    Hey Mike,

I believe what would help in styling if you would add a <div></div> container around that whole block (the heading and the link). Then you can format that div block with css, add margin, padding, whatever is needed to align it with the rest.

These 2 articles should help you in that as well. You can find out the settings for the other 2 blocks and try use the same.

    Using Google Chrome Developer Tools

Hope this gets you into the finish line. πŸ™‚

Let me know if you need any more guidance.

    Hello again,

A lightbulb just got flicked on above my head. πŸ™‚

If I see correctly you are not using The Events Calendar plugin. We are aware of this glitch that without that you do not see the Help page. A fix is under way for this.

Until then, even if you don’t want to use the functionality, please install the plugin (it’s free) and activate it. Then you should see the help page.

And while you’re at it, please check if that solves your main issue. (Whether it does or not, we will need to investigate this further I believe.)

Thanks for your patience so far!

    Cheers,

    Hi Robert,

Thanks for getting back to me on that. Sorry that we couldn’t yet solve the issue.

I’m not quite sure what the problem could be so I’m going to pull in an extra set of eyes to take a look at this. I ask for your kind patience. We’ll get back to you soon.

    Thanks and cheers,
    Andras

    Hi Philip,

Although there is no fix for this yet, there is something that might fix this for you.

I have discovered this happens (the recurrence doesn’t show) if the duration of the recurrence is the same as the duration of the original event.

In your example this is 2 hours 15 minutes. Try setting the duration to 2 hours 16 minutes and check if that solves it for you. Please let me know the result.

    Hey Douglas,

Thanks for getting back to us on that. Let’s go one by one and let’s try to tackle these issues.

    1. Recurring Events – Month View
    – If you click the β€œView All _ Events”, the event in question does not show in the list. Actually, on some dates it does and others it does not. Very random.

Can you share with me an example? Please note, that when you click on “View All”, then past events will not be listed there, only the future ones. Is this maybe the case?

    – If you are in the event and click the β€œSee All” link, nothing shows. This is the case for all recurring events and not just this particular event.

I tested your site and seems to be working fine. Can you confirm?

    2. Recurring Events – List View
    – If you are in list view for the entire month, you will not see all of the events. One day has 13 events and only one is showing another day has multiple events and they are all showing.

Can you share an example here as well?

Note, there is a setting under Events > Settings > General tab > Recurring event instances with which you can hide the recurrences in list views. This is how it looks like: https://cloudup.com/ihhTKr74dfq

If I look at the screenshot of the messed up admin, this is checked. (The second checkbox.) I believe if you remove that check, then this should be solved.

    3. Recurring Events – Day View
    – Same issue as above. It will show all but one event in the list.

Same as above, can you please share an example here as well?

The settings page in the admin area seems to be pretty messed up as well.

Is this still the case, is it still messed up? Is it also messed up when you switch to a default theme like twentysixteen and deactivate all plugins except The Events Calendar?

If yes, then please open the Web Developer tools in your browser, go to Console and reload the settings page. Then check if you see any error messages in the console.

Also, you can try to reinstall the Calendar plugins and see if that solves it.

Waiting to hear back from you.

    Cheers,
    Andras

    Hi Eric,

    Thanks for reporting back!

I tested now the 2 URLs you shared (as new imports) and for both, both organizers and venues were imported just fine.

How is your Event Update Authority set up? Is it set to overwrite or do not reimport?

Would it be possible for you to test those to URLs on a different / dev / staging site?

    Thanks and cheers,
    Andras

    Hello again,

A bit of help / info would be needed from you, in order to move faster with this case.

    • Could you please share some Facebook urls / pages where you are pulling events from and have issues with?
    • How are the scheduled imports set up? Could you share a screenshot or two of that?
    • What is your Event Update Authority setting? You can find this under Events > Settings > Import tab and looks like this: https://cloudup.com/cvGYf71lZE2

Thanks in advance, your help is much appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Hello again Philip,

Our developers are working on the scheduled Facebook import issue, and a bit of help / info would be needed from you.

First as a note on how scheduled imports work. They are basically saved cron jobs, tasks that run after a period of time. But in order for them to kick in a visit to the website is needed, that is what starts a cron job.

E.g. you might have an import set up for every hour, but if it is night and nobody visits your site for couple hours, then no imports will happen. This can be influenced if you use an alternate cron manager. Are you using anything like this?

    Also you are saying:

I have had several issues with the other time periods as well…

Could you elaborate on this, please? Is the issue with all of them that the scheduled imports don’t work? Or something else?

    And for the info needed:

    • Could you share some Facebook urls / pages where you are pulling events from?
    • How are the scheduled imports set up? Could you share a screenshot or two of that?
    • What is your Event Update Authority setting? You can find this under Events > Settings > Import tab and looks like this: https://cloudup.com/cvGYf71lZE2

Thanks in advance, your help is much appreciated!

    Cheers,
