ParticipantThanks for the update Brian – just out of curiosity, how do imported events look for you if you don’t have the \n forced newlines? For me, importing events with paragraph breaks often works, so I’m curious if it works for you to just have the paragraphs broken up and line breaks in place (without even needing to add the additional force-linebreak characters).
Let me know what you find when you try that!
Thank you,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Jeff,
Thanks for the update – I see this thread is marked as “Resolved”, is adding the small note like you mentioned the solution you’re going to proceed with for now?
Let us know if that’s the case and/or if there’s anything else I can help with!
Cheers,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantThanks for the update @byronclinic, I didn’t know this about the Divi theme so it’s good to know!
And thanks to Brian for covering for me a bit while I was out this week! 🙂
Cheers,

ParticipantHey @laughmasters,
In addition to Brian’s input here, I’d just like to point out that if your main concern is that you don’t want people to buy tickets for individual events, and only want to sell tickets one time for the whole 8-week course, then this should not be a problem with the way our recurring events work: simply create the series with the recurring events as I described, then go to the first event and only add tickets to this event. You can label the tickets, so if you label them for the whole course then it should be fairly clear to users what the tickets are for.
This will NOT create tickets for sale on any other of the days – so tickets will only be available on that first event. You could even then place a link at the bottom of the other events in the series like “Want to attend this course? Buy tickets for it here.” which links to the first event where tickets can be bought…
Just some ideas. I hope this helps!

ParticipantHey @Corey,
Unfortunately, what I wrote above is still where things stand:
We’re hoping to publish our next release by early September, though I unfortunately don’t have more detail than that 🙁 I’m not withholding information! I just genuinely cannot guarantee a specific date when the release will arrive.
I’m really sorry about this bug, and agree with you that it’s a pretty important one. I hope we can get a fix in for the next release, if not then hopefully the next one which should be no more than a few weeks after that.
Stay tuned folks! We’re working on this one! 🙂

ParticipantHey @dbinbrea,
There unfortunately isn’t a way to add a new domain to the license, but the good news here is that a license isn’t really required for the dev site to being with. The reason for this is that the license is NOT required for anything in the plugin to function – it works 100% completely normally without a license key.
The license key simply alerts your site of an available update, and lets you access customer support here on the Premium forums.
But if you have the License active on the Live site, then you’ll learn of Updates there – and you can then just manually download the latest version of the plugins here on this site at http://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads
And we can happily support both the live site and its development version 🙂
I hope this information helps clarify things a bit, and that this is indeed a satisfactory process for you. Let me know if that’s the case and/or if there’s anything else I can help with!
Cheers,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Jay,
Unfortunately it is not possible to share events across a Multisite network at this time, unless you were to build some custom solution for linking all the sites on the network to a shared database or something like that.
Sorry to disappoint!

ParticipantHey James,
I’m sorry to hear this! Just to be clear, when you say that “no events are displayed” in Week View, do you mean no events at all, or just none of the recurring events that you mentioned earlier in your post here?
Regardless of that, unfortunately the best thing I can recommend for this at the moment would be to run through our troubleshooting steps here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/
If things work fine in some views but not others, then those steps above are essential here because they will help reveal or rule out a theme or plugin conflict, which is a likely culprit for an issue like this.
Let us know if you can run through those steps, and, if so, what you find by doing them. Check on the Week View after each theme and plugin deactivation, and see if the behavior changes at all.
Thank you!
GeorgeAugust 15, 2015 at 12:53 pm in reply to: What is the maximum number of events that can be added #996335George
ParticipantHey Tom,
There’s technically no upper limit to the amount of events you can add – however, if your site is accumulating more than a few hundred events per month, then from there onwards the performance of the calendar and your site in general will begin to suffer.
Let me know if this information is helpful or not – if you find it too vague, then my apologies for that! Elaborate a bit on what your concerns are and what use case you’re curious about and I’ll happily try to offer some more detail and some specific advice for your needs.
Thanks!
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Farhad,
Thanks for your interest in these details! We unfortunately don’t have all the release notes for 3.12 ready yet, and don’t have the exact launch date planned yet, but it should be arriving sometime no later than early September, if all goes to plan.
This is open to change but it will be coming soon regardless – once it is release, the full release notes will be in the Changelog of the plugin and in a blog post at http://theeventscalendar.com/blog
I hope this information helps – let me know if it does and if you have any other questions, comments, concerns, etc.
Cheers!

ParticipantHey Aindreas,
Any of the customization ideas you suggested are indeed possible, though unfortunately you will have to build out these customizations entirely on your own since we don’t offer support for customizations here on the forums.
With that being said, I’m happy to offer as much advice as possible to hopefully get you started and save you some time.
The first thing to learn about customizing The Events Calendar and its widgets is to read through our Themer’s Guide here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/
Once you feel comfortable with those concepts, you can then indeed proceed with adding featured images and excerpts to parts of the widgets or anything else on your site.
Getting the featured image is possible with the function tribe_event_featured_image().
And getting the excerpt is possible with the function get_the_excerpt(), which you can read about in more detail here → https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_the_excerpt
As for altering layouts, you can do that with CSS – if you’re unfamiliar with writing CSS, it’s fortunately very easy to learn and some great sites to learn from include http://css-tricks.com and https://www.codecademy.com/tracks/web
Best of luck with your customizations!
