MemberHi again Jen. Just wanted to confirm that I talked this over with our dev Joey today. He looked at the code for the truncate() function in our plugin and it already has:
apply_filters(‘the_content’, $text);
which runs through do_shortcode() – we also tested it with a shortcode and it did process and show the shortcode. So this should be working appropriately.

MemberHi again Rene. I talked this over with our dev Joey today. On a high level, we should reiterate that nothing you implement into your markup will grant you #1 ranking on Google. It’s a combination of many many things, most importantly being how good and relevant is your content. That being said, we actually already implemented for the 2.0 release the use of Rich Snippets, using microdata format (see http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=176035) and schema.org standard (see http://schema.org/Event) which is fully supported (and encouraged) by Google. At this point, via those, we’re doing as much as we can in the markup to help users with SEO.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you’ve got any other questions.

MemberHey Ian. Thanks for the words 🙂 Glad to see you’re enjoying the plugin.
Is it possible that it’s been hidden under Screen Options? You’d want to check here: http://cl.ly/1X2G0o430Q0Z0z1o0v37. Let me know if that’s not the solution and we can keep looking into it for you.
Rob
MemberThanks Shane. Did John R work out? Let me know if you’d like me to follow-up with him.
Rob
MemberHey David. Thanks for reaching out; happy to try and help you out here. First thing I’d suggest would be to go into Settings -> The Events Calendar and switch to one of the different template offerings there. Does one of those do the trick, per chance? Let me know if not and I can get a dev to take a look.

MemberHey Dave. Thanks man; send ’em to pro /a/ tri.be, with a link back to this thread, and we can take it from there.

MemberThanks for the heads up, Jeremy. Looks like this is something we’ll need to address in a future release so that folks in your position don’t have to hack at it.
Rob
MemberHey Julien. Have you updated? This should be fixed in the new release, as per https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/huge-problem-need-help-right-away/. Let me know if I’ve misunderstood the issue here.
Rob
MemberHey dude. This should be in 2.1; the next major release (2.0.4 was mostly just to include bug fixes). No guarantees since we may find the need for a 2.0.5 release – but that’s the plan. Sorry I couldn’t offer up something more concrete.
Rob
MemberHey Tom. Thanks for the note here. On these points:
1. Weird; are you running 2.0.4 for both releases? I just tried this on the tagged 2.0.4 code and it worked without issue; when I had the default view set to “calendar,” clicking to view all from the calendar widget took me to the calendar view itself…
2. No problem on this second point. We should be able to help you out here. Let me get Jonah to take a look when he hits the forums next later this evening.

MemberThanks for confirming, Ken. Looks like per Paul’s last note this should make it into the next release so you don’t have to do any manual labor on your end.
Rob
MemberHey Pierre. No problem. You actually don’t need the key for the plugin to function. Check out this piece I put together addressing the very point you’ve asked about: https://theeventscalendar.com/events-calendar-pro-license-keys-when-you-need-them-when-you-dont/. Hope that helps! Let me know if it doesn’t.
Rob
MemberThanks Ken. Glad to hear this is gone away, whether from the plugin update or from the changes you’ve made yourself. If this arises again let us know and we’ll do what we can to assist.
Rob
MemberOh, I see. Thanks for confirming. What about a test environment somewhere? Even if it’s not the exact same site, someplace where you can recreate what’s going on? That’s about all we can do in terms of next steps to try and assist, unfortunately.
