When I’m logged in I see all of them in that upcoming events widget. Any setting for this, or a bit of code to always show events regardless of the user’s permissions?

MemberHey Alex. Thanks for reporting this; this shouldn’t be the default of behavior of the plugin – so I’m guessing this is a conflict with another plugin or possibly your theme. Any chance you’re using another plugin that alters or impacts role management/permissions?

MemberI am using Role Scoper, though I didn’t set and permissions on the Events post type, and they aren’t set to private, so I’m having trouble finding the issue. Let me try disabling the plugin to make sure that’s the problem.

MemberIndeed… it is Role Scoper. Any way you would be able to help with that or is that beyond the scope of what you cover?

MemberThe best I can do on this is offer up the Role Scoper dev a copy of this plugin, and any answers to questions he may have on his end, should be wish to work for smoother integration on his side.
On our end, I know that for the 2.1 release we’re adding a default role when registering our custom post types, so that may fix the issue for you right off the bat. Might be wise to – if you can wait – hold off until 2.1 comes in January to see it this issue becomes a moot point.

MemberSounds good.
Is there something I can add to the custom post type or to my functions or header which would force it to always be viewable no matter the user’s permissions?
Say, assign the Event Reader role to any user viewing the site even if they are not logged in?December 16, 2011 at 5:29 pm #12465Rob
MemberI can definitely get a dev to chime in on that to see if he has any suggestions based on the 2.1 work we’ve done so far. I should note that since things are starting to slow down with our team for the holidays, it probably won’t be until sometime early next week. But I’ve sent this his way for review and to offer up what we can.

MemberJust wondering what the status is of this update? I don’t see a new version out.
January 2, 2012 at 5:23 pm #12764Rob
MemberHey Alex. New version isn’t yet complete; from a rough estimate, 2.0.3 will be out early next week and 2.1 will be live by this time next month.
We shut down last week but since the team is back as of today, I’ll get an advanced dev to chime in with any suggestions they may have on your issue this week.

ParticipantI’m having a similar issue when using ‘Advanced Access Manager’ and ‘TEC’
When I have the plugin enabled AND logged in, I can filter events by category. However, for the everyday user, when they filter by category the gridview shows all events regardless of category selected. Ideas?

ParticipantEh, looks like it’s an issue with the plugin not with TEC .. debugging will hopefully be successful

MemberHey Zach – thanks for the note. Just to confirm, you’ve identified this as a conflict with the other plugin right? Do you need anything from us or are you all set here? Wanted to verify before closing the thread 🙂
