MemberOK, so looking at your list of plugins what are the versions for The Events Calendar, Events Calendar PRO and Community Events respectively? Currently you should be using:
- The Events Calendar 2.0.10
- Events Calendar PRO 2.0.10
- Community Events 1.0.4
Does that tally with what is installed and activated?

MemberJames – if the tutorial Jeffrey suggested (which I’m guessing was written by the Mysitemyway team) doesn’t work for you can I suggest getting in touch with them and seeking their advice in the first instance?
This is a very theme-specific question. For any other issues please do feel free to create new threads as appropriate.

MemberWhat I would recommend is backing up first of all, and familiarizing yourself with the steps required to restore that back up – just in case. I’d also suggest using a maintenance mode type plugin to prevent people from inadvertently accessing the site while you update.
To update the latest version of Events Calendar PRO by FTP, download a fresh copy and extract it locally (so on your home or office PC) .. we no longer want it to be in .zip format at this point.
Make sure you look inside the unpacked folder. What we want to avoid is uploading a directory called events-calendar-pro-2.0.10 (or similar) only to find the actual events-calendar-pro plugin directory is nested inside it.
Once you’ve got the plugin directory, use your favourite FTP client and upload it to wp-content/plugins, overwriting the existing directory.
Does that all make sense? Please just ask if you need further clarification.

MemberAnd when you switched to a default, unmodified theme such as Twenty Eleven?
Barry
MemberSo long as you are confident with CSS or JS (depending on how you intend to display and hide the tooltip) and are reasonably comfortable with PHP I wouldn’t imagine this to be terribly tricky 🙂
Barry
MemberHi B., we’d recommend sticking to /%postname%/ as the URL structure. Currently, anything else is liable to cause problems.
Barry
MemberThanks for posting back with the solution Jeffrey – unless you need further help here I’ll close this thread?

MemberHi Petrando.
One approach would be to create a new template to show single organizers (single-tribe_organizer.php, following the template hierarchy conventions) then within the loop – perhaps after the title – you could use code like this: http://pastebin.com/i3KizZf4
That will find events relating to the current organizer and display them in a simple list; you’ll probably want to embellish upon that as it is fairly minimal but it should get you on track.

MemberHi Craig: how did you embed this widget? Was it by dragging and dropping it into a sidebar (the “normal” way in other words) or did you embed it by other means?
One of the reasons I ask is that the Javascript responsible for hiding the spinner and various other things in connection with the calendar widget doesn’t seem to have loaded in this case.
When you opened the thread you annotated that you had tried deactivating other plugins and switching to a default theme … what was the outcome of that test?
Barry
MemberStrange but true, eh? Well glad you’re all sorted. I’ll close this thread now but let me know if you need further help by creating a new thread if necessary.
Thanks for contacting us 🙂

MemberHi Desiree: normally you should be able to see a meta box above the list of events entitled Filters & Columns however that doesn’t seem to be present in the screenshots.
Can you confirm what versions of our plugins (not only Events Calendar PRO but The Events Calendar and any other Modern Tribe plugins, too) you are using. Can you also try our standard troubleshooting steps:
- Ensure that your Modern Tribe plugins are up-to-date and in synch (ie, if The Events Calendar is at version 2.0.10 then so should Events Calendar PRO be at that version)
- Deactivate all other plugins
- Also change your theme: select a default and unmodified theme such as Twenty Eleven
- Now test to see if the problem is still present or has been resolved: if it has been resolved, reactivate everything one-by-one until you discover which component (if any) is conflicting here
These steps are particularly worthwhile as it seems you have another Events-type plugin which has also registered an Events menu, which does raise the potential for a conflict.
Look forward to hearing from you 🙂
Barry
MemberSo to wrap up the first half of the ticket (in case anyone else experiences the same problems as Richelle) that was a problem whereby the list was being filtered inadvertently. The solution was simply to click on the Clear button in the Filters & Columns meta box 🙂
Barry
MemberYour license for Eventbrite Tickets (or any of our premium plugins) really just enables automated updates and provides access to support here, so even if you hadn’t entered it – or entered it incorrectly – it shouldn’t affect anything in an operational sense.
It sounds like you’ve already run through most of the standard troubleshooting steps yourself – so I’d just like to recap where we’re at and I’ll then go and discuss this with my colleagues:
- You can create and edit events without any difficulty
- If you try to register one of those events with Eventbrite however nothing is happening
- You are filling out all required fields, hitting Update/Publish and the event doesn’t hook into Eventbrite … but no error messages are displayed and the fields relating to Eventbrite have been wiped clean
Does that sound accurate? Can I also ask, what versions of our plugins are you using (I see you noted that you are using Eventbrite Tickets 1.0.4 … what about the versions of The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO)?
Thanks for your patience while we look into this 🙂
Barry
MemberIn Events > Settings > Template is it still set to Default Events Template?
Barry
MemberCan you recall any recent changes, plugin updates or new plugins that were installed?
Unfortunately if you can’t run through those troubleshooting steps that kind of limits what we can do to help here. If possible, create a staging or testing site and try to replicate and troubleshoot there 🙂
