MemberNo problem, Ruth. Let’s keep the discussion going over at that other thread. I’m going to close this one out to avoid confusion 🙂
Rob
MemberHey again Mike. On this question: the backend update prompt should appear whenever a new version is available, yes. It will appear at different times for free & PRO, since the engine driving the update prompt is different. It will only appear for the PRO release if you had your license key entered under Settings -> The Events Calendar. (However, if no update prompt appears, you can always re-download the release here at the tri.be site on the Account Central -> Downloads page).
Hope that helps. Let me know if I can answer anything else.
Rob
MemberHi there Kyle. Thanks for the note here, and I apologize that we took a couple days to get you a response – for some reason our system marked you as SPAM and the thread didn’t publish as a result.
Have you checked out our recently-published themer’s guide (at https://theeventscalendar.com/themers-guide-to-the-events-calendar/)? For the list issue, that should help clear up the CSS problems. Let me know if not, though.
As for the bullets…I’m not actually seeing the problem there. Do you mean with the widget on the homepage?
Rob
MemberHi there Anne! Thanks for reaching out and for using the plugin. While this isn’t something I personally can advise you on, it should be doable. (You may want to check out our recently-published themer’s guide at https://theeventscalendar.com/themers-guide-to-the-events-calendar/ to see if that helps). I’ve also asked Joyce, the newest member of our support team, to take a look and try to point you in the right direction when she hits the forums next. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience so far.
Rob
MemberThe license key is valid, definitely. But if you don’t have it plugged into the backend of the site (and verified with the green date confirming when it expires) the update prompt won’t appear on your plugins list or anywhere else on the backend. It possible that’s the cause?
Rob
MemberAwesome to hear. Thanks, Jeremy. Since everyone seems to pretty much be set here I’m going to close out this thread. If folks have problems with this again please open a new thread and provide a link to this one if needed.
Thanks again, Andy!
Rob
MemberThanks Chris! No guarantees but I have sent him a note to see if we can work together to figure out what’s up here. If we can we’ll have the code included in whatever maintenance release is up that month (hopefully for July’s, which will be out in a few weeks). I’ll let you know if any short-term solution comes about as well.
Rob
MemberHey Rachel. I think I addressed this in another Pagelines thread (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/pagelines/). Let’s keep the discussion going there for consistency sake.
Rob
MemberHey folks! Thanks for the notes and Susan, my apologies for taking a few days to get you a response here. The Facebook Events add-on has indeed been released and can be found right here: https://theeventscalendar.com/facebook-events/. If you need more information on it or have questions beyond what’s listed at that page, definitely let me know.
Chris: if I understand your question correctly, the Google Calendar option shouldn’t exist in the free release whether or not you’re on a multisite. That and iCal are PRO features and with PRO activated they should apply to sites across the board on a multisite network. Let me know if I’ve misunderstood the question here, though, and I can elaborate.
Rob
MemberHi Rachel. Thanks for the heads up…sorry to hear of the inconvenience. The mini-calendar is a PRO exclusive feature, so that would explain why you’re only seeing it there. My guess is this has to do with some of the changes we made for 2.0.7 to add monthly navigation for that widget. Can you share a link to the site so we can see this in action?
Rob
MemberHey Jayson. That is definitely bizarre; I haven’t experienced this yet but it’s definitely possible there is a bug here. Can you share with me the event ID of that problematic event and I can try on my end to see what’s up? It’d be awesome if you could also drop in an event ID for one of the events that DID work. We’ll do our best to troubleshoot from there.
Rob
MemberThis is a great idea, Jayson – I’ve logged it as a ticket for next month’s monthly maintenance release since I too can see the value in this. No guarantees it’ll make the cut (if for some reason it presents itself as a dev challenge) but my guess is it should be doable. Thanks for the idea and apologies I couldn’t offer up more in the short term.
Rob
MemberHey Terri: keep the !important; code handy in case you need to throw it back in, but have you tried removing/saving to see if that does the trick?
Also, just a heads up that we generally don’t hit the forum here on the weekends. Apologies there; you can definitely feel free to post as you have problems but I just want to set expectations accordingly…as usually those won’t be responded to until sometime on Monday. Thanks again for your continued support, and for your patience on this issue 🙂
Rob
MemberYup 🙂 Jonah’s probably off for the day by now but I’ve thrown this back into his pile so we can hopefully get this resolved for you tomorrow. Thanks for your patience so far.
Rob
MemberHey Bob: thanks for the heads up. You can always manually download the latest release (immediately upon it’s release) from the tri.be website, by logging in and going to Account Central -> Downloads. Click Events Calendar PRO and it will automatically download whatever the latest release in the system may be.
You shouldn’t have to do that, though…there should be a prompt on the backend of your site by now. The only reason there wouldn’t be is if the license key isn’t entered/validated. That possible?
Robert: thanks for confirming. Glad to hear you’re all set here now. I’m going to keep playing around with the messaging there to see if we can make it clearer, since I can see how the configuration as you’ve reported is confusing.
