ParticipantI have a site that normally has one event that happens simultaneously in different locations, even multiple countries and languages.
So far, I had created my own custom post type: Events, but I found recently ECP and totally like it and I am planing to use it for the upcoming event in March.
Because this time there will be at least 300 locations, I think it will be too crowded on the calendar, that is not an issue as I should be able to disable the calendar view.
What I am needing to accomplish is this:
1) Put a generic description of the event that applies to all of them so that I don’t have to input that for the 300 events/locations
2) Provide a very simple way for presenters/organizers to add their events
Any help and/or advice will be much appreciated.
Thanks for the wonderful plugin!

MemberHey Armando. Thanks for the note here. This sounds like a somewhat complex customization, but I want to make sure so I understand what you’re going for: basically, you just want a frontend page for the event that lists all the venues at which it is taking place? So basically, the same thing as the venue page (where all events at a given venue show up in list view), but reversed? Let me know.
Presenters/organizers adding their own events is going to require the Community Events add-on that we’re currently beta testing. It should be live sometime in March.

ParticipantHi Rob,
Thanks for anwering!
Yes, what I need is similar to the venue page, what may be really helpful is to be able to either filter or sort by country and city. One more thing I was thinking today (and that would be a super extra plus to have) is the ability to display a map with pins where events are happening.
So Community Events should be pretty handy to me these days, since we are having around March 10.
Thanks again!

MemberHey Armando. It doesn’t sound like Community Events will help for either of the two things you’re noting here (filtering by country/city or displaying a map, though the latter may well come sometime in the near future as we keep working on add-ons.
For the frontend display you initially mentioned…have you checked whether template tags ( https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation ) can help accomplish what you’re going for, or at least get you headed in the right direction?

ParticipantHey Rob, thanks for responding!
Just today I was wondering how to accomplish, I even bought http://wp-types.com/ in hope that Views would let me pull the city from Venues custom post types from ECP and then create the view/filter I wanted but turns out that Views does not see the custom fields of events.
Since the event is approaching, I don’t think I have the time to dig into the code, I hope I can find an easy work around.
I will look into the documentation again.

MemberHey Armando. Got it; sorry I couldn’t offer up more on this from our end, it’s just that the level of customization is outside of what we’re equipped to handle. Good luck with it though and please let me know if you need anything else.
