Show Linked Text Instead or URL in Custom Field

Looks like something changed again in latest update regarding the handling of linked text in custom fields.

This code in a custom Text field used to produce a clickable link:

tickets.artspring.ca

Not it shows at text. I’ve played with all the different custom field types and can’t get this to register as linked text.

I’ve tried this and it didn’t work either:

Here is a page example:

UNIVERSITY OF VICTORIA CHAMBER ENSEMBLE

Tickets (1) is a Text Area Tickets (2) is straight Text, URL field won’t allow anything other than a URL.

Any suggestions on how to re-enable linked text?

Thanks for reaching out to us! Unfortunately you are hitting a known bug here 🙁

Sorry for the inconvenience this might cause until fixed. This bug is already logged and will be addressed in the next release of Events Calendar PRO. In the mean time there are two valid work arounds:

• A simple template override can fix this, take a look at this thread: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/html-shows-as-text/#post-1003968
• As this was introduced in the latest version downgrading our plugins to version 3.11 should fix the issue as well.

Thanks for logging this as a ticket. This fix resolved for now. Will I need to undue that change when the next update fixes this? Thanks for your help.

Glad to hear the fixed worked for you 🙂 When this is fixed in next release you can just delete the template override, and everything should go smoothly.
