ParticipantHey Peter,
Unfortunately, while both reordering events or adding a “featured” category or something are indeed possible, they would require a good amount of custom coding – we don’t officially offer support for custom code here, but if you’re interested in possibly writing some custom code in your theme and such to help order things, let me know. I can offer some general advice and hopefully share some articles with you that you could then take to write custom code of your own.
If you are not interested in writing custom code, let me know.
I’m sorry about the disappointment on this front!
Cheers,

ParticipantHey Kristine,
There unfortunately is not much news on this feature, however one thing you can try is heading to Settings > Reading in your WordPress admin, and increasing the “Syndication feeds show the most recent:” option there.
This might help – let us know if it does.
Also, out of curiosity, can you clarify the following things:
1. What version of The Events Calendar is currently active on your site?
2. What version of Events Calendar Pro is currently active on your site?
3. What version of WordPress is your site running?— George

ParticipantHey Toby,
I’m really sorry to hear this! For starters, you can upload screenshots to a site like cloudup.com or imgur.com and share links to those images here.
As for your issue – are there specific fields that are always consistently the ones that are not imported? Or are different fields failing each different time you try importing?
There is a known bug with Organizer information, but otherwise all the other information should be importing correctly.
Thank you!

ParticipantHi @Wired Impact,
Sorry to hear about these issues – for starters, you can upgrade your staging site’s software at any time by just download the latest versions of things from http://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads. You can activate the plugins and see how things behave without needing to enter the license key.
I’m glad the event date issue was resolved, and appreciate you doing that troubleshooting! We can investigate that issue but minification-related bugs are hard to work with, and there’s often little we can do, if anything.
The organizer issue is not one I can recreate…let us know if it’s possible for you to do some of the aforementioned debugging on your staging site, now that you can manually download and upload the latest plugin versions there for testing. If you have the same exact behavior on your staging site, then that could definitely mean there’s a bug here, but for me the organizer works fine.
Thank you!

ParticipantHey Dave,
Sorry to hear this!
Can you clarify these details:

2. What version of Events Calendar Pro is active on this site?
3. What version of iCal Importer is active on this site?
4. What version of WordPress is this site running?Site B

4. What version of WordPress is this site running?Just a starting point so we can investigate the bug a bit more closely. Thank you!

ParticipantHey Annika,
We could indeed refund the purchases, however, it’s important to note that if you yourself are a for-profit entity who is charging the Non-Profit money for your web design services, then you yourself cannot get the free Non Profit licenses. You will have to tell administrators/contacts at the Non-Profit itself to reach out so that their group itself can have free licenses, not you or another third party or anything.
No snark or anything is meant by my clarification of this! Just want to set expectations and make sure the program’s rules are clear for all involved. For further discussion on this topic, you should email us at [email protected] – include a link to this thread for reference if you’d like.
Thank you!

ParticipantHey @karen,
I’m sorry to hear that you weren’t satisfied with the response you received in another thread here on this topic. Could you link directly to that thread, and any other SQL query-related ones that you’re referring to here? I’ll take a closer look and see what’s going on here.
Your questions about having the widget loaded, or specific views, definitely have merit but the biggest thing I’m curious about here is how many events do you have on your site?
That can inform a lot of things here – let us know!
Thank you,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey @sunonet,
Adding a featured image to the widget can be done by following the general customization steps outlined here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/
And using those principles to add call to the function tribe_event_featured_image() where you want the featured image to appear. Head to src/views/widgets/list-widget.php in your plugin files for The Events Calendar to find the file whose code you can edit for this.
Cheers!

ParticipantThis will use the excerpt manually entered in the post, although if one doesn’t exist, the normal post content should be used as a fallback.
If you find it does not meet your needs, your best option is to apply filters to the_content instead of the excerpt or some other alternative.

ParticipantThank for trying the WP_DEBUG step! And though it seems like a small detail, the version inconsistency if your active versions could lead to issues like this.
So for now, can you try updating Events Calendar Pro on your site to the most recent version? You can access it at http://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads at any time.
The Events Calendar should be at 3.11.2 and Events Calendar Pro should both be 3.11.1.
Let us know if this helps!

ParticipantAnd a much-appreciated one, @th! Thanks for adding your voice. I would personally love to see event reminders too, and we’re working on something pretty cool 😉
Stay tuned!

August 6, 2015 at 8:11 am in reply to: Can't update to the latest Events Calendar. Not an option to update #993920George
ParticipantHey Dawn,
I’m sorry to hear about these issues – it does indeed seem that you will need to manually install the latest versions of The Events Calendar and other Tribe plugins on your site (if you have any other ones, of course).
To do this, you’ll want to delete existing versions of Events Calendar Pro and The Events Calendar on your site – not just deactivate, but delete. You will not lose your event data by doing this (although backing up your site before installing ANY plugin or theme is always recommended, not just for The Events Calendar!).
Once those are deleted, head here for a copy of Events Calendar Pro and any other premium add-ons:
http://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloadsAnd here for The Events Calendar:
Install these freshly on your site, try entering the licenses again, and see what you find!
Thank you 🙂

ParticipantHey Cliff,
I’m sorry this slowed things down so much on your site – when it comes to improving performance, we’re on the same page with you and have many performance improvements planned over the next few releases.
Your feedback is genuinely appreciated. Let me know if you have any further thoughts here, or other questions/concerns/etc.
Thank you,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Ricky,
There is no phone support here, though I can still address your questions! 🙂
The Unlimited Version is just a license type, it does not add features to the individual add-ons. So Events Calendar Pro does not have community submission. Community submission is only available from Community Events. So if you buy an unlimited license for Events Calendar Pro, you still will not have the features of Community Events, and vice versa.
As for whether community-submitted events can be recurring, yes, if you have BOTH Events Calendar Pro (which provides the recurrence features) and Community Events (which provides the submission features) then yes, users can submit recurring events.
I hope this helps!
Cheers,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Nigel,
Sorry you’re having some trouble here! If I understand your questions correctly, then it seems like the most straightforward way for you delete many old events in bulk is to head to the “Events” page in your wp-admin.
Once here, notice a tab in the top-right of the screen called “Screen Options”. If you click it, an option for how many events to display on the admin page will show. Bump that number up as high as you can, which depending on your site and server should be up to 100 or 150 events per-page (beyond that, and it will just load too slowly or could possibly even fail to load depending on your server).
So then you can just sort events by start date or something, and then “bulk select” a bunch of them and then just “Move to trash”.
This should be quite a time-saver. I hope it helps!
Cheers,
