FTP is indeed the recommended solution here, at least in terms of deleting the version of The Events Calendar’s files already on your site.

Once those are gone, you should be able to use the wp-admin uploading tools and stuff without error…

We’ll close this thread for now based on your last comments, but please open a new thread any time if other issues or questions arise!

    Cheers,

    Hey Susan,

    Sorry to hear this.

To help me investigate, can you share the complete, un-edited system information of the site on which you’re trying to activate the licenses and get those errors? To do that, use the “Sharing information manually” steps outlined in this article: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

    Thank you!

    Hey @Markus,

Our plugin-generated iCal feeds now do specify the UTF-8 charset. You can see this if you head to line 351 of this file within The Events Calendar:

    the-events-calendar/src/Tribe/iCal.php

If you don’t find this to be the case for you, then can you please post your site’s complete, un-edited system information using the “Sharing information manually” steps outlined in this article: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

    Thanks!

    Thanks for this info Kenneth.

The use of the insertAfter jQuery function is not necessarily problematic, it’s just something about the specific way they’re implementing it. Perhaps they’re loading it too soon, before jQuery is loaded on the page? Or maybe they’ve not instantiated jQuery on the output variable…

…in either case, it’s definitely something they should be able to help fix.

Keep us posted if there are any other issues or questions we can try to help with. 😀

Sounds good George. Recurring events do not have support for tickets yet, so that indeed may end up just being a bit confusing or difficult to work with.

You’ve marked this thread “resolved” so I will go ahead and close it for now — but please feel free to open a new thread any time if other issues or questions arise!

    Hey Oded,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Your information confirms that the theme is breaking the tooltips.

We do not make that theme, and so the best course of action is to contact the creators of that theme to investigate why their code is breaking elements on the page like the calendar tooltips.

They should be able to assist from there.

Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with!

    Hey Kenneth,

I took a look at your error and also out our plugin code.

The code responsible for that “output.insertAfter” error does not come from any of our plugins. Do you know where this is coming from?

If it’s coming from your theme, please contact your theme author promptly so they can assist with why their code is causing this error.

If it’s coming from another plugin, please contact that plugin’s author promptly so they can assist with why their code is causing this error.

If you’re not sure where it’s coming from, I’d recommend these steps:

    1. Do the complete set of troubleshooting steps on this page → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts.

    2. After EACH STEP in that process, check back on the page, refresh the page, and see if the error comes up in the console again.

Let us know what you find if you do these steps, or if you know already where that code comes from and contact the creators of that code.

Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with!

Hi Kenneth, thanks for reaching out. I’ll be looking into your issue here and another reply is forthcoming, but before getting to that I just wanted to set your expectations about the pace of support here: Our support exchanges usually happen on the pace of one support reply every 24–48 hours during the work week.

You can read more about the support process and what to expect from it here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/what-support-is-provided-for-license-holders/

Just wanted to be honest about things up front—stay tuned for more information on your actual issue! 😀

    Hey George,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Our plugins unfortunately do not support multiple venues for one event. 🙁

So when it comes to the things you ask about here, there are unfortunately not many options for this.

The method our plugins would best support is to literally make each event its own separate event, with its own specified date, time, and venue. Then add tickets to these events, and folks can buy tickets for the day they want.

There’s not a way to make something like in the screenshot you posted with our plugins “out of the box”. I’m sorry to disappoint!

Please let me know if this information helps you move forward with your project and if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.

    Sincerely,
    George

    Hey Barry,

I tried recreating this problem to no avail.

Once you install and activate WooCommerce so that the Fatal Error goes away, can you then please post your site’s complete, un-edited system information using the “Sharing information manually” steps outlined in this article: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

That will help us investigate this.

    Cheers!

    Sorry to hear this, Barry!

This appears to be a bug — we will investigate this and get working on a fix if indeed it is.

In the meantime, installing and activating WooCommerce (without using it!) should resolve this. I know this isn’t desirable, but it should be a temporary fix for a fatal error until we are able to publish a proper fix.

Please let me know if that helps!

Stay tuned, I will post with news about the bug after we investigate a bit.

Can you clarify who your web host is? Are you hosting your site with GoDaddy, for example?

    Hey @Bravenewmedia,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The best thing our plugins provide for this, at this time, is the very “ticket fieldset” (aka “Attendee Information”) fields you mention.

It’s true that there’s no stock integration with these fields—there is no way to do this at this time. And so the features you’re describing are not possible “out of the box” with our plugins. 🙁

These features are technically possible, but would unfortunately require many code customizations to implement. You would have to write that custom code or hire a professional developer to do it for you. We have a list of great developers here → http://m.tri.be/18k1 (and have no affiliation with any of these folks—they’re simply some well-respected names in the community that we’ve compiled to share in situations like this one).

Sorry to disappoint! Please let me know if this information helps you move forward with your project and/or if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.

    Sincerely,
    George

    Hi Jerome,

    Sorry to hear this.

    1. Can you please share a link to your website?

    2. Can you please specify who your web host is? Are you hosting your site with GoDaddy, for example? Or MediaTemple? Or HostGator? Etc…let us know who.

    3. Can you please share a screenshot of the error message you see when you activate the plugin? You can do so by uploading the screenshots to this thread. If you have issues with that, you can upload to Imgur.com, Flickr.com, CloudUp.com, or any similar image-hosting site; then just share the links to those images here and I’ll take a look.

    Thanks!
    George
