New version of plugin is creating duplicate events . I tried your merge event plugin . But it is taking so long time , Is there any fast way to resolve this issue or do you have any patch release for this issue.

    Hi – I’m sorry you’re facing difficulties.

I can also see you were a bit frustrated by how long it took for us to reply – but please do note that we strive to answer within a timeframe of 24hrs of a thread being created (though this can slip at times of peek activity). I should be clear though that this applies to ordinary working days as we do not typically provide support over weekends/public holidays: with that in mind if you open a post sometime Friday you will often need to wait until Monday for a reply.

    To the issue at hand:

I tried your merge plugin but it stops after 10-15 minutes . What should I do now??

In this situation you will need to restart it and run it again – realistically you may need to run it a number of times (if it reloads the page near instantly, though, that suggests it could not find any further duplicates to merge).

Does that clarify things? Sorry for all the inconvenience.

Just a question, How do I know whether this merging is complete or not?

    Thanks

In most browsers you will see a spinning wheel icon or some other indication that work is in progress and the server hasn’t yet returned a response.

Often, as when you load a typical web page, this completes in the space of a few seconds. A good litmus test then is to keep running the merge tool until you find it returns with that sort of snappiness – then run it one more time to be sure.

Of course, use your own judgement according to the speed of your browser, web connection and server – but if it is unable to find any duplicates then after hitting the merge button it ought to reload the page pretty sharpish.

    Does that clarify things?
