Julien: we are still working out the correct “one-size-fits-all” fix for this, but should have it in 2.0.9. The 2.0.8 release that’s coming out this week was under code-freeze before we got to this point so it regretably will not have the fix.

Vincent: how long ago did you add the code?

Andy, sounds like you’ve gotten what you need on the filter hook side based on the emails I’ve been seeing fly around. Let me know if not though.

Hi there Gabriel. Thanks for confirming as much. I just took a look at your site and it looks like the issue here is that the “upcoming” slug wasn’t translating. If you set the list view (for the link you just mentioned) as http://salsaylatinjazzfestival.com/events/upcoming/, it will show the upcoming list. Removing the ‘upcoming’ reference (so it’s http://salsaylatinjazzfestival.com/events/) will in turn yield the ‘calendar’ view.

That help? Let me know if not and I’ll do what I can to assist from there. Thanks for your patience so far.

Hey Jen. Just wanted to follow-up on this one since it looks like it may have slipped through the cracks.

We are indeed aware of the Select a Country issue. That’s logged and while it probably won’t make it into 2.0.8 (that release ended up being quite a bit smaller than planned since we ran out of time), it should be included in 2.0.9 come early August.

Thanks for the heads up and let me know what else I can do down the road.

How’d this go, Torstein? Let us know if you need anything else on this end or if we can close the thread out. Thanks!

Actually, Jennifer…I see that this thread was started by Chris so I’m going to leave it here so as not to confuse him. If you’d be so kind to create a new thread with the information I requested, over at the Eventbrite Tickets thread that is accessible from the right-hand menu on this page, it’d be most appreciated. Thanks!

Hi there Jennifer. Thanks for the note here, and sorry to hear you’re having an inconvenience. This is an odd issue and definitely not the intended behavior of the plugin. Can you provide some specific steps to recreate, or a screencast showing the process? I’m not quite sure how to recreate on my end.

Also, since this relates to Eventbrite more than Events Calendar PRO…I’m moving this thread over to that forum accordingly.

Hey there Mackenzie. Thanks for the note on this – glad to hear you’ve got some early excitement about Conference Manager. While you shouldn’t quote me on any of this (as we’re still working out the specifics/functionality), I can answer based on the first round of QA I did on Conference last week and the internal discussions surrounding it:

    1) This summer, for sure. I’d like to say sometime in July but realistically I’m going to be on the safe side and say by the end of August is our goal.
    2) Nope, no other plugin will be required to run Conference Manager except the free The Events Calendar.
    3) Yes, that aspect of user submitted events will be handled via the Community Events add-on. Community does give site admins the ability to hold all submissions for admin approval via an option on the Settings page.
    4) At this point, no – but that aspect of the code is the one that’s still pretty deep “in progress”, so that might change. If not for the initial release I suspect we’ll add something along these lines down the road since it does seem to add value. Whether it’ll be added into Community, Conference or both is still up for grabs though.
    5) Not sure how this would integrate into the Conference flow, but my guess is you’d need to find a third-party commerce solution here. The Events are just a custom WordPress post type, so if you find a commerce plugin that can tap into custom posts, it should pick up our event entries no problem.

Hope that helps. If you have any other questions, just holler. Thanks again for your interest.

Hey Kyle. Thanks for your interest in Community Events, and for reaching out with these questions. Happy to help address them best I can:

    1) At this point, there isn’t any slot reservation system in place here. While the admin will definitely have approval of any submission that comes through (so they can decide whether or not to approve it for publication based on whether any other events are already submitted for that time), the system unfortunately doesn’t have a check built in. This may come down the road, though, as we have had a number of requests for it since launching.

    2) If you’re running Community alongside Events Calendar PRO, you will have the option to have pre-defined saved venues & organizers populated for anyone who goes to submit an event (though, they can change this to a new venue as they see fit). Other fields cannot be required directly out of the box.

Thanks a lot for the words on PRO…we appreciate the feedback and it’s always great to see a note like that 🙂 Thanks for that. If you have any other questions on my points above or if I can do anything else, let me know and I’ll get you what you need. Cheers!

Thanks for confirming as much, Rob. Out of curiosity: what was the name of the folder initially, the problematic one? And what did you change it to for it to work properly? Just wanted to make sure I had that documented so I could pass it along to the devs as needed.

This is a real slick plugin, Andy – thanks so much for putting it together and sharing with the rest of us. I’ve given as many likes, favorites, works and 5-stars as the WordPress.org repo page for this plugin (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/the-events-calendar-category-colors/, for those interested) would allow. Cheers 🙂

Hi Davida: Jonah updated that FAQ item today, just a little while ago in fact. Mind giving it another go to see if the updated approach works for you?

    Thanks in advance!

Hey Leonard: thanks for the follow-up here, and sorry to hear you’re having issues. Is the license key you’ve added valid, and you’re still not seeing an update prompt?

You should be able to upload the plugin in place of what you’ve already got, yes. You may want to back up first just to be safe…but that approach generally works fine. What I normally do is give the new files a slightly different folder name, then upload them alongside the earlier build (so I’ll have 2.0.5 ACTIVE and 2.0.7 deactivated in the plugins list). Deactivate 2.0.5, activate 2.0.7 – so you have 2.0.7 for both The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO – and you should be set from there.

Hope this helps. If you still have any questions or problems arise, let us know and we’ll do what we can to assist.

Ramtin: thanks for the note. Andy is correct here; though, there’s an added degree of complexity based on the fact that the error message you’re seeing — in certain circumstances — appears even when you’re fully up to date. It is an issue we’re aware of and the confusing notice will be removed in an upcoming release, probably 2.0.8 when it comes out next week.

In the interim…so long as you’re running 2.0.7 of The Events Calendar and 2.0.7 of Events Calendar PRO, you should be all set. Let us know if you still have any questions on this.
