I just upgraded to the latest version of The Events Calendar. I have most of it working except for the gridview does not display the previous and next months correctly unless there are events that month. For example, I have events in October and if you view this calendar ( http://www.serviceforhumanityfoundation.org/new/events-schedule/2011-10/ ) you see that the previous month, current month drop down, the next month, the event list and calendar buttons all show up correctly in the right location. If you go to a month that does not have any events, say December ( http://www.serviceforhumanityfoundation.org/new/events-schedule/2011-12/ ) your will see the next month BUT (here is the issue) the previous month, current month drop down, the event list and calendar buttons are all hidden under the the title and do not display correctly.

Any ideas why it displays correctly with events but does not display correctly without the events? Thank you for any help!

Thanks Kyle. I’m seeing the issue, yes – any chance this is a conflict with your theme? Would be interested to hear if this occurs when you revert to the default 2011 theme, and I can get our developer to take a look once we have an answer here.

I just reverted back to the 2011 theme. It appears to keep all of the previous month, current month drop down, the next month, the event list and calendar buttons more in line but they still jump up about 40px when you go from page to page with events versus without events.

Weird. Thanks for doing that; let me see if our devs have any suggestions on this. If it’s happening in 2011 as well this could be a bug (though oddly I’m unable to recreate on my default 2011 install).

    Hi Kyle,

It looks like you’ve got some script/plugin or code in your theme or in your site that is modifying the markup and not properly closing out tags. This is probably why you see the issue in the 2011 theme as well and I would take a look at your other plugins first.

The reason I say this is looking at the markup in this screenshot everything is fine: http://cl.ly/3o3K010E021C1c0Y1Y1f

But when I advance to the next month the markup is modified and looks indicative of improperly closed tags: http://cl.ly/3c1y3a3Z2t3y1K370340

See those ‘p’ and ‘br’ tags? There’s something going on with those that’s causing the problem.

I would suggest deactivating all other plugins and see if that fixes it and if so, reactivating one by one to try and find the culprit.

If you turn off all plugins, then perhaps you have some other code thats being inserted another way?

    Hi Esteban,

Have you tried reverting your theme back to Twenty Eleven? There could be a conflict with your theme. What theme are you using?

    Regards,
    Jonah

Hi. I activated Twenty Eleven and still the current month drop down, the event list and calendar buttons move a little bit.

It’s more visible with the theme I’m using Avenue Theme http://themesector.com/

Hey Esteban. This seems to be a known issue that we’ve had reported a few times; as such we’re working to patch it for 2.1. Apologies for the inconvenience in the interim.
