    Hi Paul!

I’m sorry you are experiencing that issue. Let me help you with the troubleshooting.

First, could you please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG ? This will create a debug.log file inside the /wp-content directory.

After that, try reproducing the issue a few times, so that in case there is an error, it will be saved into the debug.log file. Please share that log file with us so we can find the source of the problem from there.

Please note that you can’t upload txt files into our forums, so I suggest you put the debug.log file into a zip file and then upload it.

Please let us know about that.

    Thanks,
    Victor

    Hi John!

Thanks for getting in touch with us! Let me help you with this topic.

Unfortunately, the backend search uses the WordPress built-in functionality to search posts.

I recommend you have a look at our Advanced Post Manager plugin > https://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-post-manager/ that integrates well with our Events Calendar PRO plugin so you can improve the backend listings with metadata(event start date), taxonomies and more.

I hope that helps and don’t hesitate to ask any follow up questions.

    Best,
    Victor

    Hi Uwe!

Thanks for getting in touch with us! 🙂

We recently had a user wanting to achieve the same thing, but as you can see in their thread > https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/where-to-place-acf_form_head-to-save-submitted-data/ the community form is a tricky one.

I recommend you go through that thread as I’ve found many snippets that could be of real help while you develop this further.

There is also this thread from that same user that can serve as reference > https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/backend-integration-of-advanced-custom-fields/

I hope that helps. Let me know if any questions.

    Best,

    Hi Michele!

Thanks for reaching out to us! Let me try to help you with this topic.

There is no built-in functionality to show all the events in a specific year. As you can see, you can set a date for when to list events from, but the number of events that will be listed depends on the Number of events to show per page setting (Events > Settings).

You can, however, achieve what you are looking for with some custom coding. We are limited in how much support we can give for custom development questions, but let me point you to the following article that will get you started on how to customize our templates > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/

I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

    Hi Saskia!

Thanks for reaching out to us! Let me help you with this topic.

Unfortunately, the import functionality does not currently support importing recurring events as such. Though, they can be imported as single events, so if you have a recurring event, each instance should be in its own row.

You can update existing events via a CSV import. You can adjust import settings by going to Events > Settings > Imports tab.

As a reference, let me point you to the following article that shows the process of importing from a CSV file > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/importing-data-from-a-csv-file/. Also, you will find CSV file examples in the following article > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/csv-files-options-and-examples/

I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any follow up question and I’ll be happy to help 🙂

    Hi Andre!

Thanks for coming back with all that info.

The venue issue seems really strange. Do you experience the same while creating a new venue from scratch?

The debug.log info only shows PHP notices coming from the bb-theme-builder plugin, which by the look of the directory structure seems that it does customize something in our plugins.

I know you have tried deactivating all other plugins and switching to a default theme for the location search not working. Could you please go through the testing for conflicts guide but this time to see if you can create/save the venue information and see if the lat/long coordinates do get saved?

If you see no difference in those conditions, then we’ll need to do some deeper troubleshooting.

Let me know how that goes.

    Thanks,
    Victor

    Hi There!

Just wanted to let you know that we’ve been able to fix this issue and the images should now be importing again. There is no need to update your plugins as this was something caused in the Event Aggregator server side of things.

Please try running your imports and see if the fix works for your sites.

Hi John! Thanks for chiming in here.

We strive to make our plugins better every day, so I will make sure to pass your feedback, as well as the other comments in this thread, along to the team so we can take it into account when looking for new ways to improve how we deliver our plugin updates and communicate things better as well (plugin updates vs EA server updates).

We apologise for all the inconvenience this issue have caused you.

Please let us know if the fix works for your site.

    Hi Tim!

Thanks for keeping us posted about the progress.

The slowness you are experiencing might be because the imports had to import images for all the events at once, thus taking more time to your site to process the images. When re-importing those events a second time, it should take less time because the images are already in your site.

Regarding the message you are getting, it indicates the import is currently being processed in the background via a cron job, so you can navigate away and perform other actions in the meantime.

I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

Hi Brian! thanks for chiming in here.

I’m really sorry the images issue has impacted you as well. I can totally understand your frustration with it.

As you can see we have been able to fix this yesterday as it was an issue on the Event Aggregator server side of things, so please try the imports again and see if it works for your site. If you encounter any problem, please let us know about it by opening a new topic. This will help us keep things more organized and make sure we give the proper attention to each of you.

We apologise for any inconvenience this might have caused. And we appreciate your patience with this.

    Hi Andre!

    Thanks for trying that out.

So the reason the location search is not working is because the venues don’t have the lat and long coordinates needed.

If the coordinates are not being generated when saving the venue, then this means the Google API is not fetching the data somehow.

When on the edit venue page and after saving the venue, could you please see if there are any console errors by inspecting the page? We have an article that explains how to do that here > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-google-chrome-developer-tools

Trying with a new Google API key is also a good idea to see if it changes anything.

Additionally, please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG. This will create a debug.log file inside the /wp-content directory.

After that, try saving the venue a few times, so that in case there is an error, it will be saved into the debug.log file. Please share that log file with us so we can see if any problem from there.

Let me know how that goes.

    Thanks,
    Victor

    Hi Nick!

I’m sorry I confused your name before.

Thanks for following up with this.

I have tried reproducing the issue using WordPress version 4.8.4 but couldn’t, so it seems unlikely the WordPress version is the source of the problem. That said, we always encourage to use the latest versions of WordPress available.

Before diving into the tests I mentioned, have you tried using a different browser or device to see if any difference? I have researched the ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE error you are getting and it seems many times the problem resides in the browser and/or could also be related to a problem on the server side.

I’d suggest you also get in touch with the hosting provider to see if they can offer some insight about the issue.

Let us know how that goes.

    Hi Andre!

Thanks for getting in touch with us. Let me help you troubleshoot that issue.

I tried to reproduce the same in my own local installation but could’t.

Could you please go to your wp-admin and while editing a venue see if the latitude and longitude fields are filled in? You can discover those fields by clicking the ‘Use latitude + longitude’ checkbox.

If they show up empty, then please try saving the venue again with the ‘Use latitude + longitude’ option unchecked, and see if the coordinates get filled in.

Please, let me know about that.

    Thanks,
    Victor
