated your effort and detailed replies throughout this thread.
