ParticipantWe have a multisite license, but when switching the subdirectories on our website to subdomains, the plugin now says we’re out of installs. Not sure what the procedure is on this to make this message go away. The amount of installs was fine before, we only got this error after setting the subdirectories on subdomains.

KeymasterHello Robert,
Thanks for using our plugins and welcome to the forums!
I’m sorry you are having this issue with the multisite license.
I’m going to ask you the “Did you try switching in off an on again?” type of question. Did you try removing the license key, save, then add the license key back? Does that do the trick?
Please check and let me know.
Cheers,

ParticipantAndrás-
Thanks for the response, but unfortunately that didn’t resolve the issue. I tried disabling the plugin, clearing the cache, re-enabling and putting in the license key, but it doesn’t appear to make the issue go away.On that train of that thought, I thought I might try changing the site back to a subdirectory, disable, switch to a subdomain and re-enable, but that doesn’t appear to work either.

KeymasterHey Robert,
I’m sorry that didn’t work. You might need to reconnect your license to your site after it has been changed to subdomains.
Here’s how to do that.
- Remove the license key from your WordPress site
- Log in to your account at theeventscalendar.com and go to license keys (https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/license-keys/)
- Click on ‘Disconnect Now’ next to the domain name
- Log in to your WordPress site and add the key again.
This should re-register your site to the license key. I hope this helps, let me know. If not, the we’ll look further.
Cheers,

Unfortunately, I’ve already tried this and it didn’t seem to resolve the issue.November 24, 2016 at 8:19 am #1197028Andras
KeymasterHello Robert,
Dang!
I will need to get an extra set of eyes for this. This can take some time as most of the team is out for thanksgiving. Please bear with me, while we check this out.
Thanks and happy thanksgiving!

KeymasterHi Robert,
I tested this on a development site and I couldn’t reproduce the issue. These are the steps I took:
- Create a new WP install and add TEC and EC Pro plugins
- Convert the site to multisite with sub-directories based on this guide: https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/wordpress-multisite-masterclass-activation-configuration/
- Activate calendar plugins. Add Pro license key, which showed valid.
- Change multisite setup from sub-directories to subdomains based on this guide: https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/change-multisite-sub-directories-sub-domains/
- Modify some DNS settings for the subdomains to work.
- Check license key under Network Admin > Settings > Events Settings > Licenses tab and the license still showed valid.
Note: I didn’t have to remove or disconnect the license key.
So it seems to have worked without issues for me. Can you check the steps I did and compare if you did something different? Maybe that will help us narrow down the issue at hand.
Thanks and cheers,
Andras

KeymasterImportant question: did you change the main domain name? In case yes, then you will need to disconnect your license key for sure on the License keys page.
A.

ParticipantSorry for the delay. No. The domain name hasn’t changed. I tried removing the domain from the install and I can install it to the main domain just fine, but it still doesn’t activate on any of the subdomains. I even tried redoing the network as you described and I get the out of installs error.
Edit: Just to clarify, the Network Installs shows 13 installs which is the correct amount. The main domain shows valid key, but the subdomains do not.

KeymasterHi Robert,
Thanks for getting back to me on that. Sorry that we couldn’t yet solve the issue.
I’m not quite sure what the problem could be so I’m going to pull in an extra set of eyes to take a look at this. I ask for your kind patience. We’ll get back to you soon.
Thanks and cheers,
