Just a heads up that since Jonah was perplexed by this too, I’ve got it on another dev’s plate. Should be receiving a response very shortly – my apologies for the delay.

Sure. Let me see if Jonah, our dev, has any suggestions.

This is a good idea. Not out of the box, but let me see if there are any somewhat easy hacks to get this done. I’ll get our dev Jonah to respond.

Have you tried adding images within the event entry body and / or as a featured image? Depending on the theme you’re using, the plugin should show events in the list along those lines of the baramericas site. In fact, best I can tell, that user IS using this plugin.

Hey Christopher. Thanks for the notes; glad to see you were able to dig into this. We had a bug related to comments appearing in the Default Events Template that was introduced in 2.0.1, but is patched for 2.0.2 (which should be releasing any day now). My guess is the upgrade will fix this; can you confirm upon doing so – you’ll be prompted to update on the WP backend – whether this is still an issue or not? I can keep looking into it from there, should it persist.

Thanks guys. I’m not sure what’s up here, but let me get our dev Jonah to chime in with his thoughts.

Hey Lauge. The only way to do this currently is with event categories; linking to specific categories where you want to show events to a specific region and just avoiding sharing the full calendar at /events. You can color-code the categories too, using this walkthrough (https://theeventscalendar.com/coloring-your-category-events/), to better segment them.

Would that work? It’s probably the only solution at this point, beyond getting into more complex custom hackery.

Hey Louis. Thanks for the detailed report; these are awesome and what we hope most users will submit. The links you included in your follow-up post were solid — but the second one seemed to just take me back to this thread. ANy ideas what’s up with that?

My guess is that the cause of your issue here is a permalinks related one. What happens if you just go to the permalinks page and save (without making any changes), then try to view on the frontend again? Sometimes that’s a simple solution to issues like this. Let me know if not and we can keep looking into it.

Hey Kevin. I’d be happy to look into this for you. First though, I see that you’re on The Events Calendar 2.0 and Events Calendar PRO 2.0.1. Any reason you’re not running 2.0.1 for both? There is the possibility of weird errors if you run them out of sync. Let me know if you tried 2.0.1 for both and the issue persisted.

If that isn’t the cause, any chance you could get me a screenshot of what you’re seeing? I can have a developer chime in directly from there.

Weird; that’s the first I’ve heard of this. Have you reached out to Jason about this? Let me know if not and I’ll go ahead and do so myself. Thanks Kevin.

Hoosier: Thanks for the note. That looks to be caused by a conflict with your theme; while we can’t provide direct support to non-PRO users I have asked our developer Jonah to take a look and see if he has any suggestions right off the bat. If he has anything to offer up on that front I’ll have him respond here directly.

Werner: is it possible you could avoid problems by switching to another template, under Settings -> The Events Calendar? IE if you’re on the default events template, switching to the default page template (or vice versa)? If not I’ll dig through the older forum posts to see if anyone else had issues along these lines.

Here are a few of the bits of feedback that have come through today:

    * Need to make sure have deactivate the old version before installing the new one! Otherwise you get an error saying it can’t do it but it doesn’t tell you why. Non-techie people would be thrown as the error doesn’t tell you what the problem is in non-tech language.
    * It’s not importing the finishing time correctly. If you look at http://www.theitfairy.co.uk/test where I’ve tried it out, it is showing the finish time as the same as the end time. Yet on Eventbrite (http://powerfulnetworkingresults-eorg.eventbrite.co.uk/?ebtv=C) the finish time is clearly different from the start time.
    * I can’t see how to get it show tickets. I selected “Display tickets on event page”  When I published the event I got “You did not create any tickets for your event. You will not be able to publish this event on Eventbrite unless you first add a ticket at Eventbrite.com.” But this event has tickets already set up on Eventbrite so I’m a bit confused about what I’ve missed!

    Keep it coming, folks.
