    Hi – great question!

You can stop WooCommerce Tickets from hijacking the product URL with a snippet like this one (which you could add to your theme’s functions.php file).

The other part of this is going to be directing visitors from the event page to the product page. To do that, you could override the wootickets/tickets.php template – please see our Themer’s Guide for a basic overview of this process. Here’s a fairly minimal example of what you might change it to.

Does that help at all/give you ideas to take this forward?

    Hi John,

Thanks first of all for letting us know. That does seem to be a valid bug which you’ll be reassured to know we can replicate. It goes without saying that we’re sorry we didn’t manage to determine it was due to this setting previously and am glad you and WP Engine were able to determine this.

We’ll certainly get this slated for a fix.

    Thanks again!

Hi! Would this snippet (which you could drop into your theme’s functions.php file) work for you?

    Hi Peter:

What’s being discussed there is not an official feature but a customization: automated synchronization between The Events Calendar/Events Calendar PRO and Google Calendar is not officially supported at this time.

Please advise how syncing can be done?

I’m afraid this forum is for pre-sales questions, not technical support.

If you want to build a custom solution and need help you are welcome to post on our PRO forum (once/if you have bought a license – bearing in mind the amount of help the support team can give for this would be minimal, but other members of the community may be able to help you) or on the free support forum at wordpress.org.

Thanks again for getting in touch 🙂

Hi – thanks for the great questions 🙂

Please note for any future issues that it is generally preferable to post separate issues for each question in order to help us serve all our customers as quickly and fairly as possible and also to prevent confusion.

In the list, day and agenda views, is there a way for the event not display after the event is over?

The event should not continue to display after it has ended (in the context of list view). Day view however shows all events taking place that day (though you could implement a customization to hide those that have already passed) and this is by design – but please note within day view you should not ordinarily see Upcoming Events as the title, instead it ought to be something like Events for Monday, March 10th 2014.

Is it possible you are still on list view, here, rather than day view – and are your server and WordPress date/time settings correct?

Please do note that agenda view was created primarily as a prototype for building your own custom views and you’re welcome to use it – but further tweaks are really something you will need to implement yourself.

    How do I duplicate events?

If it is a recurring event you can use our recurrence functionality to set up future instances at predefined intervals – but there is no other means baked in to let you duplicate or clone an event. You might be able to leverage a different plugin for that, though, and we’d certainly welcome this as a feature request.

Is there an option to color code the categories?

Though not something officially supported by Modern Tribe, please do take a look at this plugin.

Lastly, sometimes events don’t have end times, is there a way not just have a start time?

There is no built-in means of doing this, but once again this would be a great candidate for a feature request and/or you could investigate working around this by for instance setting an additional field to flag events as having no end time then conditionally remove the end time in the single event display or anywhere else you need this behaviour. The following resources could be helpful if you want to explore something along those lines:

Thanks – it doesn’t look like any content relating to our plugins is showing up under those conditions. This content caught my eye however:

Join us every Wednesday at River Walk Park in West Sacramento from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. This week’s lineup includes: Drewski’s Hot Rod Kitchen, Bacon MANia, Krush Burger, Happy Cow Ice Cream.

Can you confirm if you have a page or post containing this piece of text, and does it happen to be a page called Events with a slug of events? If so, can you try either trashing and deleting it or else visit the Events Settings and change the main events slug from events to something else, such as calendar?

    Thanks!

    Hi Marcus,

If the developer could provide you with a stack trace leading up to the fatal that would be particularly awesome, but if that’s not possible we can explore other options.

There is something about The Events Calendar Pro (or our settings) that is causing Cron to fail. On a simple install with a basic, unconfigured Events Calendar Pro, Civi cron works, so there must be something unique with our configuration of the plugin.

Does “Civi Cron” have any special meaning? Is that a plugin or other tool you are using to run cron jobs?

What happens in the context of this test installation if you start adding your full stack of plugins/themes – do you reach a point where you can replicate the same issue and do any of the newly added components appear to trigger it?

OK, unfortunately though we’re not going to be able to write a one-time add-on to cover this situation. With that in mind, would it be possible to leverage the Facebook Importer to pull in the events (saving you the effort of copying and pasting the details across) and remove or modify the featured image from there.

Though still involving a step that needs to be done manually, it sounds like its one you would be fairly happy to do?

    OK, that makes some sense.

At this time, however, that isn’t something week view will do by itself. So you can definitely look at making your own customization to achieve this (whether tweaking week view or even building a replacement – though I appreciate that may not be the ideal in your case) or else you could switch to a different view such as list or month and either use them as-is or else customize them in turn.

We’re also definitely open to any feature requests you might make with regards to improving week view or indeed anything else and, if you are interested in exploring the process for making tweaks and customizations, the following resources should be useful:

You can see that it’s in Hayward, CA and the Google map is displaying the location correctly. However when I search for events NEAR Hayward, CA it says “No results were found…”

Just to provide a little context, the map as shown on the single venue page is derived from the address.

By contrast in map view (though I appreciate you don’t have map view enabled at present) it is based on the longitude/latitude. I’d be interested to know, if you did enable map view, if a pinmarker shows in the Hayward area as this would indicate if longitude/latitude data was indeed created and stored for this location.

Assuming for the moment it does not, could you try editing the venue and re-saving to see if that causes the longitude/latitude to be captured?

    Hi Christopher,

    Unfortunately we cannot.

We’re certainly open to exploring new developments along these lines, so posting either a new request or adding your support to a suitable existing request over on UserVoice (I think there may be one or two) is the best way to go here if you want to see a change in how we do things with WooCommerce Tickets going forward.

If you need a solution in the short term though it’s very much something you’d need to drive forward as a customization, whether building from scratch using just The Events Calendar, WooCommerce Tickets and WooCommerce or by also pulling in another suitable plugin.

Sorry we can’t offer more on this occasion.

I’m sorry to hear that – can I ask you to switch it to the Default Page Template just now, though (looks like you are still using the Default Events Template) so I can get a better picture of what happens in those circumstances?

in reply to: Active filters title not reflected on events #116780

Thanks for clarifying – and apologies for the confusion:

But what is the logic of not having both Filter Bar and Events Calendar using the same text domains? So that once we change the Filter Bar Active filters titles it will of course change everywhere?

Since you are using the Filter Bar Settings to control this the text domain isn’t as relevant. I can definitely understand your confusion, but I would draw an analogy with something like the WordPress categories widget: we can assign any title we like, but it doesn’t mean that same title will be used everywhere on the site that there is a reference to categories.

The setting is also clearly “pinned” to the Filter Bar – so while I understand what you are trying to achieve and why, it may equally be something other users wouldn’t like to see (for example, they may simply want to shorten the labels in the context of the filter bar only – simply as a space saving measure – but prefer to keep the full labels elsewhere).

With that said, we are always open to new feature requests if you would like to post one.

As this is not the case how and where do we then change the Single Page Event titles/headings for “Events Category” and “Event Tags” ?

To change the labels that appear in the “meta” section of the single event page you can add snippets like this one to your theme’s functions.php file.

    Does that help?

    Hi!

this should help, looks like i need 2 functions

Or indeed you could use a single filter function like in my above example (instead of returning an empty string, you could return whatever you want if your specific conditions are met).

so where specifically in the new documentation would i find this information? i am all about self help… when i can find it

Our current stack of learning resources is basically as follows:

And of course past answers on the forum augment this. We do realize there are some gaps and hope to continue building on and improving these resources.

    I hope that helps!

That’s definitely strange. Did this just happen all of a sudden without any warning? Or were there any events you can think of – anything from adjusting a setting to updating a plugin or theme – that might have coincided with this problem becoming visible?
