Anthony: I’d love to see it, even if it were just as an “Hey, here’s one idea as to how to approach this…” item I could share with the team.

Tim: have you checked our tutorial on customizing the widgets (https://theeventscalendar.com/how-to-completely-customize-widgets/), to see if that helps point you in the direction of what you’re looking to do? Let me know if that isn’t helpful and I can get our dev Jonah to offer up his thoughts.

Hey Bill. This is a great point; we’re making a number of improvements to the forum now that 2012 is here and this is definitely one of the more pressing ones. Relief on this (in the form of an ability to unsubscribe from threads you’re following) should be coming shortly. Apologies for the headache in the interim.

Hey Chris. No problem man; thanks for the heads up. Sent you an email to this effect earlier, but let me know if you’re interested in participating in beta round 2!

Great idea, Anthony! Are you far enough along on the ticker you’ve had some success with that you’d be willing to share it, so we could check out how you’re approaching it?

Hey guys, thanks for the notes. Greg, to address your first point: this is a good question. I don’t believe it’s currently possible (going to check with the team to be sure), but I can definitely see the value. Let’s check as to what it’d take to implement.

The holiday calendar you guys are noting has been requested by a few folks so far. No guarantees as to when/if this will be included, but judging by the number of requests we’ve had for it I’d be surprised if this didn’t make it into a future release.

Hey Perry. Thanks for the note and for reporting this issue. This is actually the intended behavior of the plugin; that “Back to events” link just goes back to the current month, since there is no way for the plugin to know whether the person accessed that by clicking in from a specific grid view month versus being linked directly to the event (how they got there would determine where the “Back” link took them). This might change down the road, and you could probably hack something together in the interim to change this if you absolutely needed to, but there aren’t any plans for such a change in the immediate future.

Sorry I couldn’t offer up more here. If you have any other questions, just holler.

Hey Xpert. Sorry to hear you aren’t satisfied with the plugin. Not sure I understand what you mean when you say “how can I get it”…do you mean custom event attributes and a clickable calendar widget? If so, both of those come with the PRO release by default and are available out of the box. Let me know if you have questions about how to access them.

Hey Sean. Happy new year; hope you’ve been well. I don’t have an answer to this, but one of our developers should be able to. I’ll get Jonah to chime in directly.

Hey Cary. Sorry about the delay; you posted this the day I headed out for the holidays and I’m just getting back online today.

On that URL you included…what is the actual post title there? Weirdly the link is just going from category to event date (normally a behavior of recurrence patterns), though I see you note that the structure should be /%category%/%postname%/. Might you have another plugin active that is conflicting, possibly one that alters or relates in any way to the slug/permalink structures?

I would suggest updating to 2.0.2 of both PRO and free (you can always revert back to 2.0.1 if for some reason it gives you problems), to see if that solves anything. I can keep looking into this as needed from there.

Nice! Awesome to hear you got this resolved; and I apologize for not getting someone on our end to respond before you had to go dig this up yourself. Seems like your solution should work fine here so I think it’s safe to say we’re set here, unless you disagree.

Let us know if anything else comes up. Happy new year!

Hey Alex. New version isn’t yet complete; from a rough estimate, 2.0.3 will be out early next week and 2.1 will be live by this time next month.

We shut down last week but since the team is back as of today, I’ll get an advanced dev to chime in with any suggestions they may have on your issue this week.

Hey Corey. We’re putting the finishing touches on it now; should be out within a week at most. I’d let you test out what we’ve got on the beta front for it right now, but I see that this issue hasn’t yet been tackled…so it’d be useless to send your way. We’ve been out on holiday until today, but now that everyone is back we’re hitting the ground running. We realize 2.0.3 is a priority due to the number of bug fixes it’ll contain, and are working hard to get it out the door. Sorry I couldn’t offer anything in the more immediate interim.

Got it — thanks, Christopher. We’re back in full support gear as of today, so we’ll get a response for you guys this week.

Hey Greg. Thanks for the insight – that’s a request that definitely keeps coming up 🙂

We’re first focusing on 2.0.3 to get some major bugs from 2.0.2 out of the way; don’t quote me on it, but I’d expect that to be live by this time next week. 2.1 is a bigger undertaking but is definitely in the cards for immediately after 2.0.3, so should be within a month or so. We’ll of course keep you guys updated as we know more and if these dates change/solidify.
