Hey Marcos. Good questions here; I’ve asked Jonah to respond accordingly. I should note that he’s out the next few days and while he will be doing some forum work, it’ll be more sporadic than usual. So while I think it’s safe to say you’ll have a response here by the end of the weekend I cannot guarantee it’ll be today. Apologies on that end.

Thanks for the heads up, Alan, and for confirming that you got this resolved. It sounds like you’re all set here but if you need anything else from us down the road just holler.

Hey Robert. Have you cleared your cache to see if it could be related to the caching problems you suggested? That’d be my first bet too.

Hi there Robert. Thanks for the follow-up; sorry to hear that didn’t meet your needs. If you wanted to show specific categories within your content (but independent of the broader calendar) you may want to check out our template tag documentation, as it should point you in the right direction to do so. That can be found at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation. We also just published a themer’s guide that is pretty in-depth and may help you out. It’s at https://theeventscalendar.com/themers-guide-to-the-events-calendar/.

Good luck! Let us know if you have any other questions from there.

Hi there John. Is it possible this could be related (http://d.pr/i/Vpww)? You don’t have that box checked, do you?

Hi there Jen. Thanks for the heads up; sounds like the “United States” issue is resolved, but the minutes one is certainly a concern. Does this occur when you change your time zone settings for the WP site? Specifically, going either to a UTC offset if you weren’t previously; or moving away from a UTC offset if you were on it? My guess is that this is somehow related to that and I’d like to see if we can prove that.

Let me know and I’ll try to get this resolved. Even though it’s just 1 minute, that would be worth cleaning up if we can identify the cause.

Thanks for the follow-ups, Sheila. On your points from the first follow-up:

    2. Ah, I see what you’re saying here. This would require a little extra customization and I could get Jonah to take a look and try to point you in the right direction…but it looks like based off the note after that this is unnecessary. Correct me if I’m wrong there.

Advanced search is definitely in the works. We just yesterday decided to incorporate category-based dropdowns on the grid if users want it, and we’re trying to add that into our release that’s out the first week of July (2.0.8). An even more in-depth search for events nearby, etc will probably be released shortly thereafter.

Where feature requests beyond what I just mentioned are concerned…generally the best place for them is the dedicated thread here on the forums (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/events-calendar-pro-feature-requests/). We are using that to help determine future release cycles and so anything posted is given a vote accordingly.

Hope that helps. Let me know if it didn’t and I can get you what you need.

Thanks for the ideas, guys. Sounds like there are a couple of ways folks could approach it depending on whether they were using iCal or RSS, but it looks like we’re in a good shape here either way. Let me know if anyone is still having issues.

Alright, I think I understand the issue now Billy – thanks for confirming. I’m wondering if this has something to do with your timezone settings, as I’m running a very similar setup (even down to the theme) and do not see this on my end. If you can let me know what is set under Settings -> General regarding the time…I can try to recreate myself and get fixed as needed. Thanks!

Hey there Javier. Thanks for reaching out, and for the feedback here. To address these points:

    1. So if I understand you correctly, you want a default events template different than the one provided under Settings –> The Events Calendar? If so, have you checked out whether Jonah’s recently-published themer’s guide could be of service on this? It’s right here: https://theeventscalendar.com/themers-guide-to-the-events-calendar/. Let me know if that doesn’t help and I’ll see if Jonah can comment directly.

    2. The only tag functionality we’ve got at this point would have to be done with a hack we published on the site here a while ago based on a user-provided article (https://theeventscalendar.com/integrating-wordpress-categories-tags-with-your-events/). We do have official tag support coming in 2.1 that should be a smoother experience. And we also just today began working on a geo-search to show to do exactly what you’ve noted: allow users to search for, say, events in my city or 5 miles from me or whatever. If you were looking for something more immediate it’s possible it could be coded manually or done with a third-party plugin…but sadly that’s outside the realm of what we can provide customization on at this point.

Sorry I couldn’t offer up more. If you’ve got questions on the above or any follow-ups, let me know and I’ll do what I can to assist. Thanks!

Thanks for confirming as much, Robert – I understand now and appreciate the clarification.

At this point, on the multisite end, the plugin unfortunately cannot provide a broader parent calendar based purely off content from the sub-sites. We have had some demand for this and are exploring what it’d take to integrate down the road but at the time being that’d have to be hacked together (or done with a third-party plugin). If you wanted an easier way to get events imported we have a CSV importer I’d be happy to let you beta test…but for now that’s probably the best solution I’ve got.

Apologies we couldn’t offer up more. If you have other questions or if I can elaborate on my answer here, do let me know.

Hey Meg. I’ve asked Jonah to take another look at this in case he didn’t see your follow-up; but just a heads up that he’s currently on vacation so is responding to forums in a less timely fashion. He’ll be able to take a look at this sometime over the weekend but I cannot guarantee it’ll be today. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience so far.

Thanks for the heads up, Jim – and for the words about your experience so far. We really appreciate it and your support; it’s what keeps us going at this from day to day. The information you’ve provided above is solid and should be of value to other users who come with the same concern down the road.

As for the WP_Router issue…we do have that on the radar for our next release after 2.0.7, which was locked down already by the time we figured out a fix (and is shipping next week). This means it’ll be out in our 2.0.8 build at the start of July. Thanks for your patience and bearing with us in the interim. If we can do anything else just holler.
