    Hi Tim,

I admit I am a bit baffled by this behavior, and cannot reproduce it myself. I am going to escalate this thread to our development team for some insight. I will post news to this thread as soon as I have it β€” stay tuned!

Thank you for your patience here!

    Thanks Susan.

    The Problem

You have a Personal License of Events Calendar Pro, which means it can only be used on one website.

I took a look in your account to see where your license was used. Now, above you say, “I don’t have the events on myalzheimersstory.com”, but your Personal License key for Events Calendar Pro is currently being used on myalzheimersstory.com

So if you try to use it on another site, you’ll get the “out of installs” notice because it’s only allowed on one site.

    The Solution

To fix this, head to http://theeventscalendar.com/license-keys. You will be able to see a “Disconnect Now” link next to your Events Calendar Pro license key.

Use the “Disconnect Now” button there to disconnect your license key from myalzheimersstory.com.

Then enter the license key on nhcurling.com, and you shouldn’t have errors.

    I hope this helps! πŸ˜€

Thanks for the update, Erick. I see you’ve marked this thread “resolved”, so with that in mind and with your replies above, I will close this thread for now. We will be happy to continue the conversation in your other threads.

And please feel free to open a new thread any time if other issues or questions arise. πŸ˜€

    Hey Susan,

Thanks for your followup. Just clarify, all I’m trying to figure out is:

β€’ Do you see the “out of installs” notice you report when you are in the Admin dashboard of myalzheimersstory.com ?

β€’ Or do you see the “out of installs” notice you report when you are in the Admin dashboard of nhcurling.com ?

If you see the “out of installs” notice in the Admin dashboard of a different website, then what is the URL to that website ?

    Thanks!

    Hi Erick,

    Thanks for the followup.

So, to be clear, are you actually having no issues with licensing whatsoever? And so the real problem here is actually that you get 404s on your dev site?

Apologies for misreading your original query β€” if the dev 404s are something you’re seeking help with specifically, let me know.

Assuming you are, to get started on troubleshooting those after importing I would first recommend these troubleshooting steps for event 404s β†’ https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/fixing-http-404-errors/

    That may be helpful.

    Thanks,

    Thanks for your followup, @worldgoldskills.

This seems to be the core of your question:

It worked perfectly the first year we used it and had worked great up until the most recent update, so I’m just wondering if the update probably caused the changes?

The update probably did the cause the change. If you’ve used it for a year already, then when the code was first written, the class names, function names, and other technical details were probably significantly different than they are now. Significant enough, anyways, to cause breakages here now with the new versions of our software.

As noted, you can post the complete files of any related custom coding to Gists at http://gist.github.com, and I’ll happily take a look β€” it’s true that the amount of time I can spend on investigating there is very limited, but I might be able to spot something obvious that helps get the ball rolling on necessary changes.

Please let me know what you think of all this and if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.

Thanks so much for this information, Mark, and for your patience here.

I took a look through things and don’t notice anything outright problematic in your System Info, nor was I able to spot a specific JavaScript error on your site’s calendar page.

With this in mind, I think your site might actually be afflicted by a recent bug we just confirmed the existence of this morning.

The bug basically works like this:
β€’ If you don’t have any “pretty” permalinks enabled on your site, the “View As” switcher will not work.
β€’ If you do have “pretty” permalinks enabled, though, it should work fine.

To test this on your site, head to Settings β†’ Permalinks in your site’s wp-admin.

Change the Permalinks settings there from “Default” to something like /%postname%/ β€” then save the changes, and check out your events page.

How do things behave in this state?

    Thank you!

    Hey Esteban,

Thanks so much for testing this β€” my original purpose here to come back to this thread was to alert you of the fact that we actually just confirmed what you describe here as a bug:

β€’ With “pretty” permalinks, the “View As” switcher works fine.
β€’ Without “pretty” permalinks, the “View As” switcher does not work.

Our developers are working on a fix for these; hopefully we can publish a fix in a matter of a couple of weeks. I will post updates to this thread with more news and information on the bugfix.

For now, I would recommend using “Pretty” permalinks if possible as a temporary fix.

Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.

    Sincerely,
    George
