    I apologize for the delay, Thomas.

    I’m afraid we haven’t yet been able to start work on this bug – but we’ll be sure to post an update in here once we’ve got something to share.

    Thanks for your patience in the meantime 🙂

    Well, hopefully, in the Events → Import → History tab we’ll start to see a build up of successful imports, marked be a green “check” icon.

    Sorry to hear that, Derek – and thank you for taking the time to run through those troubleshooting steps. I just want to confirm a few things so I’m clear about the situation as it is in your case:

    • Manually running imports works without issue (it is only automated/scheduled imports that fail), is that correct?
    • If you visit the Events → Help screen and scroll to the bottom of the screen, does it state that it has successfully connected to our ea.theeventscalendar.com servers?
    • In that same screen can you enable “Debugging” for the event log if you haven’t done so already and give me an idea of what sort of notices and errors are collected there, if any?

    Thanks 🙂

    A partial success, then! Good to hear 🙂

    Nothing done by my, happened to see there were plugin updates and figured we had a connection, checked and we do!

    Though this seems to be resolved for the time being, I want to note something you can try in case it comes back, which would involve creating a file at wp-content/mu-plugins/tribe-ea-fixes.php containing the following code:

    <?php
    function tribe_increase_aggregator_connection_timeout() {
      return 120;
    }
    add_filter( 'tribe_aggregator_connection_timeout', 'tribe_increase_aggregator_connection_timeout' );

    This might help to avoid issues where the connection times out.

    I’ve tested a manual “Run Import” and all is good. I’ll be patient and see if the auto picks up, but I expect it too.

    That’s great: please do keep me posted on the automated imports in particular.

    The only thing I’m still seeing is “Buy Event Aggregator” when I go to add another import, any suggestions? I’ll continue to check it and see if resolves itself.

    Sorry to hear it, that’s disappointing. If you visit your license keys page, are the license keys – the key for Event Aggregator in particular – showing up as valid, or are errors about being unable to validate displaying?

    If they all look good but you are still seeing only the “Buy Event Aggregator” option in the import screen, let’s try clearing transients. There are a few ways you can do this but a fairly straightforward option is to install a plugin such as Transient Manager and then use the Delete All Transients option.

    Does that resolve this part of the problem? If on the other hand the license keys aren’t showing as valid please let me know.

    Thanks, Neil.

    Hi Jennifer,

    That makes complete sense 🙂

    However, the amount of support we can provide for custom development tasks such as this one does tend to be limited and there are quite a few angles to get right here.

    I do realize your organization is on a limited budget but, as Caroline noted, a suggestion has already been filed and we do take these things seriously when considering future features, knowledgebase articles and extensions. With that in mind, please do feel free to up-vote it if you haven’t already done so:

    Sorry we can’t do more on this occasion and, if you do find you’re able to engage a developer for this, you may also find the following list useful:

    Thanks again and good luck with the project 🙂

    Neil: though we’ve been digging into this we unfortunately have not yet come up with a definitive answer — please do bear with us a little longer however while we continue to investigate and we’ll post a further update as soon as we can.

    Hi Nicolas,

    I apologize first of all for the long delay in responding.

    As Shelby noted we do have a fix in the works that relates to a piece of code which works with post meta data and, inadvertently, runs at times when it shouldn’t.

    A new release is on its way which should address this and I would recommend we wait and see if that helps in your case specifically; in the meantime you could certainly consider downgrading and doing so should not break your site so long you also downgrade other plugins accordingly.

    For instance, if you roll back to The Events Calendar 4.4.5 then I’d recommend you also roll back these other plugins which you appear to be using:

    • Community Events → 4.4.3
    • Events Calendar PRO → 4.4.5
    • Eventbrite Tickets → 4.4.1

    If you are still using Facebook Events, simply keep it on the same version.

    I appreciate the feedback: unfortunately, we need a little more time to research this one. The problem in your case seems notably different to the outstanding issues we’re seeing with other users and it is going to take a little more digging: I’ll update you again as soon as I can.

    OK, something’s clearly going wrong there. Please bear with me a little longer while we review this.

    OK. Currently, the “Other URL” option only works for other sites that also run an up-to-date version of The Events Calendar.

    Can you try replacing that import task with a new “iCalendar” import and, additionally, modify the URL you shared so that, instead of ending with the .html file extension as it currently does, it ends with .ics instead.

    Does that work for you?
