KeymasterHello Michael,
Thanks for using our plugins and welcome to the forums!
I’m sorry you are having this timezone issue when importing events. I have checked and tested the feed you provided.
It looks like just as you said: the feed is not providing any porper timezone. So what happens is, it takes the timezone of your site and uses that with the date/time given in the file itself.
I was testing different scenarios with settings but unfortunately I wasn’t able to figure out any workaround for this. You will need either need to manually adjust all the events time/date, or change somehow the ics feed/file. You can do this if you download the file, but then you would need to do a manual import every time. Or you could try to get in touch with the providers of the feed to check how the timezone is added to their feed. Currently I see this in the feed, and I’m not sure how that defines the timezone:
PRODID;X-RICAL-TZSOURCE=TZINFO:-//com.denhaven2/NONSGML ri_cal gem//ENI’m sorry I cannot give you better news for this. But adding some timezone support for importing .ics is on our roadmap. At the moment I cannot say when it will be implemented though.
I hope this at least gives you some answers, even if it doesn’t provide a solution.
Let me know if I can be of any more help.

KeymasterOkay, that is a bit weird and it definitely shouldn’t be like that. There could be some conflict with the theme or a plugin.
Does your theme come with The Events Calendar plugin built in?
Can you check what happens if you switch to a default theme like twentysixteen? Do you still get the months in the widget instead of the days?
If yes, can you please run a full conflict test based on this guide?
Let me know if that turns up something and we’ll continue from there.

KeymasterOh, yeah, that’s a great find dgpixel!
Thank you for the explanation, I hear you loud and clear. Unfortunately at the moment I don’t have a solution for this, but I have created an internal ticket, so it can get fixed in the future.
Thanks for finding and reporting this, much appreciated!
I am going to set the status of this ticket to “pending fix” and we will update it once the fix is released.
If you have any new questions or issues please create a new ticket and reference this one.

KeymasterHi Marianne,
Yes, if you put that file in the following folder, then it will survive a plugin update:
wp-content\themes/{your-theme}\tribe-events\modules\address.php
It is usually recommended not to change the core files for exactly the lost-at-update reason. That is why we have created the possibility to make overrides like that. If a file can have an override, then you will see the details at the beginning of the file. And for some other details our Themer’s Guide and Template Overview (linked above) are a good starting point.
Let me know if you need any more help with this. 🙂

KeymasterHi Riza,
There most probably would be a way to modify how the search works, though we are limited in doing customizations like that. If you’d like I can share with you a list of developers from the community who might be able to help you out with that.
I can offer two alternatives:
Option 1: In backend, if you put the location – city, state, country (abbreviated and spelled out) into the description for each event and eliminate the Near field from search bar on frontend, the main Search field will find your event based on the city/state/country.
Option 2: with our Filter Bar extension you can set up different filters, including country and state / province. This might help you as well.
Does this help?

KeymasterHappy to hear that fixed it!
Since this is marked resolved I am going to close this ticket, but if you need anything else related to this topic or another please post a new topic in the forum and we will help you out.
Good luck with your project!

AndrasPS: If you like our plugin, and you didn’t yet do so 🙂 we would be happy to receive a review in the wordpress.org repository. Thanks!

KeymasterHi Werner,
Yeah, you got that right. 🙂 My bad, the clipboard tricked me into sending you the same path twice.
@Nick, does that work our for you as well? Would be happy to know.
Thanks and cheers,

KeymasterCuriosity was driving me a bit so …
Maybe this will help you as a customization:
WordPress: re-enable Publicize for already published posts via Jetpack Publicize
Or this as a replacement plugin:

KeymasterHi Rosemary,
Thanks for reaching out with your question.
I have talked to one of the developers on this, and “it’s something where, while perhaps it doesn’t satisfy the validation tool you are using, the approach is nonetheless practical and well supported by browsers”.
It looks like it was a deliberate decision not to move it to the header and for that reason I would leave it there.
I hope this clarifies the situation. Let me know.

KeymasterHello Joanne,
Thanks for going Pro and welcome to the forums! Let me try to help you solve that.
When you are clicking on the “View all” it takes you to the calendar view which is 1) set as the default view under Events > Settings > Display tab > Default view; and to the current month.
So in your case that is the month view of January.
It looks like that in January you don’t have any events from the “trnsp” category, that is why you get that message, but if you flip over to February you will already see some.
A solution would be to set the Default view to List view.
Would that help? Let me know.

KeymasterHello Mathieu,
Thanks for getting in touch! I’m really sorry you are experiencing this. This is likely a bug that we already know about, and for which a fix is on the way.
To be able to verify that I would like to ask a couple things:
- Please share your system information with me
- Share with me a URL or the URLs where you are trying to import from, so I can run a test
- Please check what happens if you go to the Scheduled Imports tab and you try to run an import manually. Does it run and do the import or fails again?
Thanks for getting back to me with those.

KeymasterHello Erica,
Thanks for going Pro and welcome to the forums! Great question you have there and thank you for reaching out.
Unfortunately how Jetpack works is not our domain and we cannot influence or change how Publicize works. It basically pushes a post to the social networks when they are being published. When you are creating a recurring event, then all recurrences are immediately published on your calendar so they are also pushed to the social networks.
Only way around this could be if you create the recurring event, but only add new recurrences when you want them to be publicized. But that means they would also only appear in your calendar at that time.
Other solution would be using a different plugin for sharing on social networks that lets you choose the time of sharing.
Does this answer your question?

KeymasterHi Sally,
Thanks for reaching out with your question.
At the moment that is not a functionality that is available out of the box. To develop this would require quite some time and customization work, which we are very limited in doing and supporting, but I can point you in the right direction.
I would start with the
$wp_query->found_posts. Probably the best place to access this would be this action: https://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Action_Reference/posts_selectionIt is probable that checking this variable will tell you the total amount found. If it doesn’t and instead shows the number of events on the displayed page (which would usually be 20), then a little more work will be necessary. Then you will need to rerun the query but will need to remove an item or two from the
WHEREclause.I hope this helps.

KeymasterCiao dgpixel,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
I’m sorry, I don’t fully understand the questions / issue at hand. Could you explain in a bit more detail?
What is the action you are taking? What is the expression you are searching for?
In which field are you searching and on which page?
What is the result that you would expect?
What is the result that you get?
Thanks for clarifying and looking forward to helping you with this.

KeymasterHello nnyorker,
Thanks for checking in. We have an internal bug ticket for this issue and will be looked at by our developers soon. Unfortunately there is no date yet fixed when this will be resolved.
I ask for a bit of patience and I’ll check with the team if they can give me an update on this.
I’ll be in touch as soon as I get more info.
Cheers,
