    Hi

I’m setting up multiple events, and most of the time things run smoothly.

But some of my attendees are able to complete their order without filling in the required custom fields I’ve set up. That is a big problem.

As far as I can tell it’s only happening on mobile devices, but that’s where a lot of our orders are coming from. Any fix for this?

    Thanks
    Eivind

    Hi, Eivind.

We’ve seen this happen when a user’s browser has JavaScript disabled but not specific to mobile devices.

Do you think this could be the root cause of what you’re experiencing? If yes, I’ll add your report of this issue to our internal bug tracker where we keep tally of how many users are affected by each bug.

    Please let me know.

That may very well be the case, yes. It’s just that when trying to replicate the problem in my end it’s working on laptop/desktop and not on my phone so I concluded like I did.

Thank you for adding me to the list. Hope to see a fix very soon. I’ve seen reports of similar problems dating back a while. Any idea when this might be resolved?

We actually released the fix for this yesterday!

Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?

Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.

    Hi

Updated everything and verified the version numbers now. It’s all latest releases.

But the problem persists. And now it even happens in Chrome on my laptop. No luck on mobile. Custom fields are only displayed in Safari.

Sorry to hear that. Please provide a link to an event where you’re experiencing this.

On my laptop, in safari the custom fields are displayed, but not in Chrome.

The additional fields did not appear for me in Mac Safari or Chrome.

I see 2 console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)

    1)

Uncaught ReferenceError: WebFont is not defined

    From

    WebFont.load( WebFontConfig );</script>

    in your page source.

This is likely not causing the conflict problem, but it’s still something you should remedy.

    2)

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error)

You’re either purposefully or accidentally blocking access to http://elverumfhs.no/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

You really shouldn’t be and should fix this 500 error.

Here are some helpful resources to reference:

Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic.

Are the second error linked to the custom fields not appearing?

I’d guess not but am not certain. Regardless, it would affect our plugins’ performance/abilities in other areas of your site.

Here’s the full list of our recommended troubleshooting steps:

Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?

Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.

If it is, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Seventeen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.

Of course, we always recommend restorable database and file backups before modifying anything on your site.

If it doesn’t, please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG (which will create a file on your server at /wp-content/debug.log if there are any WP_DEBUG messages) and share any debug messages you see while trying to replicate this issue and doing other things on your site relevant to this ticket (such as visiting your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and anything else you can think to do).

Then, please share your System Information (while in Testing for Conflicts Mode) in a Private Reply. That will give me a lot of extra information to help troubleshoot this.

You might also see if you can spot any console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)

Let us know what you find out.

    Thanks.

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
