MemberHowdy Kyler,
Welcome to our support forums and thanks for reaching out to us. Hopefully I can help you figuring out what’s happening here!
I’ve looked into your site, and when I try to use the ‘Prev/Next’ buttons I see there’s a JS error in the console related to The Events Calendar script. So we are facing a script conflict here. To debug this Let try the following:
A – Try to switch the theme to 2015, and leave all plugins active.
B – With your theme active, disable all plugins but our’s.If pagination works in Test A, the script conflict is generated by the theme. Is it including a copy of jQuery? Our plugin uses the jQuery version included by WordPress and sometimes theme’s include their own copy of jQuery and this might cause some conflicts.
If it works in Test B, then next step will be to narrow this down to the specific plugin generating the conflict: re-activate the plugins one by one and test the pagination after re-activating each one. That way we can understand which plugin is in fact generating the conflict.
Please try this out and let me know,
Best,
NicoNico
MemberHowdy Joan,
Welcome to our support forums and thanks for reaching out to us. Sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing, but hopefully I’m here to help you getting this right.
So first of all let me confirm I’m understanding this correctly:
– Importing from ics file is working.
– Importing from a Google Calendar URL is not.If this is the case can you share the Google Calendar URL feed, so I can test this locally? Does the plugin bring the events after clicking the ‘Search’ button and it’s failing to import or it doesn’t show up any events at all?
Also please bear in mind that there’s a date filter and per default it’s set to today date, so if you are trying to import past events you’ll need to change that: https://cloudup.com/cz4SKFET8IE.
Please let me know about this,
Best,

MemberHi Ginnette,
Thanks for following-up on this and also for testing for conflicts.
Sorry if I wasn’t clear enough on this: I can reproduce the problem in your site, but cannot reproduce it in my local WP site. If I’m able to reproduce this I can confirm it’s a bug or if it’s possible find a work around this.
Regarding the system information, please check this link: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/ – it actually refers to the WordPress site information and not your local set-up. And while the notice, as you say, is not relevant in your case, can you try to un-publish the page with the ‘events’ slug and re-test this? Also do you have that page in place for any specific reason?
Thanks,
NicoNico
MemberHey Stephan,
That’s a good catch!
Can you check if the event date in the CSV file is correct and includes time? I’ve heard of different troubles while importing events with incomplete dates (for example lacking the year or so). If the events are well formatted and they get imported correctly there should not be any troubles while filtering.
Please check on that and let me know,
Best,
NicoNico
MemberHey Anthony,
Thanks for following up on this, also sorry for the delay on my response we don’t monitor the forums during the weekends.
Gret to know you’ve updated the plugins!
Take a look to this article: Using your browser to diagnose JavaScript Errors, Step #3 describes how to use your browser console. And yes, you should do this while trying to re-import the events.
I’m trying to import the feed locally, but I get a ‘Not a valid url’ notice. Checking the URL in a ics validator it seems there are a couple of errors with it: http://icalvalid.cloudapp.net/?mode=url&uri=&id=635790564787529383&progress=0
Can you create a sample ics file with Chicago timezone and try to import that so we can check if this an error with the feed or with iCal importer not matching the timezone correctly?
Thanks,
NicoNico
MemberHi Zain,
Thanks for following up on this! I’ll break your questions to give each a better answer:
We want to use the event calender to allow people to book the physical class room based course and then use the theme to complete the online element of the course.
Sounds right, with the Events Calendar you’ll be in a good spot to manage different locations, date-and-time and other info, for the courses. Event if they run simultaneously.
We have not yet decided whether the theme or the event calender pro will be used to take payment for the course. If you have any suggestions as to why the event calender may be better to use for taking payment I would be interested to know.
All of our ticketing add-ons rely on a different ‘e-commerce platform’, the ticketing plugin doesn’t offer a payment solution itself. So for example WooTickets, works with WooCommerce platform which comes with different pre-installed payment gateways -Direct Bank Transfer, Cheque Payment, Cash on Delivery, Credit card payments with PayPal or Credit card payment with Simplify Commerce- and also allows you to add more payment gateways via -free and paid- add-ons, like -Amazon Payments, Stripe, Authorize.Net, PayPal Pro/Advanced/Express, PayFast, FirstData, Simplify Commerce and Braintree and more. I don’t know if this is “better” than the option offered by your theme, but for sure it’s a pretty solid option.
What product/ add ons do you suggest we purchase? Is it the event calender with the ticket add on and event rocket? Would I have to pay a separate fee for all 3 plugins?
I guess you need a ticketing plugin to manage the booking of the courses, all options are valid in this case, but I guess WooTickets might be a good choice if you have no particular preference, because there are a lot of add-ons for WooCommerce platform -as it’s the most popular e-commerce plugin for WordPress-, so you’ll get a pretty solid solution but also flexible and customizable via add-ons.
Events Calendar PRO might not be necessary but adds a lot of useful features to The Events Calendar ‘Core’ version, like: additional views -week, map and photo-, recurring events, venues and organizers pages, advanced widgets and more. Be sure to check out the product page for full details.
Filter Bar add-on, is useful when you have lots of events -courses in this case- and you want to give the user advanced filtering capabilities. Not sure if this is your case but you might want to check it out as well.
Regarding Events Rocket it’s a free plugin, and at this point I’m not sure if you’ll find it super useful.
You’ll need to pay a separate fee for all plugins, and you’ll get updates and premium support for 1 year with your purchase -for every plugin of course. And yes, we have a 30 day refund policy so if you find you don’t really need one -or all- of the plugins, you can have your money back.Len mentioned the need for a registration form to capture certain information for each attendee and Geoff responded that it was a feature that was not yet being offered.
As Geoff responded this is still in development and hope we can see it out soon π Right now there’s no form at all, the only option to do this is to add some extra fields to the checkout form -via the e-commerce platform- and capture the data you need there.
Just to summarize a bit I think the best option is to try out our products in a simple test site to check if they provide the features you need -both in the back-end and the front-end of the site. After purchasing the licenses you’ll have access to our support forums, so if you have any doubts on the implementation of the plugins you can always reach out to us and we’ll be happy to help you out!
Please let me know if you still have any follow-up questions,
Best,
NicoNico

Glad to hear the fixed worked for you π When this is fixed in next release you can just delete the template override, and everything should go smoothly.

MemberHowdy Nadia,
Welcome to our support forums and thanks for reporting this issue. Unfortunately I could reproduce this myself and confirm it’s a bug.
Just logged it in our product backlog, and hope to see a fix for this really soon, but I don’t think this will happen before you site’s launch date π
For now the only solution I can offer is to downgrade our plugins to version 3.11 as I could confirm this was introduced in our latest release 3.12. Do you think you can do so?
Sorry for the inconvenience this might cause until fixed and thanks for reporting it,
Have a great weekend,
NicoNico
MemberHi Karim,
Thanks for reaching out on this! I’ll help you on this one.
Tickets are created with ‘Catalog visibility: Hidden’ per default, you can change that in the ‘Edit Product’ screen -https://cloudup.com/cWdOAQKD7Qs- and set it to ‘Catalog/Search’. That should make the ticket visible in the Shop page.
Please try it out and let me know,

MemberHowdy @jaj123175,
Welcome to our support forums and thanks for reaching out to us.
I think the problem here is that our plugin doesn’t use a page as placeholder, that’s why you won’t be able to add the featured image to it. I guess a workaround is to add the image to the template or to add it via JavaScript / CSS.
Can you share the site URL with me? Maybe checking the html of the header helps to think of something.
Thanks,
Have a great weekend,
NicoNico
MemberHi Stephan,
Thanks for reaching out to us! I’ll help you out on this one π
I’m checking this locally and it seems to be working fine on my end. Can you please follow the steps described in our Testing for conflicts guide? This way we can see if this is a problem in our plugin or a conflict with the theme or other installed plugins. Is the site online? Do you mind sharing the URL with me?
Also it would be great if you could share your system information with me so I can check if everything looks right on that end.
Thanks,
Have a great weekend,

MemberHi Christopher,
Thanks for reaching out to us! Unfortunately you are hitting a known bug here π
Sorry for the inconvenience this might cause until fixed. This bug is already logged and will be addressed in the next release of Events Calendar PRO. In the mean time there are two valid work arounds:
- A simple template override can fix this, take a look at this thread: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/html-shows-as-text/#post-1003968
- As this was introduced in the latest version downgrading our plugins to version 3.11 should fix the issue as well.
Please let me know if any of this options get it right for you,
Best,
NicoNico
MemberHi Ginette,
Thanks for reaching out to us, and sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing π
From what I see in the URL you share this is only happening whit category URL, right? I’ve unsuccessfully tried to reproduce this on my end, so let’s try the following:
- Clear all caches: I see you have W3 Total Cache active in your site, can you please flash all caches or deactivate the plugin and re-test this?
- Testing for conflicts: Can you please follow the steps described in our Testing for conflicts guide? This way we can see if this is a problem in our plugin or a conflict with the theme or other installed plugins.
- System information: Please share your system information with me, so I can check if everything looks fine on that end.
Please let me know if any of the suggested steps help you out with this,
Best,
NicoNico
MemberHi Michael,
Thanks for following up on this!
First of all please check the JS section of our Themer’s guide to get an overview of how Javascript templates work. Basically you have to add the data to ‘single-event.php’ and a placeholder to out put that in the JS template tooltip.php. Take a look:
[[=title]]
[[=dateDisplay]][[ if(imageTooltipSrc.length) { ]]
[[ } ]] [[ if(excerpt.length) { ]]
[[=raw excerpt]]
[[ } ]]
[[=raw eventCategories]]
Does this makes sense? You might want to add the venue and organizer yourself like this instead of using the plugin, but that’s up to you.
Please let me know if you can make it work on your end,
Best,
