I’m taking over the management of our school website from a third-party developer who installed Event Calendar Pro and iCal importer before Event Aggregator replaced it.

We eventually had to stop using the plugins because of duplication of events and timestamp errors. Meanwhile, our license expired.

We have since renewed the EC Pro license and purchased the Event Aggregator license because we were told that those issues have been resolved. However, I have not been able to test whether they have or not because the Aggregator is not pulling in our latest events from the Outlook calendar.

The previous developer installed and was using a couple of different plugins to manage cron tasks.

We simply want to pull our Outlook calendar ‘automagically’ and display the events on our website. Can that be done by exporting from Outlook and import via the “Events Import” feature of EC Pro?

    Appreciate the help.

    Hi, [email protected],

Sorry to hear you’ve hit up against difficulties.

So long as Outlook is providing a feed in a format understood by Event Aggregator (iCal, for example) and assuming the feed is ‘visible’ to users or agents other than users who are logged in to Outlook, then yes this should work.

Can you provide – by private reply if you prefer – a link to one of the source URLs that are proving problematic?

    Thanks!

OK. Currently, the “Other URL” option only works for other sites that also run an up-to-date version of The Events Calendar.

Can you try replacing that import task with a new “iCalendar” import and, additionally, modify the URL you shared so that, instead of ending with the .html file extension as it currently does, it ends with .ics instead.

    Does that work for you?
