Hi, Sheila. Thanks for your interest in WooCommerce Tickets.

The WooCommerce Tickets Add-on, in a nutshell, allows you to configure a WooCommerce product for any of your The Events Calendar events. Whatever functionality is available in the WooCommerce plugin, or any additional add-ons or plugins you have configured to work with WC, that functionality should be able to work with WooCommerce Tickets.

Here’s a screenshot of the Ticket creation screen on the TEC Event page: http://d.pr/i/PP5v That should give you an idea of the options that are available to you when creating the ticket. You can have multiple tickets for any event, and they are created as separate products in the WooCommerce Products list. It follows that each ticket needs to be separately added to the cart and the checkout is not separate from the rest of the standard WooCommerce interface, so whatever payment options are available in general will be available for WooCommerce tickets.

As far as a waiting list goes, we have considered adding that to WooCommerce Tickets, but it is not implemented at present.

In general, I would say that our add-on is a simpler solution than the workflow you present. It sounds like what you’re looking for is more a full-fledged event management system, whereas WooCommerce Tickets is designed as a simple ticketing solution. WooCommerce Tickets could be an asset as part of a suite of add-ons, but out of the box, it’s not capable of all you describe above.

Please let us know if there’s anything we can clarify to help you make your decision. Thanks!

Hi, bikewinnipeg. Having a set URL is just fine, providing you still enter the Event ID when you’re connecting the two in your Event page on your WordPress site.

When you’re importing the event, are you signed into WordPress as the user who has the API Key listed in his/her profile?

Hi, Kristin. Unfortunately, although it is in the works, this had not made it into the product yet.

We had a tutorial for doing this in 2.x, but it has not been updated since the release of 3.0. This is in the works, so if you hold tight, it should be available before too long.

Let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help in the meantime. Thanks!

I’m curious; does it works for a new event that you create? Would you mind sending us a link to your Eventbrite organizer page?

Also, are you logged in under your account when you’re creating/modifying the event? It’s very important that the Eventbrite User API Key is entered in the User Profile of the user who creates the event. (We’re working on changing this, but that’s the way it is for now.)

Also, a couple of more general questions:

    1. Which theme are you using?
    2. What other plugins are you using?
    3. What version of WordPress are you running?

    Thanks!

Hi, scrimshire. This definitely sounds like a frustrating issue.

First, you might check over in the right sidebar under “Useful Code Snippets”: Conflict: Canvas/Genesis – Fix for a Broken Main Events Page. That will probably fix the static homepage issue.

After that, when I visit your site and click the events calendar, I don’t see anything listed. Please create an event so that I can see this in action and provide a link to it.

Also, would you mind confirming that it occurs in unmodified Twenty Twelve, with all the latest versions of the plugins? We haven’t had any other reports of this, and so I want to be double sure that you’re on a standard configuration before we start trying to dig deeper.

    Thanks!

Hi, greggc. Just wanted to check in and see how upgrading your plugins worked for you. If you’re still having the issue, we’re happy to help. If not, please let us know so that we can close this ticket.

    Thanks!

Hi, merlin1710. It sounds like this is more of a core WooCommerce issue, rather than a WooCommerce Tickets issue. Unfortunately, we can only provide very limited support for WooCommerce outside of its integration with The Events Calendar through WooCommerce Tickets.

Have you tried contacting them about your situation? If so, what was their suggestion?

    Thanks!

Hi, Caroline. That’s fantastic that you were able to figure out the importing. Thanks for letting us know.

As far as the outstanding issue goes, when I look at your homepage, I see your events in the blog area as I scroll down. Is that not what you’re hoping for? If not, where would you like the events to be displaying?

Hi, blackswantemple. There are a couple of things that could be going on.

First, please confirm that you have the appropriate radio buttons selected to have the event linked to Eventbrite and that you want the tickets to appear on your page. It’s also a good idea to confirm that the event is Live on Eventbrite and not lingering in the draft state.

The other thing to check is that the Eventbrite User API key is still in your user profile in WordPress. To find it, look at the sidebar on the left of the admin screen. When hovering over “Users”, you’ll see an option that reads “Your Profile”. Click on that and scroll about halfway down. You’ll see a subheading that reads “Eventbrite User Account”. The User API Key needs to be entered there for our plugin to interface with your Eventbrite account.

For changing the look and feel of your site, please check out our Themer’s Guide: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/ It should have everything you need to customize your pages.

Hi, Kristin. Unfortunately, not. The Events Calendar works by rewriting the loops and doesn’t use shortcode embeds for the time being.

This thread contains a solution if you’re interested in trying it out: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/are-there-shortcodes-in-events-calendar-pro/#post-58334 You would need to work with that plugin’s developer for assistance in integration, but it appears that it should integrate well with TEC.

    Thanks!

Hello again, Jared. Unfortunately, it looks like there’s not a quick fix for this outside of our normal release cycle. Please know that it’s a high-priority bug for us, and we’ll be rolling it into an upcoming release.

Hi, timelesstime. Unfortunately, this isn’t something that we can give you a snippet for, but it’s definitely something that will be fixed as soon as it can be rolled into a forthcoming update.

What I suggest you do in the interim is to copy the content of the Eventbrite page before committing the update on your TEC Event on your WordPress site. Then, go back and paste it back to the Eventbrite page and make the changes there. (That’s what I do on my personal site for now, too.)

This is obviously a high-priority bug for us, so it should be rolling out soon!
