    Hey Richard,

Thanks for reaching out. Our plugins, Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus, are meant to help sell tickets to events.

They are quite flexible and so probably could serve the purposes you describe here quite well. But there may be a better solution.

To what you’re describing, you’d need all of these plugins:

    • The Events Calendar (free)
    • WooCommerce (free)
    • Event Tickets (free)
    • Event Tickets Plus (premium)

You could make an event for each “House” rental. So for example, if House A will be rentable for the period of time between February 1 and February 5, you would make an all-day event that starts on February 1 and ends on February 5.

Then you could add tickets to this event, and set a limit on how many tickets can be sold.

And so then if someone buys a ticket, they can be “Checked in” with the Event Tickets Plus check-in features and you can proceed from there.

And yes, WooCommerce lets you collect payments via PayPal or Stripe.

To learn more, please note the following things:

    • The Events Calendar and Event Tickets are FREE. So you can start tinkering with them firsthand yourself any time. The Events Calendar is here, Event Tickets is here.

    • Check out this Knowledgebase guide to get a closer look at some of the inner workings of Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/managing-your-orders-and-attendees/

    • Check out this page here to learn what sort of support you get with a premium license from us: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/what-support-is-provided-for-license-holders/ ? This is very important to read! Because to get things exactly how you look and want, there is only a limited amount of things we would be able to help with as a support team. So you should read this to get a sense of how much you would have to do on your own.

Please let me know if this helps and if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with! 😀

    Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out. These forums here are our “Pre-sales Questions” forums, so we unfortunately cannot field technical support questions here.

It doesn’t currently appear that you have a premium license with us. If this is wrong, and you do have a premium license with us, then apologies for my misunderstanding!

However, in that case please log into the account on this site that has your premium license, and then post this question in a premium support forum.

If you indeed do not have a premium license, then please post your question in our free support forums here → http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar

We check those forums a bit more than once per week, so hopefully we will be able to get to your question there.

    Thank you,
    George

    Hey Matt,

    Thanks for reaching out.

This is unfortunately one of this things that is a bit tricky to do well no matter what. But you may find the methods described here a bit more straightforward than others, and I would recommend checking these out ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-wordpress-export-tools-to-migrate-events-content/

Let us know if that helps!

    Hey Matt,

    Thanks for reaching out.

None of our plugins offer any Salesforce integration out-of-the-box, unfortunately. It’s possible to do it by way of custom coding, but to answer your other question about this, no, even with a premium license we would not be able to offer any assistance with custom coding. You can read more about this fact here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/what-support-is-provided-for-license-holders/

As for “picklists”, this is not a term I’m familiar with. Some google searching makes it appear like this is itself a Salesforce feature. To the extent that it is, then what I wrote above applies.

However, if you just mean as piece of UI or UX design, can you elaborate on what you mean and share some screenshots or examples of “picklists”?

That information will help me better answer that aspect of your questions.

    Cheers!

    Hey Jason,

You mention the process you’ve done so far to make your own theme “as simple as possible” — can you try, however, to activate a default theme like Twenty Seventeen?

In a theme like this, how do things behave?

If issues persist without improvement in a default theme like Twenty Seventeen, please leave Twenty Seventeen active and let me know — I will take a look at your main calendar page in this state and see what I can learn about the absence of the tooltips.

    Thanks!

    Hi Jennifer,

This busy site has added a totally custom search system that allows users to find events by category, type, and date or date range.

Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with!

    Hey Camilla,

Thanks for reaching out, we can totally help here.

You say that you “then cancelled them in my account”—can you clarify exactly what you mean by “cancelling them in your account”?

In the meantime, please note that if there are not licenses entered on your site, this will not affect the actual functionality of your plugins. So they will work 100% totally fine on the new site without the licenses—license keys just sign up a web site for support and automatic updates.

It’s still important! And we’ll help you get this sorted out, of course—but just didn’t want you to think that, for example, without the license keys you couldn’t proceed with launching the new site or something because the plugins wouldn’t work without the licenses.

    Thanks,
    George

    Hi Peter,

Creating such a service is certainly technically possible, but there’s nothing really “out-of-the-box” with our plugins to make this happen. You would have to custom code all of your own syndication features and web service integrations.

The Events Calendar is totally free and available here, so you can start tinkering today → http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar

One thing our plugins do provide “out-of-the-box” is a simple API class which may be helpful. You can find it and read its extensive in-code documentation at this file within The Events Calendar:

    the-events-calendar/src/Tribe/API.php

Best of luck with your projects!

Sorry to hear this, Ronald! We have a ton of information we try to sort in our Knowledgebase and it indeed is sometimes a bit unwieldy. We’re working on a number of improvements for this in the coming weeks and months.

In the meantime, the closes thing we have to a list like you describe is the “Shortcodes” tag archive for the Knowledgebase, which you can find here ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase-tag/shortcodes/

☝️ That lists all of the articles on the Knowledgebase about our plugins’ various shortcodes.

    I hope it helps!

Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.

    Hi Christopher,

    Thanks for reaching out.

We are not able to help with questions related to custom coding like this, so you’ll mostly have to take the reins here.

    A few tips, though:
    1. Try using the function get_the_ID() instead of trying to use $post->ID. You can learn more about this function here: https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/functions/get_the_id/

    2. Try using the function tribe_event_featured_image() to get an event’s featured image. You can learn more about this function by heading to this file within your The Events Calendar and reading the function’s code to see how it works:
    the-events-calendar/src/functions/template-tags/general.php

    3. Make sure you’re using PHP code within a template in a way that makes sense. This is a pretty broad/abstract thing to recommend, I’m aware; but research online for some real examples of people who’ve done similar things with other themes and plugins—it may be insightful.

Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.

    Hi Cliffy,

    Thanks for your patience here.

These are some odd issues that we have not otherwise seen, so some more investigating will be required here.

Please do not yet downgrade your versions of The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro. From the look of things that may only complicate the situation here.

    A Clarification of The Issues

To make things simpler here and help us help you, let’s temporarily refrain from discussing the entire body of events on your two sites. Let’s just focus on one event and use it as a specific example/illustration.

Let’s just refer to the one event you shared a screenshot of (this screenshot, for reference: https://theeventscalendar.com/content/uploads/2017/01/6ba1f90df9f8d821.jpg)

It sounds like the problems are as follows:

    1. For this event, the “Event series:” UI is not correct because it says that the events will happen “Every 1”, but does not specify if that means every 1 week, or every 1 day, or every 1 month, etc.

    2. While the UI as seen in the screenshot is broken, the event does display correctly in the actual front-end calendar.

    3. Next, the event UI lists a whole bunch of dates in the “Event will not occur on:” section. None of these dates should be listed as “exclusions”.

☝️ To help us get 100% on the same page about the exact nature of these issues and provide a solution, can you please specify if each one of the three things above is an accurate description of your problems? If my summary is wrong for a given number, please specify exactly how. Ideally you could do so in this format, for example:

    1. Yes that’s correct.
    2. No, the events do not display correctly in the front-end either.
    3. Yes that’s correct.

Thank you in advance for a detailed reply along these lines. We are determined to help resolve this and in to do so in such a way that does not require you to delete events or have to manually update thousands of them or anything like that.

    Thanks,
    George

    Hey Paul,

Thanks for reaching out. It’s still unfortunately not possible to have certain items in the Filter Bar be pre-selected. 🙁

You could possibly achieve it by way of custom coding, which is unfortunately outside the scope of the support we can provide.

    Sorry to disappoint!

    Hi Monty,

Thanks for reaching out. I cannot recreate this issue on my local site or on our demo site, and so this appears to be a result of your theme or other CSS on your site, like perhaps some styles coming from other plugins.

We are not able to help with such issues unfortunately, as elaborated upon here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/what-support-is-provided-for-license-holders/

I took a look at your site nonetheless, to try and identify the exact reason from within CSS that is causing this. But I was not able to identify the culprit.

So the best bet is to contact your theme author for assistance as to why their theme CSS is doing this—or they may at least be able to identify the plugin whose CSS is causing this.

Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.

I’m sorry to hear about that error.

To help me help you resolve this, can you please your site’s complete, un-edited System Information to this thread?

Check out the “Sharing information manually” section of this guide for steps on how to do that: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

    Hey Joe,

Good question. I am only recommending it to try and address the email problem; what I am hoping is that it will get the tickets to be emailed once the orders are marked as “processing”, and not needing them to be marked “Completed”.
