Hi, Kyle. Thanks for the note here…it sounds like you’re upset, and I apologize this feature has left you feeling that way. We just recently concluded our first usability test and interestingly enough found that the majority of users who’ve installed 2.0.7 have found admin bar Events menu intuitive. The goal there is to make things easier on site administrators. That being said, I can understand if you didn’t want users on a membership site to see it and am happy to help you out in finding a resolution.

To address your specific question: I asked our dev about this and he was able to provide me with some code for your functions.php file that should do the trick. Check it out: https://gist.github.com/2951975. Alternatively, you could of course always disable the admin bar entirely for your frontend users, under their specific profile pages, so no admin bar options at all were present. Your note has also pushed us to plan for adding this setting as a constant that users can enable/disable as they see fit with a line of code in their wp-config file. Thanks for your help in getting that on the docket, too.

I hope this does the trick in resolving your issue and gets the site back to where you want it to be. If there are other features that you think aren’t necessary (the “loads of crap” you reference above), I’d be interested in hearing what those were so we could assess all viewpoints in plotting future release cycles. My email address is rob (a) tri.be should you ever want to send over your thoughts.

Thanks again for your support and patience so far. Please let us know what else we can do.

Hey Ryan: thanks for the note here. Sorry to hear that you’re having issues; that’s a weird problem and in all my pre-launch testing / all the error messages I generated, I never saw that one. What happens if you create a ticket on EB and import…does that work?

Are you running this on a test environment or someplace where I could take a look at the backend and try to recreate myself? If not, might be worth shooting me your API user key so I could test as you. Either way if you shoot an email to pro /a/ tri.be, referencing this thread and with whatever information you can provide, I’ll try to help get to the bottom of this. My apologies for the inconvenience in the interim.

Hi there Freddie. Thanks for the note. This is not the intended behavior of the calendar, no – but we have had a handful of users report it. The problem looks specific to certain themes. Is it possible that this thread (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/calendar-page-title-shows-title-of-an-event-and-wont-change/#post-19270) provides a solution for you? By default, when working correctly, it reads as Calendar of Events.

Let me know if that doesn’t do the trick and I’ll follow-up best I can. Thanks for your patience so far.

That’s one way to test 🙂 We’re doing these monthly maintenance releases the first week of the each month now so we won’t have long to wait. Let me know once that rolls around and we’ll take it from there.

Hey Kenny. Thanks for the note here; no guarantees we’ll be able to assist as we didn’t write that code to begin with, but let me see whether our dev Jonah can point you in the right direction when he hits the forums next. Stay tuned!

Thanks for confirming Duncan – that is very strange. While I’m fresh out of ideas on my end, let me get Jonah from our dev team to take a look here when he hits the forum next (either later tonight or sometime tomorrow). He should be able to shed a more technical set of eyes.

I apologize for the inconvenience in the interim. Stay tuned and we’ll see if we can get this ironed out.

Hey Burk: totally! We’ve been meaning to finalize the remaining feedback and get that sucker out but a surge in support these past couple weeks has delayed that a bit. Happy to hook you up with the beta in the interim. (There are no alternatives that I’m aware of, but you may be able to find a third-party plugin that can assist). If you are game to work with some beta software shoot us an email (pro /a/ tri.be) and we’ll hook it up. Thanks for your interest!

Hey Rachel: sure thing. If you send an email to pro /a/ tri.be with a link to the site and to this thread as a frame of reference, we’ll take a look and try to troubleshoot from there. (Though, let’s keep discussion beyond that exchange here on the forum in case anyone else experiences the issue).

Thomas: thanks for the heads up here, glad to hear you’re not having any problems on your end. If anything does emerge definitely let us know as it’ll be another clue to the puzzle.

Good point, Jim. Noted and we do have that on the docket, when we can get around to it 🙂

Calvin: thanks for the note here. Do you mean on the backend? Shouldn’t draft events be bulk editable regardless of whether the Community add-on is active or not? Or have I misunderstood the request here entirely?

Let me know and I’ll try to get you an appropriate response here.

I know we have the idea of porting the custom field options from the “Additional Fields” on Settings (the same as in the backend event creation) to Community at some point. Is that what you’re interested in accomplishing here or have I misunderstood?

Hey Jesse: good question. Not sure about this one myself, but let me get Jonah to take a look when he hits the forum next to see if he can shed some light on it.

This is a solid idea, Craig. Are you speaking specifically to Community Events? IE would this only be submitted events by users, or would it pull in from admin (normal) created events as well? Just want to make sure I fully understand 🙂

Thanks for confirming as much, Vanessa. We’ve been pretty slammed on the support side this week so responses are taking a tad longer than normal, but this is in the next pile of threads Jonah will be hitting so you should have a response shortly. My apologies for the inconvenience so far.
