Craig
MemberI’m using the events calendar pro along with the community events plugin both of which are the latest version. I’m using the basic twenty ten theme that I’ve customized. The calendar widget on the front page displays but there is a little circle that spins continually and when you click on the months other than the current month nothing happens. I’m not running very many plugins and I’ve tried deactivating them one by one but that doesn’t seem to be the conflict. Any ideas?

MemberHi Craig: how did you embed this widget? Was it by dragging and dropping it into a sidebar (the “normal” way in other words) or did you embed it by other means?
One of the reasons I ask is that the Javascript responsible for hiding the spinner and various other things in connection with the calendar widget doesn’t seem to have loaded in this case.
When you opened the thread you annotated that you had tried deactivating other plugins and switching to a default theme … what was the outcome of that test?

MemberThanks for the response. I did use the “normal” way of dragging and dropping and when I deactivated the other plugins nothing changed.
Thanks for your help

MemberAnd when you switched to a default, unmodified theme such as Twenty Eleven?
November 28, 2012 at 7:28 am #28622Craig
MemberSame problem, but when I switched back to my prior theme I received this message “The following plugins are out of date: The Events Calendar: Community Events 1.0.3. Please update now. All add-ons contain dependencies on The Events Calendar and will not function properly unless paired with the right version.”
So I tried to update the plugin and it tells me that I have the latest version yet I’m still seeing the error message.
Hope this helps

MemberOK, so looking at your list of plugins what are the versions for The Events Calendar, Events Calendar PRO and Community Events respectively? Currently you should be using:
- The Events Calendar 2.0.10
- Events Calendar PRO 2.0.10
- Community Events 1.0.4
Does that tally with what is installed and activated?

MemberOkay, both the Events Calendar Pro and the community events addon are not the latest version. I looked through the forum but didn’t really see a specific process for updating. Can you please point me in the right direction to perform the updates?
Thanks
PS Under the license tab I don’t have an option to enter my license key, am I missing something?

MemberWell, yes, you should see a number of fields relating to each premium plugin in which you can enter your keys. If you aren’t, then that’s either a conflict with another plugin or possibly because of the disparity in versions between the various Modern Tribe plugins that you are currently running.
I think the best course of action here would be to update manually, especially if you are unable to use automated updates for your premium plugins.
The basic process is the same as uploading and installing a plugin manually, albeit you will be overwriting the existing version of each plugin. That process is outlined here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Managing_Plugins#Manual_Plugin_Installation
Essentially, you would download the .zip archives for both Events Calendar PRO and Community Events to your local computer and extract them there.
You should be left with two directories – events-calendar-pro and the-events-calendar-community-events – if you don’t then it’s possible you’ll find them inside the extracted folders.
Now upload those to the wp-content/plugins directory, overwriting the existing ones.
Does that make sense/clear as mud?
