Sorry about that, sbaker2103. Looks like code was being stripped out of the snippet for some reason: I’ve updated it to help ensure you can see the complete body of code – could you check it out and try again?

    Thanks!

Happy to help – and apologies once again for the inconvenience.

    OK, very puzzling.

For some reason Facebook is returning your individual account object even when the page name as used in your second URL is provided. It looks like the numeric ID will be more reliable in this particular instance (221714204510507) … can you give that a whirl instead?

Definitely, please do – and be sure to monitor our products stream for news of further changes as each successive version rolls out ๐Ÿ™‚

OK, but unless I’m mistaken that is indeed set up as a regular individual account (hence it has friends as well as books and sports that it likes, whereas this isn’t normally true of non-individual Facebook accounts/pages).

If you contrast with an organizational page such as http://www.facebook.com/unitednations you can see the difference.

    Does that clarify things?

Excellent, happy to help as ever ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ll go ahead and close this thread but of course if we can assist with anything else please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed – thanks!

    I can definitely appreciate that.

It looks like I forgot to link to our feature request page, however (which is hosted over on UserVoice) – so if you do want to post a request along these lines please do so at:

    tribe.uservoice.com

One of the team will then review and we’ll think about taking it further ๐Ÿ™‚

    Thanks again!

In most browsers you will see a spinning wheel icon or some other indication that work is in progress and the server hasn’t yet returned a response.

Often, as when you load a typical web page, this completes in the space of a few seconds. A good litmus test then is to keep running the merge tool until you find it returns with that sort of snappiness – then run it one more time to be sure.

Of course, use your own judgement according to the speed of your browser, web connection and server – but if it is unable to find any duplicates then after hitting the merge button it ought to reload the page pretty sharpish.

    Does that clarify things?

I can definitely relate to that – and thanks for your patience – I think the next release will contain some changes that meet your needs here.

    Cheers!

    Hi Vernon,

It does rather sound like a conflict (perhaps with your custom post types and/or with another plugin or theme code that hijacks the same menu position used by The Events Calendar).

Unfortunately pre-sales is not somewhere that we can deliver technical support – so I’d ask that if you need further help you post on our wordpress.org support forum (and once you have a license you can of course post here).

    Thanks!

    Hi maranders,

Sorry you’re experiencing such difficulties ๐Ÿ™

My inclination is that the issue here is your hosting environment and its connectivity, but before we jump the gun can I just confirm that deactivating all other plugins as well as switching to a default, unmodified theme had no impact here? (I do see you noted having tried both these steps, I’d just like to be clear that you tried both in tandem and that there was still no improvement in the situation.)

    Thanks!

    Hi!

Yes, that’s the correct and expected behaviour at this time. That said, if you would like to see additional capabilities we more than welcome any feature requests you might post ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks – and let me know if you have further questions about this.

    Hi – great questions!

1 โ€“ Once set up, will the customers be paying directly to us? Do we have to or will they be charged any sort of fees (from you or PayPal or WooCommerce)?

It’s totally depends on you and/or your payment service.

If for instance you accept direct bank transfers then it will potentially be free or perhaps there will be charges imposed by the sender’s bank and by your own bank. If you use PayPal, you will typically be charged a fixed amount plus a percentage per transaction (depending on the actual PayPal ‘product’ that you are using).

Neither we nor WooThemes (who produce WooCommerce) extract a transaction fee or anything like that, however.

2 โ€“ We would like to sell the tickets with individual seat numbers. Can this be entered into the system so it automatically sells seats that are available next to each other? For example, if I buy 5 seats, I would like them to be next to each other (for customerโ€™s convenience).

That’s possible if you don’t mind doing some customization work (it is extremely plastic in the right hands and all sorts of customizations can be implemented) – but that sort of thing is not one of the plugin’s “out of the box” capabilities at this time, I’m afraid.

I hope that answers your questions – but please let me know if I can assist with anything else ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hi!

Right now there is no particularly straightforward means of changing this, though we’re working on making datepicker formats more customizable and that ought to be ready in an upcoming release, so hang tight!

To clarify though, we’re not particularly preferring the US format over any other (in fact, yyyy-mm-dd is more of a “computer format” than a local one – in the US mm/dd/yyyy is typically preferred) and the fundamental challenge is that it is a quite complex thing to reimplement the complete range of PHP date and time formats (which are used by WordPress) in a Javascript component such as a datepicker.

Bear with us though and hopefully some changes we’re working on will cascade down to Community Events and improve the situation some ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hi efromdc,

We can’t offer a great deal of support for custom development questions but we’ll point you in the right direction if we can. However, I’m a little confused as to your question:

I have figured out how to make โ€œtoday,โ€ โ€œtomorrow,โ€ and โ€œweekendโ€ work instead of a specific date but dont know which file to place my custom code into

So I can’t quite picture what parts are working and which parts are not – can you share some more insight into what you’ve done so far and what part you are struggling with?
